hey everyone! just wanted to say thanks for watching! The channel just turned 2 years old last week and its been really great to read all of your super nice comments! we really appreciate it. should be having new videos coming out for the next few months at least. we have a few extra videos available right now on our patreon if you want to watch now, and be sure to follow us on our socials. links are in the description. Thanks!!!! you guys are the best
Hey man huge fan of of your channel started watching channel since it started before you had 10 subscribers! A bow to you and your camera man from MN your Catholic Subscriber!
The stack of glass panes may also have been photography plates, they looked to be the right size. Have you ever run a metal detector over the spoils from these pits? I have found a lot of coins and tokens and keys that way
For some reason I like the shape of the bitters bottles, the pickle jars, and I really like an olive oil bottle you dug up in a previous dig. What a fascinating job you have. I call it a job but as they say if you like what you do it's not work. And it's obvious you like what you do. Remember you are out there digging for all of us who wish we could.
Congratulations on two years! Love all the history information you give when you dig something out. My old eyes have some difficulty with the small print, but I stop the video when I need to so I can use my magnifying glass! Keep up the great work!
Hi Tom and jake it's always amazing to see open fields we're once there was a town if it wasn't for the bottles you wouldn't know it ,got some good items from the pit
Happy 2yrs, thanks for coming on UA-cam and sharing, a great journey, privy by privy through Dakota 😂 I would never have thought it would be so interesting with beautiful finds.
Awesome video as always. Found some beautiful bottles. And that little jug was really cool. The little donkey or ox was really neat. Love your Tom. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Tom, Just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos. I've watched all of your episodes on your new Tom Askgem channel and now I'm binge watching all of these episodes. I love your editing and how you add both the history of the old companies and especially how you add the old advertisements. The only bottles I collect are those that contain uranium, cadmium, or manganese. For me it's all about the glow under UV blacklight. My 1,000+ collection encompasses glass of all shapes and sizes but focus on anything UV reactive. One of my favorites is a 1/2 gallon vaseline ink bottle. It glows extremely hot under blacklight. Wish I could share a photo with you.
It’s nice to know that things I have used will be available to folks a hundred years from now. I only drink bottled beer and when bottles are no longer available I will stop drinking beer. Cans suck.
Very nice finds Tom, the roots looked difficult. I was amazed that the handle was still on the pitcher. Loved the crock. I was hoping more dish ware would have been in there. Great dig.👍👏😀
Awesome digs man , I absolutely love that salt glazed liquor jug ! Very cool . Nothing like that around here . Thanks for sharing. Would be interested in the jug .
Love your channel, love your commentary. I hear the smile in your voice when you find something nice, not ear-splitting yips blasting the mic. Keep up the great work!
Love to see a video where you talk about how you got started doing this. What has been your most favorite finds. The in's and out's of digging in these outhouse pits. Etc. I sometimes get a bit grossed out just thinking about where you're digging. 😂❤
I do love watching as you dig for treasures. You do not seem fazed by the left over excrement, which being ancient guess it is not dangerous. Me being an old female I tend to worry about such things as that. On the other hand your ability to find places to dig and the things you find is just so much fun to watch. My ex was a scuba diver and found places where in the old days people would dump in the water. Out of sight, so forth.
Do you ever run across abandoned cemeteries in these types of ghost towns? Does the state or the municipality ever take responsibility for maintenance of these sites? Thanks for the interesting videos!
I’ve found some cool stuff, but never anything close to the wonderful things you guys have found. You sure know your stuff too. You’ve taught this old gal quite a bit, which I thank you for. I only wish I had started digging a lot earlier, it sure would have been easier than it is now…lol…
HA, Tom. Would there be a way you could display your website to where we could purchase your bottles? Also. I'm a newer follower, and have spent hours & hours, through days of catching up on all your videos, which I think are GREAT. Thanks for having us along.
I am sure others have asked this, but what do you do with your finds? I assume some pieces are valuable. I will be looking at bottles in antique stores a lot differently now. Thanks for the great information! From Colorado.
I took a ghost town photography day trip with a friend the summer after we finished high school in 2008 and we stopped in Heaton. There were still a few buildings left then. Some of my favorite photos came from that trip.
Great video! Whoever is doing your video recording, is doing a great job! Makes ther vid just that much more interesting. You should introduce him/her to uis !!
Hello, I am enjoying your channel. I like the background info that you give on an object when you pull an object out of the ground, however, the print is kind of small for me to see on my phone. I was wondering if you could enlarge the print and just maybe put it across the screen in sections or so.
The Lagina brothers should take you to Oak Island to dig up out house pits. You would find more and better things than they have for the last 10 years.
Love watching your videos, my hubby and I want to know why you get so excited to find soda bottles? Are they worth good money or just a favorite for you to find? Have you ever come to CT to dig?
Ive actually dug bottles out there in old mine camps and explored some old mines in the black hills. I didn't find anything remarkable but I know some people do. Some old levis would be alright haha
It blows my mind to think people in the past threw their garbage down the hole, thinking it will never be seen again. If they knew people over 100 years later would be digging it back up, their minds would be blown too.
Just saw a video of Havre, Montana where the town literally moved underground to the building basements after a fire burnt the entire town down. Bet their out houses are great
We've actually tried working with them, and some of the folks from the state historical society were absolutely bitter and refused to work with us, unfortunately.

Alka-Seltzer contains three active ingredients: aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid) (ASA), sodium bicarbonate, and anhydrous citric acid. The aspirin is a pain reliever and anti-inflammatory, the sodium bicarbonate is an antacid, and the citric acid reacts with the sodium bicarbonate and water to form effervescence. Wiki So not dangerous.

Uh huh 🤔?
Thank you for including us in your bottle hunting adventure.
I love history. I really enjoy where you dig and what you find. Stories start forming in my mind. I have driven all over the Midwest.
You are my favourite when it comes to bottle digging. Love not only the history you give when showing what you dug but also the dig itself
Can't tell you how much I enjoy these. You must feel like a time traveler sometimes.
Another jug for you personal collection? The collection we'd love to see.
I surprisingly dont have much of a collection. I sold most of it to fund a couple books Ive been writing
@BelowthePlains That's fantastic! Good luck with the writing. I'm keen to know more when the time is right.
another awesome dig. Love all the embossed beers and that mineral water!

I like these shorter versions best. Even if they are two parts. Great video. Thanks
Love your videos they are so therapeutic and I love learning about the past and seeing your wonderful treasure finds!!!

Your amazing you find a lot of nice bottles
😅Thank you for all your descriptions. Good filming as usual. Regards UK.
Thank you for sharing with us.
I believe the glass plates at 18:25 were old 5X7 glass plate negatives.
Love your channel, love your commentary. I hear the smile in your voice when you find something nice, not ear-splitting yips blasting the mic. Keep up the great work!
I am so happy for you, Tom! Congratulations on your continued channel's success! So interesting and cool to watch and learn about!

I'll bet you were always a worrywart. A lot of old females are never fazed by things like that.
Some of the colors are absolutely amazing 😮
Another great dig... couldn't believe the jug and the pitcher ...keep on digging...🥰🥰
Do you ever run across abandoned cemeteries in these types of ghost towns? Does the state or the municipality ever take responsibility for maintenance of these sites? Thanks for the interesting videos!
As someone who loves glass, I am just giddy watching you dig up bottles.
Nice video again. Great to see the history this way
Good see you Tom, have a wonderful 2024, always love your channel 👍🙏
Good dig😊Stay well, keep digging I'll keep watching. Happy New Year, too. Like to read your book when it's done.
Awesome as always. All the best.

awesome digging this week thanks
Hi from Australia 👋 I love seeing your finds. Thanks for documenting your digs 🤗

thanks for watching!

Happy Belated Birthday!!!
I’m amazed at the number of intact bottles you find!
Have you ever found human bones?

That’s for sure haha
Do you clean the bottles up after your shows? would you mind showing what your bottle finds look like after they are cleaned up if you dont mind?
Very cool.
What do you do with all the bottles that you find?
Do you ever dig in Minnesota?
Love watching your videos, my hubby and I want to know why you get so excited to find soda bottles? Are they worth good money or just a favorite for you to find? Have you ever come to CT to dig?
Great video!!!!! Did the cast iron toy clean up well? Was there any kind of makers mark???
I wish I lived in an area thats old and can produce things like this, but I'm in Cali where we go old mine diving
Ive actually dug bottles out there in old mine camps and explored some old mines in the black hills. I didn't find anything remarkable but I know some people do. Some old levis would be alright haha
Was the pitcher intact? Couldnt quite make out if the spout was broken.
That Franzen building was knocked down a while ago.
Your videos would make a great drinking game! Take a drink for every liquor flask or beer bottle 😂
What do you do with all of the things you find? I would love to see that side of your adventures!
You should try putting in the estimated worth of some of the bottles and stuff it Would help with the excitement
It blows my mind to think people in the past threw their garbage down the hole, thinking it will never be seen again. If they knew people over 100 years later would be digging it back up, their minds would be blown too.
I just wish you’d use a metal detector at least a few times, what if I mean really what if? Well fun to watch. Good luck on your finds.
Please show the haul cleaned up at the end! It's fascinating, but we'd like to actually see what you dig up.
What do you do with the bottles and pottery that you find? Do you have a shop that you sell them on, or what?
So glad for another video great to see you guys again ❤😊
You dig a lot of common bottles, what do you do with them?😎
The second place you dug was maybe a ladies rest room as always see you on the next one
We all need to spend a little more time down outhouse holes, eh. Can you dig it? 🐭🐭🐭🐭🐭🐭
Just saw a video of Havre, Montana where the town literally moved underground to the building basements after a fire burnt the entire town down. Bet their out houses are great
What do you two do during the winter?
Do you register your finds appropriately with the pertinent State Archaeologist Office?

Why are there so many prescription bottles in the holes.lots of beer bottles too

I love how archaeology calls ancient garbage dumps "caches". We learn so much from what ancient civilizations discarded as useless junk.
What becomes of all this stuff you uncover?
There may have been a pharmacy next door to the hotel.

Tide!
