I went with Neca. Both companies have QC issues, but Bandai has stayed the same with their problems involving loose joints and fragile parts while Neca has steadily improved their joints and shelf life, as well as paint apps. Add in the fact that Neca is less than 3 times the price and readily available in Walmart, Target and other retailers and it is no competition for me.
Trike 7117 I’m very selective now on buying monsterarts figures, only getting ones I really care about. I just got the biollante only because the normal is $1200 now and I’m a little concerned about it
The SH Monster arts figures are a bit better than the NECA. But, not so much better to justify the massive price difference. I'll take the NECA all day, every day based on value.
Right from the start, I always knew you would pull a bit of a twist at the end (for obvious reasons). And in this video, I agree on your choices and really love this figure fight tag team and early access
They already addressed at the time that they wouldn't because then it would have been much more expensive then all the other figures and they were content with their cheap prices
I prefer the sculpt of the SHMA Rodan over the Rodan. SHMA Rodan having posable legs is a plus. I just wish the SHMA Rodan had posable wings. SHMA Mothra gets washed by the Neca. All the SHMA needed was a different color scheme (body wise) to half way redeem it. The NECA Godzillas are neck and neck, but I give the SHMA the edge because the paint isn't god awful in the face area AND poses better. Ghidorah. Overall, SHMA wins out to me with Rodan and Godzilla. But NECA Mothra fits right in with the two. Both sides are good this round.
I think the Gashapon is the most screen accurate Mothra 2019 figure compared to NECA and SHMA. NECA is second best (only for the Poster Version), but V1 was based from Concept Art. I can't forgive MonsterArts or NECA for lacking the white head
I'm kinda tired of defending the SHMA Mothra 2019, it's not the worst figure in the line. Despite it not being good. NECA's Mothra is greatly sculpted, but the wings are not movie accurate, they're based from a concept Art (MonsterArts actually got the eyespots right, but the patterns has missing spots), I think the Poster Version is the superior articulated Mothra figure, while the Gashapon is hands down, the best Mothra 2019 figure in general. Both MonsterArts and NECA don't have a white furry head, both get low points for that
Yeah.... NECA said the didn’t make King G because he wouldn’t fit there goal to make less expensive godzilla figures. They should’ve made him tho. The way they make their figures, there version of King G could’ve been around 70-90 dollars. Which is an easy turn around compared to SHMAs version.

I went with S.H MonsterArts, while NECA is good, it has some problems, on my birthday I got a NECA Thermo Godzilla, and it wasn't 25-30$ like he said, it was 65-70$! And what made the figure worse was it was very stiff and still is, also at the tip of the spines the paint chipped off, also S.H MonsterArts has great articulation!

I don't know, SH Monster art Godzillas looks good but what bothers me are the gaps, such as the hip to the body and the arms to the chest. Not sure why no one talks about this. Its very noticeable and not worth the hefty price tag in my opinion due to these annoying gaps. Don't want to see through them from a certain angles and it take away from the almost perfect craftsmanship. I choose Neca's because of this unfortunately. Am I wrong for thinking this?
No, it wouldn't have been a tie. Figure fight rules call for another round in the event of a tie where you go into photography and display presence, as referenced in the rules video which is uploaded which you can watch. To that end, Bandai still would have won.
Erm, putting in King Ghidorah as the tie breaker was a low blow imo. Just because NECA didn't do a KG figure doesn't mean SHMA should be given the point automatically just because SHMA did it. I would've just ended the match as a tie rather than give the win to SHMA for having one figure more than NECA.
I think neca is better cuz there are a decent price and for SH you have to sell your vital organs just for 1 figure and they break easily when I got my godzilla 2019 it broke off so NEC is better

Budget absolutely factors into what a collector may or may not purchase. The series is to help collectors see what one figure does better than another, and if one is more wallet friendly, then objectively, it's more wallet friendly.

Battles aren't meant to be fair, they're meant to be honest. As a Monsterarts Collector I can tell you that SHMA well deserved to beat Neca in almost every category. The only victory Neca really has is their Mothra, other than that SHMA wipes the floor with Neca
No, regardless of what fans want to say, Randy went on the record to say that they weren't going to do it because of retailers and not willing to put it on the shelf. They could have done it by other means, but decided not to. Again, the lack of doing it puts it against them. Also, if you look at the figure fight rules, which there is a video of which you can reference, ties go into another round which is about photography and display presence. To that end, Bandai still wins.

No, it wouldn't have been a tie. Figure fight rules call for another round in the event of a tie where you go into photography and display presence, as referenced in the rules video which is uploaded which you can watch. To that end, Bandai still would have won.
Erm, putting in King Ghidorah as the tie breaker was a low blow imo. Just because NECA didn't do a KG figure doesn't mean SHMA should be given the point automatically just because SHMA did it. I would've just ended the match as a tie rather than give the win to SHMA for having one figure more than NECA.
Stephen Miller not to mention he is also breaking his own rules by doing that as he can’t show ghidorah unless the other side has one as well

I think neca is better cuz there are a decent price and for SH you have to sell your vital organs just for 1 figure and they break easily when I got my godzilla 2019 it broke off so NEC is better

While I see what he does with the money section, it’s kind of unfair. While Neca is cheaper, that’s because it is cheaper to make. And sh monster arts is high quality so it is more expensive.
Budget absolutely factors into what a collector may or may not purchase. The series is to help collectors see what one figure does better than another, and if one is more wallet friendly, then objectively, it's more wallet friendly.

Battles aren't meant to be fair, they're meant to be honest. As a Monsterarts Collector I can tell you that SHMA well deserved to beat Neca in almost every category. The only victory Neca really has is their Mothra, other than that SHMA wipes the floor with Neca
No, regardless of what fans want to say, Randy went on the record to say that they weren't going to do it because of retailers and not willing to put it on the shelf. They could have done it by other means, but decided not to. Again, the lack of doing it puts it against them. Also, if you look at the figure fight rules, which there is a video of which you can reference, ties go into another round which is about photography and display presence. To that end, Bandai still wins.
