Thanks lovely... sloooowly unpacking still! Probably shouldn't have gotten rid of half our furniture before moving lol. But I'm kinda looking forward now to setting up a little nursery and hopefully can get the shadehouse set up before the new year (fingers crossed, but it does seem to be a very busy time for gardeners / landscaping)

When you were packing those up, did you ask yourself, "why do I have so many Phals?" Yes to a tour of the new house and I hope Toby is doing okay (at least as well as can be expected). Take care.
noooo I love my phals!! Toby is actually looking well and kind of back to his normal self which is amazing. But he has a large tumour in his heart which will continue to grow and likely one day bleed again :(. We have him on some medication that might mitigate that somewhat, but it won't hold it off forever. For now, he's a very happy pup again :)
It's about 20 minutes from the old place. Brisbane is not a huge city, although we are now on the other side of the river and technically 'Southsiders'!
Light quality is (in my opinion) the biggest factor for nice bloom spikes. A drop in temperature to initiate spikes, then bright light (which doesn't burn) - so LED's if growing inside i think really made a difference for my collection.
Congratulations on your new home Dee. I'm sure that your pups will love the backyard. If you are expecting hard sun in the back, perhaps consider Frangipanis? There are some colourful beauties out there.
Frangipani have sap if you cut them and the leaves drop in winter. Even in Bris Vegas. If you need help, the Frangipani Society of Australia have a public Facebook page. I have about 20 in my small yard!!!!

I struggled with bad scale on a couple of my twinkles this year. Sadly had to throw a small one out before the move :(
