    That engine is pretty shiny, must not have many hours on it especially for an exhaust valve issue or any known issues the 160/190 honda.

    You did not list the circular grinder attachment that's used to wipe clean the old adhesive from the cylinder.
    So now, would you please post it here for us, your viewers so that we can buy one for this job?
    Thank you for this 2 part video and again, thank you for posting all the needed tools and parts for this task.

      Please do not stay in one area too long because you will make an uneven surface. Move quickly around the edge.

      No need for a grinder attachment. You can use a razor blade to remove the RTV. Need to be careful though since the steel blade can mar the aluminum.

    Where is the part 2 to reassemble? I’m particularly interested in how you reseat the piston rings without a special tool.

    Great video, thank you. But is it worth all that time to see if a valve is bent? When do you cut your losses and just buy a new machine?

    • @JOATD
      @JOATD  Місяць тому

      @scw8165 well it would only cost you about $100 to fix it to buy a new one it will cost you about $300 or more. If the motor tears up I would just go on Marketplace find me a cheap lawn mower that has the same motor for 50 bucks and swap them out

      @@JOATDI have a gcv 160 on a Ryobi pressure washer that I suspect has a bent valve. Thanks again, the video is very helpful, maybe I’ll give it a shot if time permits.

    @MrDISCOBRITCHES Рік тому +1

    Did you tear it down because there was no compression? Also, how did you know it was the exhaust valve or did you check both?

    • @JOATD
      @JOATD  Рік тому

      I remove the spark plug and performed a compression test. I didn't receive any pressure. I remove the valve cover to check to see if any of the valves where stuck and the exhaust valve was stuck open. Sometimes you can Lube it a little and it is fine but most of the time it's bent. If you go with this procedure please make sure that you do not knock the valve into the compression chamber. You will have to take the motor apart to get it out.

      @MrDISCOBRITCHES Рік тому +1

      I tore down the engine yesterday and found out the piston arm had shattered into pieces. Have you ever been able to replace the piston arm? I wonder what caused that.
