I like to watch these videos of you talking about what you should be preemptively be thinking/feeling when turning towards electrical engineering. The problem is sometimes I like to lie to myself lol. For example, the interest in math for me is truly real, but I would never find myself doing math in my free time. Do I like math and enjoy the journey to the answer and how it works? Truly yes, but I never find myself doing it in my free time. I do love understanding physics and I am super excited to learn how designing hardware and software correlates altogether. My discipline definitely needs work, but from your videos I do believe I can develop myself to become a very good engineer. Thanks.

hey, I'm about to start my 1st year of EE too. I relate to the loving doing math and physics but never actually doing it in my free time part soo much. I've thought about why this is so and i think it just boils down to habit& Having the right environment. Sure math and physics are fun but definitely require more effort and energy. If we started doing What we love the most, even by force We'll definitely stick to it over Fucking around on the internet(in my case lol). Also if we hang out and talk to ppl who are genuinely putting effort by doing projects & learning stuff, it sure makes it more likely that We'll do the same

Thank you Ali! This is a great message. I have been an electrical engineer for almost 7 years and getting ready to start my masters this year. I liked what you said about promoting yourself. I have always being kind of doubtful about posting about my personal engineering projects online, at some point I feel like no one cares, but your point about showing the world what you are able to do is just 100% truth! I will try to post more about the projects I work on. In addition, I need to improve my soft skills, it is always difficult for me to express my self. I usually have the right words like 3 hours later haha! Please keep posting videos, I learn a lot from you.

@@DonkiKong777 Everything related to electricity as well as the field of computing. Disadvantages is the math and physics are too hard and the field is too broad that students may don't know where to specialize or which class to take. Should take some time to find your own path.

These videos give me much needed guidance and confidence. As I am going in for my first year for robotics engineering. Even though it’s a bit different from electrical engineering they have a lot of overlap and i find a lot of good information from this channel.

Great information and advice. Ali is spot on in my opinion- and experience after 48 years in electrical engineering. I began in radio and microwave communication which turned into circuit board design and eventually into computer (digital systems) design and software development. Ali’s 10 “things” exactly mirror my advice to anyone who wants a career in electrical engineering.

im just finishing my first year in EE and for me, the single caveat is the lack of time, we had a hectic year so many things got canceled and we crammed as much info as we could, but I literally had no time for anything but studying, and don't get me wrong I love learning but I need at least a few hours a week to relax and do something else.
rn I'm waiting for the last exam of the year (in DSA) and afterwards I hope ill be able to learn everything we missed this year and maybe even tackle a project to start my LinkedIn page.

Great video. I've watched a couple now. You will soon have far more subscribers, for sure. Quick question, I know you're American, i live in London, i install heat pumps and training for my electrical quals at the moment. I can't afford Uni but if i had my time again i'd study electrical engineering. Are there any clubs I can join that just play or have fun with circuit boards and a bit of software to go with it? Who knows i might even start trying out some of the physics that go with it. Thanks for any advice or tips.

Hello Ali, my name is Angel and am currently in my undergrad in electrical engineering, and I would love to see some of the projects you’ve worked on. Could you possibly make a video diving into a project you loved and one you struggled with? And maybe end the video showing us your PHD plaque that would be sick🫡.

10:23 When you talk about the broadness of the degree, do you still have it once you graduate? Because I imagine once you specify in bachelors/masters this narrows it down pretty much right?
    Keep it up bro 🙏🏼

I have the opportunity to study Electro-mechanical Engineering (not Mechatronics) which is Electrical and Mechanical engineering combined, do you think this is a good option in terms of how future proof it is? The University says it is handy for designing things 2 engineers would have had to work on (Electrical and Mechanical) by your self.

Hi Ali I wanted to ask is it ok to fail class. The reason why I am asking is I took circuits 2 this summer and I failed now I could ask my professor to get me a seat in the class to pass the class, but I will learn little to nothing in the class so I'm thinking about taking a class again. Let me know if this is the right choice.
