I love how Anna Gracefully handled a serious question about his criticism on what he's said on certain topics. Bringing the focus back around to his impact he had on fashion & not really him as a person

I want someone to do a 9 hour long interview of Anna with memories of her with the greats: Armani, Lagerfeld, Versace, Valentino, Ferre, Gaultier, Herrera, Lauren, Yves, Ford, Lacroix, Alaia, McQueen, Rei, Westwood.... Can you imagine the experience she has!!!!
I agree! I’ve done coverage of Anna several times and listening to her talk about the fashion industry is quite fascinating! I definitely can imagine the wealth of knowledge and stellar experiences she will one day share.
She is a horrible person! She tossed André Leon Talley out the door without a cushion because she was just tired of him. She treats everyone like that. She could have and should have dedicated that evening to him, or honored him in some way!

I loved Karl Lagerfeld's "Brown Shirt" collection.
It's hilarious the segment started off with Gayle talking about someone telling her to fix her posture, when the most glaring were those eyelashes.
I love the way Anna put it, Karl was a genius and although he said some outrageous things, his work should still be celebrated!!

In my opinion, the Gala should’ve not only highlighted Karl, but also Vivienne Westwood and Thierry Mugler. All 3 of them changed fashion for better, and should be given equal shine
He died 4 years ago. They died a few months ago....
They still have to prepare an exhibition.
Mugler had his own exhibition already that was great though.
Why not do each of their own? They’re all way too big of designers to be thrown together, and furthermore they all have their own unique styles. It’s just not done that way because it doesn’t make sense.
Too bad because right now its about Karl. Get over it.
Mugler exhibition is at the Brooklyn Museum through May 7th.

Excellent interview by Gayle. If you want to know more about Anna from someone that worked with her for decades- read Andre Leon Talley's book that he narrated for Audible shortly before he died. Explosive, Candid, Revealing and VERY critical of her. Karl NEVER ever agreed to any suggestion of exhibitions of his work.....

I'm surprised that there was no mention of the beautiful Barbie dolls designed by Karl Lagerfeld.
That's a piece of information I never knew!!! When was this? Was he the only designer who designed for Barbie? Very interesting factoid.
@@andyroo9381there are so many Barbie collabs😅 they have almost one a year I think (not always with super big name designers).
Moschino did a Collab a few years ago which was a little special because they did a barbie inspired collection and some of it was made as actual barbie clothing (as opposed to just dressing barbie like others did).
But basically if you take any big name designer from the mid 70s until today, chances are they dressed barbie at one point 😅
It's actually really interesting because it just demonstrates the absolute power barbie has on pop culture and has had for decades 😅
@Andy Roo 2017 was the last time he designed for Barbie. ' The Look ' is the series, and two dolls were his final contributions. Many famous designers have been designers for Barbie.
@Trekki200 You're right. Barbie turned 64 this year and still remains among the top ten best sellers for decades. She definitely inspired females to become more independent and know that they can be anything a male can be. Many designers, including Bob Mackie, Trina Turk, and so many more, have dressed the little icon.

If your insecure why watch? Most fashion designers and people in the arts and design felid in general are “homosexual” so your out of options! Most clothes that women or even men wear a designed by the “homosexuals” who started the trends and trickled down to the fast fashion shows!

Andrew Bolton told in one of his interview - i work in museum to save ideas for your great garment. Don't be worry to use all that you see in hysterical costumes for your present life. I fall in love then.
Gayle was wonderful at trying to pick Anna Wintour 's thought without being overbearing, after all fashion is like bubbles, frothy and effervescent but fleeting.
The fact that the film/fashion industry can "separate the art from the artist" when it's convenient for them but regularly registered to do the same if the subject is on the other side of the aisle is... hypocritical at best. Hollywood ignores problematic people like Lagerfeld and Ezra Miller, indicating that all that matters is lip service to a cause. It's pathetic.

sooo funny , the interview questions they had were basically a roast against the expo : 1/ why you decide to do an expo around a designer who had fat shamed people or being misogyny or had controversial comments... 2/ aren't people saying the met gala are just Anna's party ? 3/ how do you handle the guest list ? etc etc lol those questions are not targeting to embellish the expo, but throw those controversial facts at their face to see how they respond, hhhh

Karl has to be celebrated and so do all people who really did something truly amazing and unique during their lives. We as his admirers are waiting for this; he is a RICH source of inspiration and knowledge for design and also as a way of living. That is what we want and thank you! If anyone does not want his celebration, then they should produce something better than Karl, and show it to us. If not, to keep quiet now, because he is finished anyway. What do critics expect now?! To cut off Karl's achievements and us to stick to their voice of reason?! Nope, thank you. Now only his creation stays. If critics had something to say, they already said that, and now it's over - we don't want to listen to that. We want to see and listen to Karl now. People like Karl are born once in oceans of time - probably even lesser than that. In fact, there's no one like him that I heard of. He has to be celebrated many many many times.
P.S.: Even Anna is no stranger to critics of all sorts. What critics want, holly people? Even holly people aren't good enough for all the world to agree.
No museum needs millions of dollars every year it will be a great cause if they help some people in need instead !
With all of the beautiful work & tribute to the work we can depend on Gale King to focus on the negative. Didn’t she hear this is a tribute to his work not his biography!
