Thank you so much Leo for doing the tone comparison! The Mooer sound closer to the real deal and the Boss was definitely shrill in comparison. I still think that Boss makes great products, and like a lot of people have already mentioned, they make great effects. I think considering everything you mentioned, the Mooer is a great plug-and-play option for live gigging and the Boss is a great option for experimenting and recording in the studio. Thanks again!!
As far as over all sound and tone, goes to The Mooer...only wish it had the options of the Boss. Wanting a new board and still can't decide. I'm still using the Boss ME-70 haha.
Great comparison, Leo. I ended up buying the GE 300. When I updated v3.0.4 on my MacBook, Mooer Studio didn't start. Do you know what it could be? Then I downgraded to v3.0.1…
Hi, thank you, I'm happy that you like the video! Actually it didn't work also for me...but I though that the problem was my M1 Mac...therefore I went to an intel Mac and it worked... Thank you!
Mooer is big, it's very natural and honest. Boss takes a beating in this comparison. Honestly, I've been buying products from so many brands for years, but the Chinese won me over. They are really bringing standard products above the competitors and high-end construction with excellent technology. We musicians only have to win
Hi Leo. Great video as always! I have 3 questions for you. How is the transition when pressing the knobs in both units? Do you here a gap, a click or is there a seamless transition? How about the trails of reverbs and delays when switching between the knobs? Also, can the Boss unit do a stomp-box mode for live situations (switching effects on and off)? I know that it has been a year since this video, but is there another multieffects unit nowadays in the same price range that is superior? Thank you,
Leo, your videos are just amazing, I always come back here to check them out. I have a GX100 and I'm very happy with it, great sounds and really nice flexibility. Grazie mille. Cheers from BRazil.
Thanks for the share, Leo. BOSS just sounded a little light than the Mooer overall. But GE 300 Lite sounds good a better buy especially on the pricing😬🤘🏾#staysafe
Hi Leo, I’m new to your channel and I’m loving it. To hear these fx/modellers compared is awesome. Would it be possible in future to alternate which modeller goes first after hearing the original amp/ sound source - or to replay the original amp in between both modellers? I feel it would make for an even fairer review - as the sound of the original gets lost (for us with short spans of attention!) when a modellers version is played. Thanks.
Hi, thank you, I'm happy that you like the videos...Good suggestion, I will see what I can do, even if some other viewers suggest that I have to try to reduce the length of the videos...where in this case I'm gonna increased even more....Nevertheless it is for sure a good suggestion...or maybe I can add even more timestamps....so you can jump from one to the other as you want...
@@LeoGibsonGtr thanks for the response Leo - I’m not sure that your videos would have to be longer (not that it would be a bad thing!) - you could use shorter length samples or as you say, time stamp it for the more impatient viewer - but it would allow a direct comparison between original sound source and imitation. Keep up the great work.
Hi Leo, how would you say the mooer ge300 compares to the Ampero 2 Stomp in terms of sound? especially with clean and edge of breakup tones. Thanks. Loved the video!
Hi Victor! I don't have done a direct comparison yet...so I'm not quite sure...to check out the edge of the breakup tones I should do a direct comparison listening pretty carefully...Sorry...
Hi Leo, great video. Also I like the sound of Mooer GE 300 great and feels more warm to me. GX 100 sounds more digital than natural to me. Can you make a video with more possibility of synch tones of GE 300 to me like sounds as accordion, strings, clarinet etc. ? I want to find out is this possible on GE 300. I did not buy GE 300 yet, I am thinking about to buy Mooer GE 300 and stil doubt with BOSS GT-1000 at the moment. What will your advice to me?
Leo can u please make a comparison on Moore ge 300 vs helix lt please... A comparison in which both the unit reach their full potential..... Tweaking the heck out of both the unit and making a preset which sounds as close as mesa boogie jp 2c + John Petrucci tone preset .. ..... I want a new processor and i m confused what to get ge 300 or helix lt .....
Hi, thank you for your suggestion! A comparison between the GE and the Helix LT is feasible, a comparison focused on the Petrucci tone is more difficult and maybe more limited in terms of audience. Maybe you could also be interested in the Neural DSP Petrucci plugin that I have reviewed in this video: ua-cam.com/video/GJJQt0_Mly8/v-deo.html Thank you!
The Moore GE 300 sounds better on the amp modeling, but the Boss GX 100 sounds better on effect emulation, I prefer the Mooer GE 300 because it has more to offer plus it profiles amps etc.
My main criteria between those two would be the price, both of them sound great to me. BUT, since XLR outputs come in handy to me and I don't really care about experimenting with the chain order, I'd go GE300. Great video!
I would love to hear these two into an amp for a real live playing situation.. I don't want the speaker simulation I just want pedal board that I can chuck on a plane arrive plug and play to the back line that's provided. Just got the Valeton GP200 to test out and it's actually really good going into an amp as a pedal board but not versatile enough.
Hi Brent....unfortunately I don't have the Triple Crown...it is a superb amp...but unfortunately it's not in my studio... Thank you for your suggestion and your message!
it is funny how detailed tone comparison was done, and after that, instead of discussion about tones, discussion is about touch screen, stereo out etc. Very nice first part of the review which is practical, and discussion that really did not sit down with the context. To my opinion both have nice menu, and screen so it is not deciding parameter, and the tone from mooer is much more close to the original. Maybe more comparison would be useful in terms of tone capture possibilities though.
Definitely the Boss for me. It sounded like it would cut through the mix much better, whereas the Moor sounded like it could lose it’s punch in a mix with a bass and drums. But then again, I have a couple Boss pedals already, so maybe my ears are just more conditioned to their sound more than Moor.
Thank you so much for this comparison! I think i would be happy with the ge300. It sounded good and the MNRS Profiles (not sure if its called that) are very interesting as well. The only thing I miss in the Boss Octaver. But the Mooer hab an FX Loop... so i can add mine
In the amp-sound comparison the Mooer is the clear winner for me. In the effects I'd say the Boss has a slightly better tone, but very close. So overall I'd still prefer the Mooer, also because I'm mostly playing small live shows where I don't need a touchscreen but the balanced outs.
@@小牛-o5f You wouldn't have to....every venue and studio has them already. Even small ones....anywhere where music is performed has them. But it would probably be a good idea to carry your own too, just in case. So, you're willing to carry guitars and modeling units, but not a couple DI boxes that are the size of a pedal? They'd fit in the guitar case easily, or in the pocket of whatever you use to carry the modeler; not to mention they are inexpensive. It's for these reasons I said they aren't required. It's a nice feature to have built into the modeler, sure, but certainly no show-stopper.
For tones, the differences in modern Modelers is generally insignificant within a price range and feature set. For features, everyone has to decide what the need. As far as quality goes, the Boss seems a little better. Which would I choose? Well, I wouldn't choose Boss, because of my past experience of them stopping from providing repair parts directly to customers. I consider that bad Customer Support, so I won't be purchasing any of their products. Thanks
@@LeoGibsonGtr Yeah, I've got an old Boss GT-6 the pots go bad periodically, and act like you've engaged them, even though you haven't. 😵 I would replace the bad pots, when I could get the correct ones directly from Boss/Roland. The pots are made by Taiwan Alpha, and have custom specs, as they are made specifically for Boss. Foolish of them to treat a customer who has spent thousands of dollars on Boss and Roland gear like that. They probably didn't know I'd be so willing to share my story with other potential customers. Their loss, literally and financially.
