  • 📅 13th Jan - Welcome to the 3rd episode of #PotToPickle: How To Sow & Germinate Veg Seeds - Peppers and Aubergines! 🍆 #PotToPickle is a series of grow-a-long, back-to-basics video tutorials for the novice urban vegetable grower. We'll be doing everything together this season, and growing everything in pots 🌱 I'll be showing you that no matter how small your outside space, you can still grow a decent amount of veg 🎉
All episodes in the series so far:
#1 - How To Grow Vegetables In Pots: The Complete Guide • How To Grow Vegetables...
#2 - What We Need To Sow Our First Veg Seeds • What We Need To Sow Ou...
#3 - How To Sow & Germinate Peppers & Aubergines (this video)
#4 - My Veg Seeds Have Germinated! Now What? • My Veg Seeds Have Germ...
#5 - How To Sow & Germinate Tomato Seeds… At Home • How To Sow & Germinate...
In Episode 3 I show you how to sow and germinate vegetable seeds. We’ll be sowing aubergines / eggplants and peppers specifically, as these are the slowest growing vegetables so need to be started early.
I also share the two things we need to do to ensure our seeds germinate successfully.
Do ensure you have what you need to hand to sow your first seeds - have a watch of Episode 2 ( • What We Need To Sow Ou... ) to find out what these are if you haven’t already.
In the next two tutorials I’ll show you what we do with our seedlings once they've germinated. And how to sow and successfully germinate tomato seeds. We'll be sowing our tomato seeds around the start of February, so have your seeds by then! 🍅
If you have any Qs I haven't answered, please ask them below so they’re public (rather than in a DM) and I will answer them all! ⬇️

My pleasure 😊 Plastic is really useful in the garden as it holds water well. Whenever plastic comes into my house I usually figure out a way to reuse it in the garden :)

I live your videos, thank you. I may well pot my seedlings on into a raised bed rather than a bigger pot. There should't be any problems with this should there?

Hi Rhiannon, this is so lovely to hear - thank you! Yes a raised bed would be absolutely fantastic too! Getting them to the stage of planting out will be exactly the same as covered in these videos :) Let me know if you have any more questions!

Hi Edward! No it doesn't, normal tap water is absolutely fine to use. Hope that helps!
