[4KHDR] Driving in Norway: Scenic Route 63 from Eidsdal to Geiranger - Norway's Most Beautiful Road?

- In this video you can drive along on the touristic route Fylkesvei 63 from Eidsdal to Geiranger in the Western Norwegian fjords. One of the most beautiful roads in Norway, it takes drivers past waterfalls and the famous picturesque UNESCO Geirangerfjord.
Especially in the summer months, this road is busy with tourists and large buses that take cruise tourists up to the Geirangerfjord viewpoint. Almost every day a different cruise ship is docked at Geiranger, this time it was quite a large one from the MSC company.
In the town of Geiranger is the Norwegian fjord center and museum, which I can recommend visiting in order to learn more about how these fjords were shaped over different ice ages in the past.
Hope you enjoy this scenic drive along despite the rain!

Beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing this video
Thanks for stopping by!
Nice scenic drive 😊
😮😮😮Awesome scene.
طبيعة ما وراء الخيال 😍😍😍😍 النرويج العظيمة
I have driven this road back in 2018 heading to Eidsdal. Just before you descend the mountain towards Geiranger, there is a toll road to a viewing point of Geiranger and its majestic cruise ship visitors(Dalsnibba). Fantastic view up there.
unfortunately we couldn't see anything because of the weather so I didn't pay the 20 Euros to drive up there ;-)
❤
The roadworks you passed were the end points of a 4.8 km tunnel into the mountain side on your right. It will replace the current road which is very exposed to avalanches during winter.
Very beautiful. May I know around what time of the year you recorded this? Is summer a good choice to visit since less rain and less waterfalls?
Thanks! This was recorded in June. Summer is generally a good time to go. It's hard to plan Norway based on weather. It's simply a rainy country and you have to embrace it. Not sure why you would want less waterfalls to be honest, they are what makes the landscape so impressive 😃 I decided for June because it's not quite the high season yet so prices are still somewhat acceptable and the waterfalls are pretty much at their strongest.
@@nielsontheroad aha nice, yes the waterfalls makes it special, I wouldn't want to view it without them ☺️
