Colbert a religious man? Now that takes the cake. He MOCKS the faith. He doesn't practice it. If he did, he wouldn't hate on any-one. I have no respect for Mr. Stephen Colbert. He is sad.And lost, just counts his money after he spreads hate and negativity.
Nobody Special well, that’s your opinion, but I do think that he mocks various old school and laughable things about church and religion. Being religious does not mean that you can’t see its flaws, seeing them does not mean you don’t believe in God. I am not at all religious myself, but that’s what I think about Colbert.
Also. No umm withdrawl. In my hometown we ONLY have a catholic hospital. If you get csection...you CANNOT get tubes tied. You must make seperate appointment for second surgery an hour away in big city..
@@sunnylilme yeah, we legalised abortion through a referendum. But I'm just saying the church had nothing to with that but they did ban the use of condoms up til the 90's
I'm glad I was able to catch the Anna Wintour part of the show. Direct TV transmitted green splotches from beginning to this part. But the commercials played clearly.
There is a Catholic reverence for vestments and accouterments. Even a simple priest will likely have something that was made by hand, embellished by hand, prayed over again and again as it was being made. It's not aggrandizing the fallible men, but a beautiful expression of faith and devotion that may also reflect the culture that produced it.
You can tell that the folks at the Met are not really "into" humor. Only La Wintour was relaxed enough to give a modest little laugh now and again. Maybe that's what the humor needed, a whole cast playing it straight against Colbert's silliness. He is perhaps the most charming man of his times.
No one pays for the outfits --- they are specifically designed for the stars and have to be returned at the end of the night. It's a great public relations coup by the designers (most of the time).
Childhood Catholic damage? How? I went twelve years to catholic school and never encountered a pedophile priest. It is a small percentage, and happens in all faiths. But the catholic church seems to be a target.
Nobody Special it was a bigger percentage than u say. And lets remember, instead of calling the police on these offenders, the catholic church just moved these pedophiles to another state w/ the hopes of covering/quieting the sexual assault of children situation. All of religion is horsesh*t! Save urself and stop going
nmenunier Damaged by catholicism? I graduated high-school in 1985. I smoked pot, drank and had sex. No sexual oppression, corporal punishment. My best friend was a gay male. So what are you talking about? I grew up partying, listening to AC/DC. And guess what? I am guilt free. And have a quiet normal life. Except I haven't given up marijuana or lots of sex with my husband. You all didn't hang out with the right catholic kids I guess.
Loved the exhibition, and so as ever WELL DONE! Yet please could you mark your pronunciation of CHASUBLE as chazzewbl.....and CROSIER as kroziher! Blessings
I'm curious on how the insurance works when it comes to museums and their priceless artifacts. Or if there's even an insurance at all for those sort of things (and I'm talking about the very best..... the ones wich importance cannot be measure in monetary value).
Lol I love that Anna was trying to contain her laughter the whole time
moonwalkingthroughlife What?? I don't think she's given a genuine laugh in her entire life.
Sameee
+AlA Al agreed, both her and the andy warhol wannabe acted extremely awkward and stiff. It felt uncomfortable.
If by "contain her laughter" you meant contain her utter disgust with Stephen, then yes, loved it...
Kaya that’s because they’re British
"Membership has its privileges." 😆
.
Lol
I love that Anna kept having to turn away to laugh. She's got a sense of humor!
Nah 🤪 anna doesn't care about you.
This guy is the best without trying ....
"What the Westworld is this!" 😂😂
the "resume motor function" had me laugh soooo hard.
It was creepy to see many mannequins in one place, wearing the same hair like that, wasn't it?

That guy is the David Bowie of curating.
No. He's PT Barnum without the taste.
Yes, he's even rocking the thin white dude's skinny suit and glasses.
His husband is Thom Browne so he's got the suit thing figured out
Brock- gag! that’s so cool!! haha
I adore Stephen for being able to laugh at catholic artifacts, Rome, the Pope and etc. being a religious person himself. I respect this man so much!

The Catholic Church doesn't allow wearing of protection. 🔥🔥
Ry Sun the pope has publicly accepted the use of contraception, but I live in Ireland and it was illegal to buy condoms for years

Most appropriate use of "bless up!"
Why? Why? Why weren't you playing "Can't Touch This" in the background?
Rodney Kelly I guess they considered it and thought it was a bit derivative
because its corny
I know!!! Wasted opportunity haha
Lame.
Rodney Kelly 😂
Stephen's improv in the field is always so much more natural and funny than the studio performances.
I love when Stephen just straight up drops his cards, and keeps going like a pro.
Andrew looks like David Bowie ..... loved this behind the scene take. Colbert is hillarious and Anna Wintour rocks.
"You're no fun! Let's go!" ... I'll use this a lot, from now on when I'm bored!

"made with delusion" yea that has a catchy ring to it.
thanrose- Colbert just mocks his faith, he doesn't appreciate it at all. Just another one of his sad jokes. Poor soul.
I LOVE you Stephen, that was hilarious! You always make my day
hysterical!!!
3:54 we all agreed that she looks amazing right?!
Didn't seem like they were feeling the jokes lol 😂😂
Anna Wintour is sooo cool! She is driven and enthousiastic about fashion but still with humour. It's her life and I love it!
One of Stephen's best!
"...and also with you." He was giving the secret Christian handshake, and those heathens were clueless. Stephen, I GOT you.
It's hilarious.. Stephen is the best ❤️😂

"nicer shade of red" Says Anna with sunglasses on.
Nice expansion of guests. I liked her
Hahaha Love Anna Wintour. She's a real icon
Old Country Buffet 😂😂😂
These kinds of segments are why I live Colbert.
I cannot wait to see this exhibit when I visit NYC.
This year it was Halloween at the Met :) for next Year go for mimes at the Met. Creepy creative costumes. 🌻
This woman has no idea how much I love her
nice to see she likes and laugh at and with Colbert ....
Love how Anna wears sunnies for the entire trip. Do her eyes ever see normal light?
Low-key mockery. I dig it.
ahhh the times when we’re able to shake hands with people and go around without wearing masks
All that priceless papal finery. I'm sure that's what Jesus wanted. Jeebus Cripes.
This is so reminiscent of the fashion show in Fellini's 'Roma'.
A strong 'Handmaid's Tale'- theme running through the "inspired" couture. 😝
Is she wearing a pepperoni pizza Snuggie?? 🤣
A Wolff i
AMAZING.
Legit lol
When you are Anna!
I love her, such a smart woman.
Anna adores a sense of humor, that's why Stephen is invited to her own table at the Met Gala.
ugggh Anna such an ICON

I appreciated this. Loved everything
Anna looks amaze
I suppose Anna's dress is modeled after the shroud of Turin
bowie's alive??
MojoRisin Hahahahahahhahahahaha
MojoRisin I wish!
omg Anna trying to keep it together 😂😂😂
Looks amazing! Well Done!
That was cute. Thanks!
This is a perfect example of how far churches have gone away from the The Humble teachings of Christ
This is just rich man's couture. After that night, nobody is going to touch their bling outfit ever again.
They have to return the dresses back to the designers
No one pays for the outfits --- they are specifically designed for the stars and have to be returned at the end of the night. It's a great public relations coup by the designers (most of the time).
5:04 That photo isn't the cape worn by Catholic cardinals. This is: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferraiolo
Best met ever
My favorite Vatican fashion is the Swiss Guards.
A behind-the-scenes tour sounds like a win.
I love stephen
The title should read "Anna Wintour takes Stephen on a tour at the Met Gala"
Those two look like the definition of museum curators
Outro song is Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring"
When do we get to see the paint fight we obviously missed?
love her stigmata choir robe
That period stain polka print is to die for!
Brilliant 😁
I'm not Catholic, but I think that it would be cool to see that exhibit. :)
Wow! Anna Wintour is an amazing, amazing woman .....

colbert in front of wintour and the curator asked "which character of the hawaiin king is this"? :) this guy has balls os steel

Stephen's tie and Anna's dress have the same pattern but in different colors.
