Close fight I own the revoltech version I want the shm but the price is just a bit high for me especially being literally a retool of the 96 which I own and love. I'm hoping to eventually get one at s better price as I do want to complete the shm set but until then it's a pass.
Damn this was a really, really close match honestly. But in the end, both figures are great in their own way.

This was pretty much my conclusion. I actually passed on the 1996 version to get this revoltech since I already had the revo 1996 version. I retrospect I wish I had both, but on the otherhand I'm still able to justify getting another 1995 from kaiyodo at the $60-$80 aftermarket prices compared to the recent monsterarts. One of the things that did it was pretty much the accesories and their combinations. Saucer Gamera is nice, and you could get some combos there, but the fun from taking action shots will simply be more from the Revoltech in additon to it's articulation.
Until I get another showa Gamera, the 1999 is the only SHMA Gamera I have so far and will likely stay that way.
Roveltech is kinda cool i guess, but they dont try to hide the joints

Unfortunately for me, the revoltech is just too small and the monsterarts is too pricey. Unless NECA makes a gamera (which is unlikely) I'm gonna have to settle for a bandai vinyl (then again, that's not necessarily a bad thing!)
This match up ultimately gave me the right idea for Gamera's role im giving him in my upcoming project.
Also, could you do a review of the revoltech just to give it more direct spotlight?
Tbh, I couldn't disagree more with round 5. Sure, revoltech has a flying effect, and a fireball effect, but SHMA has a similar flying effect, AND the saucer effect (which imo is kind of a must for gamera). Revoltech is cool, but far from the monsterarts one on that category imo. If it was the showa gamera though...
Yes, two different ways to display him flying vs flying, flying with fire ball, Superman lift off with fists in the air, punching a character, etc, etc....
Once you hash it out, which one is more limited is clear.
@@StevensToyReviews sure I understand that, however, I still disagree on it being more limited, specially since only one can perform the saucer fly, which is super iconic to gamera. Not to mention the revoltech can only sit in one position while on flight, which is taking off. Even if you had an extra stand, you couldn't have him flying vertically, because the flat smoke wouldn't look good. SHMA gets two stands for different flight forms wich are very different from each other. If you ask me, saucer form and normal form are way more different from each other than the revoltech's option's, which are fire ball or no fire ball, in the exact same position. Even in the movies the two distinct flight froms were used for different purposes. I agree with the rest, just not here

Fireball while flying
While on 4's shooting it out
While clenching fists and shooting it
While in a beam struggle with Godzilla
So forth
While I get that it's iconic, a Godzilla with a beam would have better accessories than a Godzilla that came with a building, super x, tanks, jets, and a small explosion?
I mean S.H MonsterArts had more accessories
I'm still suprised the SHMA didn't take this one.
But if anything, it's a sad reminder that Kaiyodo stopped doing these...

You clearly didn't listen to what was said.
I heard that it had had more options, but i feel like most other figure fights come down to the amount of accessories. Also i think that the shma has more options anyways, oh well, revoltech is odd in my opinion

I disagree with round 5, sh had more abs. vs better accessories, yes rev had a fireball but you can use the fireball fruition the 96 gamera figure, even though it didn't cone with it. Sh should've won
But you just said "it didn't come with the fireball," so it doesn't have a fireball. You can't take other accessories that didn't come with it and say it has better accessories.
@@StevensToyReviews yeah, I kinda contradicted myself, I was trying to say while the sh didn't come with a fireball, a previously figure did come with one and is compatable with this figure, even though that doesn't count as this figures accessory. The one that came with rev is a pitiful accessory, but a accessory that the sh didn't have none the less. I doubt know if that makes my point better or make more sense, I just think with the accessories that did come with the sh version were better and had more than the rev
i have to disagree... in my opinion price should not be included, otherwise Revo always wins. we all know that bandai/tamashii products are always expensive. also i recon that SH monster arts has much better accessories.. but that's just me :D cheers!!!
