Amiga Test Kit Serial and Parallel Dongles build and test

- Amiga test kit is something you've no doubt seen me use a few times in the past to test various aspects of an Amiga computer but the one thing I've been unable to test up until now is the serial and parallel ports.
To do that I need the loop back dongles and so Steve from the CRG discord ordered the required PCBs from the shared projects section at PCBWay. He very kindly sent me a few boards, I've got the parts for them here so lets put them together and test my A1200s serial and parallel ports.

The spare set of dongles are gone.
Neat video Glen! Keir Fraser, author of Amiga Test Kit, is also responsible for the FlashFloppy firmware that makes Gotek drives so useful in retro kit.
I build a set of them, just soldering connections in DB25 plugs, as shown in test kit and LED plus resistor. Drilled holes for LEDs in DB25 housing. Really handy for testing :) Does not look as good as the ones you build, but they work.
Also made a set of them for a friend who has a shop here in Denmark, selling vintage computers.
They have helped me a few times, when having serial fault on A500 PCB. I have repaired a few A500 machines, that had faulty U38/U39.
I would add plastic housings to prevent damage and keep the àssembies safe during insertion/removal.
Maybe make a video on how to build the serial cable that allows simultaneous diagrom use/viewing on a PC (unless it's a null modem).
A plastic housing would be handy, I'll see if I can come up with something to suit the LEDs I used. The serial cable for diagrom is just a standard null modem cable so probably doesn't need a video per say but the next time I'm using diagrom in a video I'll make sure to clarify that point.

Did you not have an episode where you built the Z2 SID card (or did I got confused with someone elses channel)?
Yes I had but it was taken down for reasons I'd prefer not to get into again. There were some concerns over a logo on the pcb.

@@CRGbut the volume output on yours was fine? You did not have to add an amp to get good sound levels?
No it worked fine but I had it routed through the prelude sound card so that may have amplified it slightly.
