  • 📅 15th Feb - Welcome to the 6th episode of #PotToPickle: How & When To Prick Out (Transplant) Seedlings 🍆 #PotToPickle is a series of grow-a-long back-to-basics video tutorials for the novice urban vegetable grower. We'll be doing everything together this season, and growing everything in pots 🌱 I'll be showing you that no matter how small your outside space, you can still grow a decent amount of veg 🎉
All episodes in the #PotToPickle series so far:
#1 - How To Grow Vegetables In Pots: The Complete Guide • How To Grow Vegetables...
#2 - What We Need To Sow Our First Veg Seeds • What We Need To Sow Ou...
#3 - How To Sow & Germinate Peppers & Aubergines • How To Sow & Germinate...
#4 - My Veg Seeds Have Germinated! Now What? • My Veg Seeds Have Germ...
#5 - How To Sow & Germinate Tomato Seeds... At Home! • How To Sow & Germinate...
#6 - How & When To Prick Out (Transplant) Seedlings (this video)
In Episode 6 I show you how and when to prick out (transplant) your veg seedlings into their own individual pots to grow on. You will need to do this for any peppers, chillies, aubergines and tomatoes you’ve sown along with me.
Questions I answer in this episode include:
    - What type of compost should I use when pricking out? 1:57
    - How many seedlings should I select to grow on? 2:56
    - When should I prick out my seedlings? 5:32
    - Which seedlings should I select to grow on? 7:13
    - What do I need to prick out my seedlings? 8:36
Along with the single important rule to bear in mind when pricking out seedlings: hold them by a leaf, NOT the stem! 10:27
I also show you my windowsill pot rotation system that ensures every plant gets the maximum amount of light, even if your indoor growing area is crammed with pots. 17:18
In the next two tutorials I’ll show you how to grow pea shoots on a sunny indoor windowsill - no outside space needed at all!
And I’ll also be showing you how to sow and grow climbing peas and beans up a bamboo wigwam structure in a large pot. If you’re interested in doing this, start saving your cardboard toilet rolls!
If you have any Qs I haven't answered, please ask them below and I will answer them all! ⬇️
