I really dislike places where the staff cooks your food at your table, like, I don't know what to do with myself the whole time so I just awkwardly sit there and wait for them to be done.
I disagree, i find it fascinating. Although I might dislike it in Japan if you are just supposed to sit there quietly. In the USA where i have had this done i chat with my party or even the chef if it’s allowed.

@@markylon ayyo that's so rude! Take your advice, being an adult isn't mouthing off to other people. I can't stand to sit in silence while someone cooks for me, it isn't fun at all. I like to talk or cook for myself so I agree with them
Hi! I enjoyed your channel. I started watching 3-4 years ago when I had struggles with eating. I wanted to eat but nobody to eat with or my experience felt too boring so I watched you guys enjoy your food while I enjoyed mine. It made me feel less alone! Thank you for posting these videos!
Whenever I eat alone i like to watch a DB video to make it feel less lonely, it’s nice to know I’m not the only one. And I’m proud to hear you’ve gotten past your eating struggles!
I am Japanese, but reading the comments, I can understand the cultural differences. Not only at this restaurant, but at any restaurant that serves sukiyaki, you can choose to do it yourself or leave it to the waiter. Sukiyaki is always cooked in a controlled manner so that the beef is thin and not overcooked. So, in general, you leave the cooking to the waiter, who will serve you the best possible quality and sometimes chat with the waiter while you eat. Please do not think that the video on UA-cam is the whole experience. The price, by the way, is not much different from that of a steak because it is a rare specific part of Wagyu beef. If you lower the quality of the meat, you can get a more reasonable price, and this kind of price is only for special occasions such as anniversaries.
I know this comment is a year old. I just wish to ask would it be rude In this setting to talk to the waiter? Granted I don’t know the language but apps have come a long way at least.
@@sebby8005 Long-established stores are often spoken for by the waitstaff, and I'm fine with that because I recognize that talking is part of the job in the hospitality industry. But the problem is the app.... I don't think they can use it while they are cooking, so even if they can understand our intentions, there may be limited ways for the waiter to communicate with you. There are some restaurants that speak English, so it might be a good idea to do some preliminary research. By the way, I think this sukiyaki hiyama has an English website and is English-speaking.
For everyone who says it is uncomfortable, I think this kind of places are more suitable for business talk between two or more people who are actively discussing. For people who are looking for casual hangout, there are places where you can grill and cook food yourself and chat freely. But this is just not it.
Paying that sort of money, I really appreciate how this place cares about their presentation even with just the raw food coming to your table. How the server takes care and attention when they prepare your food, they really take care of you and care about you leaving feeling satisfied! Everything is so elegantly and thoughtfully prepped and you are served in a way that your bowl is never over-filled. So wholesome!
I love your videos! I can't eat very much bc of health problems, so watching these helps me a lot. Your videos are the only thing I can stand watching. I went to Japan, back in 89 and stayed with our exchange students' family. I believe she had stayed with our family the year before. So it was me and my mother that went. They had a HUGE family but the father was not there. Not sure what happened. I digress. One of the dinners we had was shabu shabu....and it doesn't take long at all for that to cook. I remember they told us, we are to dance it around the pot with our chopsticks (which I never really learned how to use) and say shabu shabu, a couple times and it was done. WAS REALLY GOOD. Yummy food! The place needs some relaxing music to break the awkward silence though 😅
Her reaction is so adorable 😊
I don’t know why but I can only dip beef in the raw egg yolk but I can’t do the scramble/mix. I like those restaurant that give you a strainer to separate the yolk from the whites because it means they usually have some where for me to leave the whites behind.
Thanks for the upload!
The restaurant experience videos are so much more satisfying to me than the quick food or vending machine videos. I love how quiet cook in segment #1 is. Maybe I need to move to Japan if it’s quiet like this in lots of places. America is so loud.
Raw egg? Even if safe, they don’t impact flavor much and have an annoying slime texture. You both seem to like it though.
Single room is an experience. Have to love having an expensive date to get paid back with likes. Professionally shot and still the cutest couple. The French NPC couple is a close second. You should collaborate with couple power!
It all looks so amazing😋🥰😋
Watching her face light up everytime when something is good.... Goals, Goallllls
I love her sweet face. She makes me smile.
I loved mrs Bacon's response to the beef from the Shabu Shabu course- she was almost wriggling with delighted pleasure!
i died inside when that 1 small cup of orange juice was $8 USD like dude at least fill the glass 🤣🤣🤣
I'll definitely going to find something else to eat after this course 😂

People in this comment section are so freaking butthurt. It's not your money, you don't have to pay for the food nor do you have to eat it. If you don't like the way the video is made, just leave. DancingBacons is sharing their experience at restaurants online and if you don't like it there's no reason to complain just because you personally wouldn't do the stuff.
Are we paying 280 dollars for 6 slice of meat ?
And very few veggies!🥗
It's Wagyu, and they are high quality beef. Hence its price.
@@astronymyx4860 suuuureeee...then what about the 1 piece of tofu???
Created in uranus???
The vegetable imported from another universe???
The restourant earn profit..multiple times than the farmer themself...thats freaking r*tarded no mater what...
Its a scam...
No, they are tricked into paying a lot for less
You need to be an expert to tell the difference between the real wagyu and the fake, lots are tricked, sorry - but true
And 17 dollars for two cups of juices
