You have to get through the sequence just before this with Jason and Nick quickly. If you do it fast enough, they will rescue Eric up as he's being pulled down by the weight of Rachel on the rope.
I went for nick solely for the reason that Eric deserves better, this was a marriage and you couldn't be bothered to wait a year to bang someone esle when you are the reason for his accident. Eric is a good man and only gets back with Rachel if he proves to her he will always be there for her which is dumb when you consider she completely ditched him, so much for through sickness and health

I think they’re both flawed. She moved on but was inconsiderate not to tell Eric. But it’s implied that Eric left her and often takes his anger out on her by bringing up the accident. They both made their mistakes and decided to move on from them.
If you make Salim lie and get Eric and Jason killed, Rachel will avenge him. She'll beat Salim or shot him cold blooded. If you hate her and thinks she doesn't give a fck about Eric, play or watch those choices. She's badass.

Another thing about Salim is that he can be hypocritical in my opinion, for example when Rachel is attacked by a monster he can choose to not save her and save himself instead. This happens right after Salim preaches the messege "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" through the words "we should look beyond our uniforms" or something similar.If Salim really considers them his friend he should have saved Rachel to prove his point.
