    That looks cool with your blue rim tape. I'll have to change my calibers now because I have the blue rim tape. 💙💙💙

    Nice. Had my 2.0 a year tomorrow. Waited 4 months to get it. I had the brakes plus other goodies waiting for it. Have 1700 miles on it so far. No problems at all. I am looking into Himiway 52v for long distance riding. If I can make my XP get that range I will do it. Amazon is out of the balancer. I deal with Aliexpress anyway. at least they have what I need.

      We loaded a link for Ali express for convenience.
      Look at the Ariel Rider Kepler.

    I have the blue brakes as well, but have not installed them yet. This tutorial will make it easy, I hope!!!!

      We did a test ride today for the first time, the braking is notably better. They are a tight fit. Meaning, there isn’t enough room IMO between caliper housing and wheel spokes. It works but it’s close. We are torn between aesthetics and personal preference/technical tolerance

    If you use the existing brake mounts on the bike you do not have a "front" or "rear". The calipers are the same. Simply remove the mounts shipped with the new calipers and mount to the existing adapters on the bike.

    Did you install hydraulic or mechanical brakes? Do these brakes you installed require brake fluid?

    • @ElectricAllWheel
      @ElectricAllWheel  Рік тому +2

      The fluid is in the caliper itself and does not require bleeding. It’s a step above mechanical brakes and a step below full hydraulics

    I have the 3.0 step thru and just ordered the HB-100 XTECH Cable Hydraulic Calipers. I am not clear on your Spacer short video. You spaced out the Fork but the relationship between the Disc Rotor and Spokes doesn't change. Once you recenter the Caliper wouldn't you have the same rubbing issue? Thanks for the great content.

    • @ElectricAllWheel
      @ElectricAllWheel  Рік тому +1

      There is a large range of manufacturing variability and tolerances with these bikes and brakes.
      When the issue persists, it generally is a spoke grazing the caliper body. In some instances the angle offset by the washer is enough to shift the caliper into clearance of the spokes. For others we have seen need for two washers and two disc spacers.
      We believe the brake mount fabrication tolerances have tons of room for improvement from Lectric.

      @@ElectricAllWheel thank you for the reply. I will start with the rear and keep the other unit as a spare. I will replace the pads in the front with some better pads, what do you suggest? The front is easier to adjust anyway. Thanks again.

    The supplier of these brakes says they are intended for 160mm rotors and the Lectric XP 3.0 has 180mm rotors.

    I like the brakes and probably do an install in the future. Can you provide a link for the bike repair stand and where do you attach it. I have a Step Thru though
    Thanks so much

    First off I like your video installs they help me a lot but my question is I do not have extra break caps for my bike can I still get the break wire through with the break cap on???

    • @ElectricAllWheel
      @ElectricAllWheel  Рік тому

      No. You’re going to have to take them off. But you may be able to take them off and round them out to reuse them. Take your time.

    The "Cable Hydraulic Brakes (tight fit brake to spokes)" link takes me to a Lucas Graham album. Can you repost the correct link for the actual brakes?

      Thank you! The link has been corrected. This should take you directly to the hydraulic brakes we used amzn.to/3y79O2w. Thanks for watching!

    What do you need the rotor spacer for??? Can I install these exact same calipers on the Lectric 3.0???

    • @assface199
      @assface199 Рік тому

      I just tried on a 3.0 rear is fine, front hits spokes. will find some spacers and finish later.

    Did you do the washer spacing on the front axle as in the link above before installing these brake calipers? I just want to make sure I am understanding everything I need to know to add some to my 2.0 ST. Thanks.

    • @ElectricAllWheel
      @ElectricAllWheel  2 роки тому +1

      On the regular XP 2.0 we used 1 washer up front. We have seen a need for 2 washers and a rotor spacer up front. It all depends on the manufacturing precision for both the bike and the brake caliper. There should be a link for the rotor spacer in the video description.

      @@ElectricAllWheel Thank you so such. I guess its a trial and error thing unless someone else has experience with installing these calipers on an ST 2.0, but even that may not be consistent due to the country of origin of the bike and caliper. I think I need to invest in a work stand for this thing, lol.

    • @ElectricAllWheel
      @ElectricAllWheel  2 роки тому

      This is the stand we use. You should be fine. Take your time and everything should work out.

    From what you show in your video, it appears that the calipers for the front are thinner than the rear. I ordered two sets of these, one for my 2.0 and a set for my wife's 2.0 and all four calipers I received are the exact same thickness. The rears went on with no issues but the fronts are hitting my spokes. Can you confirm they are two different thicknesses? Thanks.

      @@ElectricAllWheel I have never heard of those before, look like regular mechanical disk brakes, but they have hydraulic in them huh! Interesting. They must have an advantage over regular cable mechanical brakes.
