Rachel was that character who can't get through a chapter without going like "ew Eric why are you being so reassuring i can survive on my own duh" and then spends the entire game getting her ass saved by everyone, only to say at the end that she was stronger than everyone else. Now THAT'S an annoying character

At one point in the game you must either get Salim injured in order to protect her or have everyone else deciding not to shoot her and exposing themselves to carry her into some random cocoon with the risk of her turning on them at any second. She can't make it if you don't do at least one of those two things, and that's the best scenario: if you make bad decisions you also have to ensure she doesn't walk straight up on tripwires and have to save her multiple times against the vampire dude. But whatever happens she still does her stupid little monologue in the end credits. Anyway i just don't like the way she sees herself as a strong, independent character who carries the whole team while her survival entirely depends on everyone else's help. She's also a terrible person overall, and she can commit the ultimate crime: she can shoot Salim in a specific scenario that can only occur if he saved her ass a few hours before. Which is literally what this video is about.
“Spends the entire game getting saved by everyone” last time I checked she pulled herself out of the blood pit and saved Jason & everyone else by using the machine gun. And also Eric was being an entire simp to her the entire time when it was his fault they split up in the first place. She made it extremely clear to him after he didn’t come back for her after the accident but is still like “wahhhh I want you back wahhhh”.
It's all depent on what you choose. If you want your character bad, you choose bad. If you want your character good toward each other, you choose good. If you're a psychopath who choose every character to kill each other then choose all bad dialogue you can pick it's all on you. That's all i like from DPA
So that marks four places where Salim can die: 1. Before the elevator, battling the vampires 2. The elevator leaves him (if Jason decides to leave him), leading him to die off-screen 3. In the elevator, by Rachel 4. The finale in the hut I wonder, how do you get Rachel into the elevator (not cocooning her) if Eric is dead that early though?
Salim and Nick both have to kill the vampire, and its corpse is brought to Eric (assuming he is still alive). Eric will use the UV lamp when doing the autopsy and learn about the weakness. Keep both Eric and Rachel alive until she's infected, don't let Jason shoot Rachel, then Eric will use the lamp to get the bug out
Plus, they've already been in this situation before many times and getting used to seeing dead corpses that were brutally mutilated won't phase them anymore. Shout out to people who work in hospital morgues. They even mentioned that a similar incident happened in Winterfold England which may tease a game for season 2.
What pisses me off is that they blatantly don’t care about what happened, their primary concern is quote “controlling the flow of information” and making sure nothing gets out. The classic government cover ups

Unless you try to give Eric a second chance while playing as Rachel and increase their relationship status throughout the game without betrayals. Then that would make sense. I have to say, this game has a lot of choices that only affect very later in the game than previous instalments.
If Rachel still is in love with Nick and he tells Eric about it, and if Eric's relationship status isn't that high, she only hits Salim for what he did, she does not kill him. Ikr, the amount of scenarios in this game are crazy. Not related, but I once saw a scenario where Rachel can vomit out the parasite from her body if she was infected, and never saw it again in another playthrough. It requires specific sets of choices. There is also a scenario while playing Rachel that when you miss one too many QTEs, infected Clarice comes and saves you from the bat creatures. It's so fascinating.

Isn’t it crazy how the WORST character kills one of the best characters for no fucking reason? Because her husband held him at gun point and depending on the path chosen he only did so in killing Eric only to save himself out of fear they would do exactly what Rachel did to him in the elevator. Not to mention kicking his body off was unnecessary no matter how good she may have felt afterwards she killed an innocent man at the end of the day and will never know the truth. Still hate her character in any other route or instance as well… even Salim’s captain Dar was more interesting.
Moreover, Rachel is ussually in normal or good relationships with Jason. And she values her revenge for not so loved husband higher than Jason's self-sacrifice making it meaningless. So sad and hurting...

If Rachel and Salim are the only ones there, she will throw a punch instead of shooting him in the elevator. If they are accompanied by Nick, the possibility of her shooting him is now available depending on what Salim says, like you mentioned.
Avoid her getting infected. In in the assault, shoot the monster attacking Rachel instead of the one coming at Salim. A bit after that, she can get infected if she chooses to help Eric, don't do it

She wasn't cheating tho. She and Eric were separated for 1 year, and even if they were not divorced, she had already told him it was over. Salim is my fave character by far but Rachel was completely justified imo, Eric chose his work instead of her, so she chose her own happiness

Isn’t it crazy how the WORST character kills one of the best characters for no fucking reason? Because her husband held him at gun point and depending on the path chosen he only did so in killing Eric only to save himself out of fear they would do exactly what Rachel did to him in the elevator. Not to mention kicking his body off was unnecessary no matter how good she may have felt afterwards she killed an innocent man at the end of the day and will never know the truth. Still hate her character in any other route or instance as well… even Salim’s captain Dar was more interesting.
Moreover, Rachel is ussually in normal or good relationships with Jason. And she values her revenge for not so loved husband higher than Jason's self-sacrifice making it meaningless. So sad and hurting...

@@JP-tf5ln Not necessarily. The game was coded so two characters always make it out to the final scene in the hut with the eclipse. If Rachel and Salim are the only ones there, she will throw a punch instead of shooting him in the elevator. If they are accompanied by Nick, the possibility of her shooting him is now available depending on what Salim says, like you mentioned.

Avoid her getting infected. In in the assault, shoot the monster attacking Rachel instead of the one coming at Salim. A bit after that, she can get infected if she chooses to help Eric, don't do it

While I easily think Salim is a way better character than Rachel, I don't think Salim is a saint as most people say lol.

No.
You can see it in the video, if Salim comes back to the elevator alone, Rachel won't believe him and will assume that he killed Jason.

When I got the option to shoot her after getting infected, I took it. No way was I gonna let her risk getting my two favorites out (Salim and Jason).
