Wow 🤩 Myrmecatavola Frances Fox “sun spots” has been on my wish list after seeing it on a MOG video. I wonder if Robin would sell another division or know of another grower in Australia?

I love the Summer blooming Phals that others have overseas but impossible to get my hands on in NZ . But I did get some year old seedlings from a very reliable lady who deflasked them. Some species and Violacea, Belina, Schilleriana, on Trade Me at prices I'm too scared to share for such tiny plants.
Plants are so fickle. It’s hard to justify paying for such young seedlings... but I did learn the hard way!

Phal Mini Mark seems to be rare outside of Europe. I have seen it for sale in the states and there is no way in hell I'm paying $100+ for a Phal. Not even gigantea (unless it was flowering). The LD and KS crosses can be found here pretty readily but, again, I have issues paying $45-$75 for a Phal.
Congrats on the Frances Fox. If mine would ever bloom, it would be nice. Stupid plant. It was advertised as blooming size but, no, not even close. I had ordered two and ended up with five small plants, I gave away four last year, I wonder if they have bloomed.
Michael McCarthy yes very expensive plants! I’d consider paying that for proven flowers and pics of a healthy plant (or trusted seller). People are pretty greedy online these days, and eBay is the worst. But I do like supporting local nurseries / sellers especially if they provide good customer support
It was so nice to see some very happy, healthy house plants. I have a spath, a.k.a. Peace Lily that is 5 feet across, is 43 years old and is in bloom all year long. Currently has 5 huge blossoms. Happiness is getting the orchid you covet and in beautiful condition. Can''t wait to see it thrive and bloom. Stay safe and be well. Looking forward to more videos of your growing world.
Karyl Friedman I don’t have any peace lillies but I have a few anthuriums! They have a mixed existence at our front entrance.. looking fairly sad currently!

@@OrchieDee Thank you for your reply. I am a bit of a hermit when it comes to social media but I will be glad to send photos by email. Some of my Phals were rescue orchids and since then I have over 40 different species plus varieties. Many are seedlings though with new species are getting harder to find which is why I am looking further afield than Australian nurseries

I have a Phal Joy Fairy Tale that I bought from Oceanview Orchids in Tassie. I got it 2 years ago and it was small but very healthy and is almost ready to flower. I’m frequently checking it for a spike! Their orchids are often young but very healthy. I won’t buy seedlings anymore. I’ve lost too many.
Trisha L very encouraging to know they are here! Oceanview are so overpriced for young orchids :/ .. plants always look healthy but I just can’t justify paying it anymore. Let me know if you ever grow a keiki 😂

I bought my Phalaenopsis Joy Fairy Tale from Dean Jackson of Oceanview Orchids last year and I'm so excited it's in bud now 🤗 I also bought my 2 flowering sized Phalaenopsis Lueddemannianas from Alice's Orchids. Both of them have spikes from last year and currently developing new spikes now. One of them has 2 keikis so if you want, I can cut them off and send it to you? Because it really makes no sense for me to own 4 Lueddemannianas 🤦🤣

Congrats on scoring Mcv. Frances Fox 'Sun Spot'. I Googled it and omg what a beauty! 😍 Similar to your search, there are no online nurseries here in the US that have it in stock right now with the exception of two Ebay sellers - one goes for $80.00 USD and the other for a cool $100.00 (includes shipping charge). You are so lucky to have this. Reaching out to Townsville Orchid Society really paid off (valuable tip!). BTW your houseplants look phenomenal. Happy growing 😊

Am going to make a few of you a little jealous... my monstera grows outside in a garden bed... no pots, no fussing, it is just another edible plant here... sorry, my bad
We don't have the large laboratories that are producing billions of seedlings a year along with nurseries... ours are all on the small scale - relatively speaking... have a look at some of the orchid labs in Asia and even that of Ecugenera.
Can you write what that last orchid down as I can't see it in the description so I can google it to see what it looks like and why you think its so special.

I have the first orchid, I purchased it off eBay as a seedling in 2018 it has two spikes at the moment, I saw one a few weeks ago on eBay not sure if it was the same seller? The name of the eBay seller I got mine from was spider20 .
It IS a beautiful phal it’s blooms are so more stunning in real life due to their thick shiny texture and striking colour. ❤️

You might be able to save the bended leaf, tie it up on a stick securely like a splint so it gets a chance to recover. This trick saved a leaf on one of my Phragmipediums once.
liverocks62 thanks :) I did use a stake actually in the end. Hopefully it helps a bit but I find the splinting is more effective with developing leaves and growths. 🤞🏼

I also got one, a gift to myself for my birthday (that was the excuse I used for ordering plants twice in a month).
Mine, unfortunately, isn't doing too well, I had a pretty good sized plant, with 5 pbulbs and 1 new growth, however, one of the middle bulbs got some sort of bacterial rot on the upper side, and I didn't notice it had veined down to the rhyzome.
When I did notice, I had to chop off 2 middle bulbs, so, now, I got stuck with one section with the 2 oldest pbulbs and another with just the newest bulb, that is still growing a new pbulb. Hopefully, I'll save them, however that will set the plant back quite a lot😰
rianmilit it sounds like you saved it in time! Shame to lose bulbs but if you’ve got a few front bulbs that’s the important thing!
