Blink twice if you need help Hayley! Jokes aside I learned to do power clean and just now figured out why I have so much trouble doing it. I never learned that part about the knee (movement 2) and about the glute activation in movement 3. Great vid as aways!

ha ha - that is hilarious - I am glad she demonstrated the right way to do this lift - her form is a perfect model to follow. I like this lift because it work so many parts overall but I suck at it.

Her form and technique is so precise and textbook perfect. No wonder I suck at this lift - I have such sloppy form compared to her crisp movements

Seriously when he asked her to slow down I was like “what did I just watch? What kind of human moves like this.” Just awe inspiring for those who know what lifting is supposed to look like. There is 0 waste in any of her movement.

Came here for power cleans as title suggests but this is about full depth cleans. I lift at home and have no platform so can not risk full depth lifts in case I need to bail out :D

I am 5' 8" tall. I was visiting my friends in Germany who I had played basketball with 10years earlier. We were playing some pick up basketball and I was almost dunking it, just getting the ball caught on the rim or bouncing off it, etc... The few months previous I had been doing heavy Cleans and Dead lifts, hadn't been playing any basketball.

I played everyday for a year obsessively with no weightlifting, pretty much got worse. Started lifting heavy for 2-3 months and already improved 2x more than in that year

@@Piarh They're not all 10 feet. Generally I think many park hoops are between 9'9 and 9'11 and some are even shorter. There's the occasional park that has one hoop that's around 9'6 or so. I know 2 parks like that.

@@gmaxsfoodfitness3035it varies a lot i mean i dont live in the US but the Park hoops are different heights the Park where i usually play has 4 Hoops
      1 is actually 10'
2 are like 9'4 or something
4th one is 9' maybe even like 8'10 only

so is it or is it not bumping the bar on your thighs to give that extra push? I saw another video and they really concentrated on the part where you bump the bar on your thighs before pulling it all the way up.

Garage Strengths explanation of the clean really proves that most American coaches misunderstand of the oly lifts work. They only explain what they see in the movements and not the reason or the intentions.

I do not see it often that knee flexion is actively being coached.
Atleast it Europe we not teach it as it happens naturally.
