- Sometimes they're just too far gone! You're probably wondering why we saved this gal, well there are a ton of usable part and we thought it would be fun to try and get it to run! Sadly the cylinders do have major moisture issues and without a tear down will not be run able. With our other builds going we figured we would send her on to someone who could really use her and we came back with something new, after a trade and some little greenery. Just goes to show how old cars can come around full circle! Hope you all enjoy!

Well, I'm glad the Cady got into the hands of someone that can salvage parts from it. Too often people just crush rare old cars before thinking.
yeah my brothers boss sent an old bmw 2002 to the fire department so they could burn it
Glad this Cadillac will provide parts that will help with fixing another car.😯
Wow, that pick up truck brings back memories for me! My Dad bought one of those new in the 1970s! We used to cut and haul firewood in it. Unfortunately, we lived in Western NY and it died a premature death due to rust. It was a great truck!!
The International pickup is sweet, looking forward to videos on that!!
At the begining of this video I was thinking that if you guys got that caddy back on the road, you truly are miracle workers! Know when to fold 'em.
Good to see Dad has his protective footwear on
And safety contact lenses.
It is really sad to see such a amazing car in this condition :(
Dad had a '54 two door coupe Deville!
Holly shit I just had my first "Show Me Christine" moment!
Jared from wrench everyday would be crazy about that international truck
I'd say it's still a win in my book! You were able to help a brother out and in return, you got a sweet International! At least this one has an interior!
I'd like to see a video of this one running & driving! If you got the time & the budget, I'd recommend installing an aftermarket 8 track in it.
In late 1961 my dad ordered a brand new 1962 Pontiac Tempest Convertible from Morton Pontiac in Morton Grove, IL. The car would be built and delivered to the dealer in about 6 weeks and our 1956 Pontiac Star Chief had a bad trans so we needed a car. The dealer's son worked with my Dad and arranged to have the dealership "lend" a 1954 Caddy 4 dr. sedan that was really an awesome cream puff. This was late November in Chicago and I remember vividly how quickly this car started and the awesome heater and sound system in the car. Even though it was only AM radio, the sound was so beautiful...especially when I would sneak into it and listen to WLS in the middle of the night. All those top 40 hits sounded terrific in that car. Also, this car rode and drove smooth as silk. But it ate a ton of gas lol.
Nice deal Michael!!!!!! Can not wait to see what you do with the pickup!!!!
the key word for you is "fun" to others its work. So you get lots done
I was kinda hoping that the "gentleman that reached out" was Derek from Vice Grip Garage 😂
Wow u guys did great on how u did your deal. Glad it worked out for you, can't wait to see what this whole internationals all about. Keep them awesome videos coming!!!
Nice save Mike , I thought you two were going to be SOL . There are more twists and turns than a James Bond movie . Great to see you with your dad again . Tell him I said hey , have fun with the new truck . You did good !
Well now, that did work out. The Cadillac still has a purpose, and you've got a decent project in trade. Just promise you won't try a LS swap. Some other UA-cam builder has done that, and while it was interesting, there's not many unmolested International pickups left in the world. I realize that I'm saying this before you have even lifted the hood on this one, guess I just like the old Internationals as they are. I'll be looking forward to seeing this run again.
I want that car just way it is. Put it on display. It’s more art now than anything. Yard Art!
Please do not give up so soon next time! Take a look at junkyard digs. If he can do it you can do it. For shure!!! Thank you. I love your content!!
My grandma had a canary yellow 72 International 4x4 with the 392 and automatic. That truck was a beast! Looking forward to this series. Keep up the great videos!
Awesome how it worked out, looks like a pretty clean International, definitely deserves to live on.
So You did it Michael - The awesome - Looking so much forward to see some videos. Thx
You must have the most patient and understanding wife in the Carolinas, because if I’d brought that home...
Love this channel so much! Glad to see more and more Sub’s. You deserve it brother man!!!
I thought you were crazy getting that Caddy, but of course you're the best at turning lemons into lemonade. Great trade for the International. 👌👍
I'll love to see that International running. Keep up the good content.
Just don't cut the frame or LS swap the International.
That trailer looked like it was barley holding on over there lol
Wow! This is my Dream song 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The truck looks really clean, I hope after getting it running its not turned into Burnout Betty and fixed up properly, not many of them left
Wow, she is just so patient. Quietly waiting for somebody to just touch and feel her body. Waiting for that next breath of air to turn into horsepower and thrust. That next turn of the key, that slow departure from the garage with a brand new shiny finish to show the world.
That car lot was a field of broken dreams
I ran a across & filmed a 56 series 62 in central Manitoba a while back but could not get too close to it. I enjoyed your journey with this one even though you could not get it running. Look forward to what happens to the International truck!
You have skills hopefully the Porsche got a crazy awesome 360 run & drives
Lol I knew that car look familiar I deliver mail to your neighbor all the time
Excellent video brother 👍
There are decent people that actually could and would make that into a show piece motor included
That must’ve been a bad wreck because those things are tough!😬
At least it’s got some good parts Those valve covers are cool wall hangers
great video to see thanks take care
You made out like a bandit. It goes to show good thing come to good people. Oh I'm interested in buying the ih when you get done with it .
I know exactly who bought that caddy Reese rudder!!😎👍 I know his employee jay smart too!!!
Liked the video, I can see a new series “Budget buildz trading up.” 👍🏻
Very nice cadillac
The car is a goldmine for parts even if it’s a four door. All the odd bits are worth money.
Oh man I love them ol scouts. Can't wait.
That was fun. Parts can be stupid expensive on that era Cadillac. Would have been a shame to see it crushed.
The International Truck is very clean. Looking forward to seeing getting it going.
Wow! Great video. I have a 54 Cadillac at home! I hate to see them like this but it happens. SIGH.......
ooooouuuhhh una cadillac, una delle auto piu belle d' america. complimenti
Nice truck !!
Awsome, nice flipping to a another truck project😀👍 Cant wait too see videos of the truck😀😀
Please rebuild 'em don't crush 'em!
fun times for certain, keep up the awesome videos
You keep getting better with your videos!
The blacksnake probably took care of the mice and rats!!
Sweet! Nice turn of fate there with the truck! I have to admit, I was laughing my ass off through most of that video😂
Nice trade indeed yes sir! And nice content most important. Thank you!!!
At one time that car was probably nice in till it got involved in that crash. Looking forward to the videos on the pickup and future videos on the Porsche looking great and any other videos you have in store. Excellent work and thanks for the awesome content stay safe and take care
Nice truck
Ummm. . . .parts car?? Wow, you gotta rack to pull all that damage apart?? Very ambitious.
Great Video liked the 64 Chevy Biscayne at his place
Cool IH truck score
That truck is sweet, looks kinda like the Wrench Every Day one
Looks tidier than the Johnny Rev
Great video, looking forward to videos on the International truck!
A friend of mine had a Cadillac hearse around this vintage, not quite this rough but close, he always was going to get it going to take to Dead concerts but it ended up being used as a chicken coop. I also know of another guy who has his whole property filled with cadillacs from the fifties right through eighties and even though he a wino in his seventies and will never do anything with any of them, some with trees growing through them with his house falling in on him, he wouldn't sell nothing to nobody for any amount of money.
Pull the plugs and fill with marvel mystery oil and let it soak for couple weeks. Worth a shot.
For 100 bucks thats a steal!
Congrats on hitting 65k subscribers !
Thanks so much! Thanks for being a part of our journey!
Hey Michael , are you familiar with Jonathan W’s channel ? He is a very cool guy who has old school knowledge. Recommend
I used to subscribe to him. Hes a liar, like so many others priting from us and youtube
@@mnite7991 I can't imagine anybody saying that about Jonathan. He seems like a super honest guy and extremely knowledgeable! One of the best mechanics I've ever seen. Been subscribed to him for a long time. what makes you say that?
You will have to have the "Luck of the Irish" to pull this one off!
SPARE PARTS JACK POT - well done !!!!
you guys traded up, good job!
I commented before seeing entire video, Can you send me contact info to see if I can make deal on that Pontiac wagon?
The Caddy will go to good use!
Love the truck!
Great swap, I much prefer the truck
Ill bet the new owner of that caddie will get it running, u guys really didnt even try very hard
Nice one Guys 😊👍
LOL. Good luck on the International truck
Nice flip 👍
Nice trade!
If it could only talk love your videos
If money and time wasn't a thing yes I'm sure you COULD rebuild it with ALOT of fabricating and replacing but most won t bother
The whole car has been a nest for many creatures for many years. Are you sure you want to try and start that poor thing? Please be sure to keep a fire extinguisher handy when you crank that thing over! Lol 😆
Pretty decent old international!
In the late 60s it was just a used car. Can't imagine it being given to a college student as a daily commuter these days.
Every video, you guys have idyllic weather, every one...
gotta say never thought you would get it on the trailer, for $100 if nothing else that's cheap fun
100$ well spent.
If you can fix that you can fix anything.
Don't worry, it's all about the patina!
You should do a Crown Vic chassis swap with that truck
Sadly it's too far gone but will make a great parts car for hard to find parts for other 54 Cadillacs.
This motor is weld !!
Yer brave on that one!!!😳😳😳
You dropped off a gem and picked up another gem. You should restore it. They sell for prime money.
My father's '53 Pontiac had a long, narrow 6-volt battery.
I mean for someone who has the required time it would be a perfect classic hot rod or a rat rod project getting it running taking all the damaged parts of getting rid of front clip put in some lights put Sheet metal in the floor pans
just not worth the money probably
Moisture was wicked up through the exhaust pipes pour some ATF mixed with acotone in the cylinders let it soak and keep trying to turn it over I had a motor all frozen like that and the atf and acotone worked
aah the carburated engine, damn you FI cars.
I was wondering who had outbid me on it. I started to stop by when I saw it on the trailer off 178 but was running late for work. I wanted to see if the motor was any good, if you found the air cleaner, and if the tractor behind it was for sale. I'm glad it wasn't just hauled to the crusher.
