Blooms on the Back Deck & .... a little sad news

- Moving more orchids today! Some updates on the back deck before the move.
Plus a little bit of sad news, our little Toby was diagnosed with a pericardial effusion (fluid in the sac around his heart) secondary to a tumour in his heart bleeding. He is currently in the vet's getting some symptomatic relief, but prognostically it's not looking great for our little guy. He's such a beautiful boy, and this is the hardest part about having pets. Our hearts are breaking but our main aim is to keep him comfy and giving him the best life possible with the time we have left with him .

Really enjoyed this video |Orchid Dee but not the part where your pet was unwell....hope he recovers quickly. Loved the blooms you showed us especially the very beautiful yellow cattleya and the lovely dendrobiums.

You know my heart goes out to you and poor Toby. Did the vet give you any idea how long?
And poor Frankie, he clearly loves his brother and it's going to be tough on him. 2020, the gift that keeps on giving.
He is getting discharged today :) They drained heaps of blood/fluid from around his heart and in his lungs. He's apparently doing well so can't wait to see him! But unfortunately the tumour will likely bleed again - it's a ticking time bomb. The vet said likely 2-4 weeks, but there are a few variables. Depends if he bleeds again (which he likely will), but also we aren't able to diagnose the tumour, it's likely to be an aggressive type giving him just a couple months. :'( So we are just going to make the most of our time with our little man and hope for the best. I'm praying he'll get to meet his little sister in Feb, even though it's unikely :(

Oh honey :(, such sad news! It is such a heart wrench when our fur babies become old and sick. Hope Toby's time left is full of love, cuddles and lots of pats. As always your orchids are spectacular xx

The dendrobium lindleyi supposedly should have a honey fragrant. I have one spike on mine and will be so disappointed if no fragrance lol as I bought it purely for the honey fragrance lol

fingers crossed that Toby will do well soon. Yes the things we do for our pets. I am seeing a pattern here I would say that yellow booms are your favorite. I need to say that they are all gorgeous. Have a great day/week as you are moving your plants.

They really are our babies! So hard to let go of them.
Such sadness we go through with our pets. My son just had to put his Frenchie to sleep (the one with same markings as Frankie). All we can do is love them and keep comfortable.

Last time on that deck? For YT I mean 😃 keeping my fingers crossed and sending good vibes to Tobi (y) ... I had a wiener called Toby when in Kenya 🥰 I think our brain associates a color with a fragrance... not all the time, but a lot of the time ... my Sagarik Wax has the deepest Bordeaux color which reminded me of port wine and that is what I could describe her fragrance as. Hope everything is going smoothly for you... again good vibes to pup!! 🥰

How is Toby today?
He came home yesterday. He is actually looking really good. Sadly there is a tumour in his heart which is likely to re-bleed but for now his symptoms are good.. so bittersweet. We are just planning on making the most of our time with him :)
@@OrchieDee Oh poor Toby, poor you and Jared. It won't be easy, even knowing its coming it won't be easy. All you can do is what is right by Toby when the time comes and know in your heart he had the best all his life. So little, but they fill big spaces we didn't know we had in our hearts. 💔💗
