Bomb shelter? I don't see one, only happiness for me. While yes the SHMA may not be perfect or 100% accurate, but consider the articulation and the attempt to blend in the paint, just like the other S.H.MonsterArts Godzilla 2019 Vanilla and Poster version, it's a win in my book

1. The translucent oh the NECA is really nice and makes the figure shine more the the Shma one
2.the paint is better than the SHMA, SHMA looks like he is covered in dorito powder lol

You should split sculpt and paint into two different categories. There are so many examples where a figure has an amazing sculpt, but terrible paint and vice versa. Something to consider!
I understand that sentiment, but it ultimately comes down to looks. If the paint is too thick and you can't make out the beautiful sculpt, can you really appreciate what you can't see?

I like the overall darker color of the neca better than my bright orange and yellow shm lol. But that's it, i hate the lack of articulation on neca G and even just the standing vanilla pose looks like crap on the neca. If shm had the overall dark red and black that the neca had it would be a near perfect figure. Still i own both and like them for their own reasons
With how much the shm figures cost I wish they were just a little better. They should be way better than neca for there price but there really not in my opinion.

I Iike the NECA paint job, but I think the SHMA does a better job of capturing a closer to film look, since it resembles the moments when he is about to release his atomic pulse and glows really bright.
The question comes down to, though, is that what everyone wants?

I have a bootleg neca thermo Godzilla, and it’s the same thing except the tail is bendy wire. When I mean it’s the same, I mean the same, like the neca branding and toho branding Xd
I like more the Neca because I was hyped because they anounce neca first and I was excited and I finally got it and for me neca wins because I look at the movie and for me because neca its more accurate because it looks more dark but at least this is my personal opinion

Personally I think the NECA did better with more bold uses of black to give that internal glowing effect with the red and dark orange cracks and creases, but it’s a bit too red and doesn’t have enough bright colors coming through to make those glowing effects really pop. The SHMA has the bright colors, but not enough black to make those colors give off that cracked lava kind of look that the movie had. Obviously SHMA has the best articulation, and normally that wouldn’t be an issue for me personally because Godzilla is a big hulking tank of a Kaiju most of the time so the NECA joints are usually fine, but for this specific Godzilla I feel like the extra articulation is kind of necessary for the full experience. As for these two figures specifically, personally I’ll skip on both for now and stick with the regular SHMA figure because I have limited shelf space (well it’s actually a bootleg SHMA but I didn’t know it was a bootleg when I ordered it)

Tbh, it's kinda like a tie. Why? NECA and Monsterarts are accurate by their sculpt, but paint is questionable. NECA is good and nice but the red streaks and the red paint are inaccurate, but still, a nice one. The Monsterarts is cool but with different kinds of effects or burning effects. Articulation, NECA's limited while Monsterarts is great but some are quite stiff or loose. Price goes to NECA. And size is the same. Overall, I'm thinking of the NECA's but kind of a tie.

Nice review. Obviously the SHMA wins in articulation. But I really do not like the head on the SHMA. It looks too small and flat. I can hardly see any detail in the face when looking at the SHMA head on. This isn't true for the NECA. And I am not an SHMA basher.....I love SHMA's Destoroyah and Space Gojira. The SHMA's 2019 Gojira head sculpt IMO opinion is not that great.

The neca looks more like lava and the sh. monsterarts looks too shiny
I really don't think that the S.H face sculpts are not nearly as good and accurate as the neca figures, also the sculpt all around is just better in my opinion, obviously the S.H has has deeper and less soft sculpts, but overall I think monster arts a way over rated.
The sculpt on the shma comes directly from the cgi model. How’s it not accurate😂😂😂

Personally like the sculp and paint color for NECA more for the burning godzilla, SHM Godzilla has a small head for some reason and hes wayyy to orange, he looks like a fire demon that looks like godzilla as appose to Godzilla who has a power up, but thanks for the comparison, time to order My Neca Burning G

I prefer the NECA over the SHMA. Say what you want about the paint slop, but NECA at least put in the effort to make their figure look more than just orange. The SHMA, however, while there are other paint colors in that figure it gets lost very easily with the orange and you would have to really get a close up to see those different colors.

I like how the neca looks more accurate color-wise, from afar xD. I also like the little bit of extra detailing you get on the neca. I don't think either is accurate enough for my purchase though, thanks for sharing Steven!

Unpopular opinion, apparently, I think the paint on the NECA actually was worse than the shma simply because the dorsal plates are literally just solid yellow for the most part. You get much more paint variation with Bandai, and like Steven said, there’s absolutely no blending in the dorsal spines either

Yea, not sure that having colors better "blended" on the SH is good enough reason to excuse the horrific color choices and overall scheme. It looks like he just fell in a vat of orange paint. The Neca actually looks like he's going incandescent...which is the point of the figure.

That is really true because the skin looks way darker but on the SH figure arts it’s still kind is still kind of dark but it’s a lot of orange what’s that that makes it a lot better a lot better just a lot and yeah it just looks like the one from King of the monsters Godzilla King of monsters Inc. the exact one.

IMO this is one of NECA's best figures, I didn't even consider the Monsterarts version TBH. Not a fan of the color.
Honestly I don't think either are amazing, nor are they good representations of BG19. The NECA I would argue is a bit better for accuracy, depending on lighting.

Well, again, the series is more about comparing the individual parts and adding 'em up. I've even preferred the loser of a figure fight before!
Hmmm even though I think that NECA’s paint job made it look more accurate I think I’m going to go with the SH.
I feel like the one on the right is better than the one on the left because it’s not like I’m not the whole body it isn’t really orange it’s and then the spikes with the dorsal spikes on it has red on it too it’s like too much red on it way too much.
I feel like if the S.H. Monsterarts burning Godzilla's paint job was more like the NECA's, then it really would've been amazing. I personally prefer the more clearer deep red body compared to the jumble of yellows and oranges.
