Thanks for the vids.. Just got back into USPSA after about a 7year break. Got the Canik Rival S as well but am going your route with the new Holosun Comp. When do you think that they will be out?

They are trickling out as we speak. Lots of sites allowed back orders so they will be filling those for a while I’d imagine. I looked for sites that weren’t doing back orders and signed up to be alerted when they got stock.

Have you had any issues with reflection from the chrome finish on the canik cause problems when you are shooting on a very sunny day ?

exact same setup i have with the RIval-S and HOlosun 507Comp....where you using factory Spring setups or did you make any changes? Im having trouble finding the right combination to successfully shoot 147gr/925FPS reloads without constant stovepiping..only 400-500 rounds thru it all together.

Gotta drop down to a 15-16lb recoil spring to run comp loads. I suggest the w74 tungsten guide rod and a 16lb wolf commander length spring. That what I found to work the best.

@@CTrainI got the same setup and it was still stovepiping…I just went down to 12lb but haven’t tested it yet. I also just changed the striker spring to a 6lb. Did you leave the factory striker spring in?

@@PhatTactical I’m running the sprinco 29 newton striker. Going below 14lb on the caniks is asking for reliability issues. In my experience.

@@PhatTactical when you say stovepiping it’s catching a spent case with the slide? Or it’s not extracting and leaving a spent case in the chamber? My steel frame started failing to extract. It needed a new extractor spring to get back to functioning. I ended up selling it and going back to the polymer.

@@CTrain mainly not extracting the spent brass it catches on the slide..some the casing doesn’t even budge out of the barrel after firing..but it cycles all other ammo like nothing

How do you like the 507 Comp? Want to put one on my Staccato, if I can find one that's not backordered.

So far I’m loving it. Feels and looks durable. The dot is clean and bright enough to be seen even on the sunniest days. My cmore always felt like if it had one more click of brightness it would be good. The 507 as two more clicks basically. I don’t use the other reticles just the 2moa dot. But some people may like the options.
Def don’t order one back ordered. They are popping up in stock here and there you just have to keep and eye out and sign up to be notified on the sites that offer that service.

How do you like Rival S so far?

I ended up selling it and getting a second polymer rival as a back up. It started to fail to extract pretty regularly. I sent it back to canik, they shot 18 rds out of it, called it good and sent it back. I called and asked about extractor springs, they said they had none to sell and no eta on when they will. So i was basically dead in the water. The polymer rival has twice the round count on it and still no issues. And the parts are available on it. Id suggest staying away from the S until they come out with a v2
