      Hi There! I should have known better than to go out in that mud.. 😦 Oh well, a hard lesson learned. As for the finds, I really like the sample Kitchen Bouquet bottle. I didn't know they existed, and I collect sample bottles. I also like the (compact lid?) with the people dancing!
      Glad you enjoyed the video. Sorry for the drama at the end! 😵 😬

      Hi Cynthia! We'd been there so many times before, and twenty years in our local river... Never have we ever gotten so stuck!! That mud had suction! Drew told me not to go out there.. sigh. 😦 Anyway, we went back a couple of weeks later.. a little wiser. I think my favorite finds were that (compact lid?) and the Kitchen Bouquet sample bottle (and the marbles Lol). 😁💖

    Oh boy. When you started showing how deep you were standing in that mud, I swear my blood pressure started going up! So glad that you were able to get assistance. Also glad that you shared that experience as a cautionary tale. This is why I don’t like to go out much on the mud flats on my local tidal rivers…I don’t care how many marbles are out there - just too much soft mud for me. 😀

    Oh dear... true mudlarking... I know it's impossible when you're filming everything, but I always, always lark with a stick. My 3rd leg and my possible rescue if I get stuck. Also a good way to tesy how seep the mud is, so I can compare that to my boot height. Glad you made it out w/ no injuries other than ego perhaps. I've always wanted waders, but am a bit afraid of just this. I'd be happy to leave a boot behind!

    • @massriverpickers
      @massriverpickers  7 місяців тому +1

      Actually, I use my grabber to test and steady myself (why I keep mangling them Lol). But I had the grabber, and Drew had a long handled rake. The mud swallowed them both, without a trace!! My boots were attached, but my feet kept coming out of the foot part, ever time I tried to take a step! And yes... Drew lost a boot.
      No injuries, just sore muscles the next day, from all the struggling. And MY bruised ego. (Drew told me not to go out there, but I did anyway.. 😬). I hear that what else you REALLY need to watch out for is getting your chest waders full of water! I could have escaped the suit, but where would I go?? Down into more mud, without the suit! Sigh... Lessons learned.

    Hello Cathy and Drew. This was a awesome video to watch like all of them and Lew and i enjoyed watching it very much. That spot paid off for some nice bottles again and a few marbles & relics to. The Dr. Miles bottles are always nice to find. The baby's butt part of this video was hilarious to watch. Maybe a little spooky to,, LOL! Evil baby doll butts! LOL! That Buick car piece was interesting to see and probably went to a early car. Wow, that was so horrible when you both got stuck in the low tide mud.(It's almost like quick sand, right?) Glad to see you were able to use you cell phone and be saved. This could of been a tragedy possibly. Hopefully next time you will find better stuff and we know you will never let yourselves get stuck in the mud again. I went to the Big E train show in Springfield MA with my friends and had a good time. I put those videos on our new Jeffrey Hull Jr channel if you or anyone else to would like watch them. Lew couldn't make it and I bought some nice stuff that wasn't too much money and I will put a video on my channel to show them on there. We are looking forward to watching more of your videos.
