Honestly, I think the Sorento looks better than the Telluride now. Those amber DRLs make quite a statement on the road and look amazing. Doesn’t really work well with the red color option though.
We considered both when we wanted to replace our 155k mile 17' Sorento. We were kinda surprised that the new 25' Sorento cost as much or more than the 24' Telluride. In the end, we chose the Telluride SX AWD. We liked the bigger size and the V6 for higher mileage long-term ownership. Not quite sure of the turbo's long term reliability.
I would get the kia hybrid. I like the wolf grey color. I would avoid the 2.5 turbo due to the double clutch transmission. The only thing i don't like on the kia is the radio controls. But i usually use the steering wheel controls for my radio on my 18 forte.
I was very much on the Telluride Covid bandwagon 😂 ended up getting a 2024 sore to x-line this year and scoff at them now. Sorentos are bad ass! Telluride like so five years ago LOL
Either Hyundai/Kia will make the Palisade/Telluride full sized vehicles, or they are going to discontinue them in favor of the Santa Fe/Sorento. There's no reason for them to have 2 very similar 3-row midsize SUVs.
We bought a24 telluride SX Prestige in Florida and are so impressed. We are considering either for our Canadian vehicle, we have a 2020 Lexus RX 450H in Canada and the Kia is hands down a better drive except the engine doesn’t seem as refined. I would like to see some noise level comparisons . Does the Sorento have laminated glass as the Telluride does and it is so quiet. One overall beef with Kia is you can’t lock the door from them inside as you leave . You must use the outside lock button or the fob . No good reason for this not being a programable option . Also not a big fan over the walk up open/close lift gate . Kick sensor is better in our opinion.
I don't need the 3rd row but i want the space. My daily has been a Toyota Avalon for the last 10+ years so I am use to the space if offers. So I have been looking at the Telluride in a SX Prestige package plus ome addons. I don't drive offroad so no need for a offroad look or setup.
@@paultyrrell4586you listened reason why I prefer sorento over telluride.. telluride is no doubt preferred by most but for me personally I will rarely need 3rd row seating and telluride doesn’t have hybrid option
Fine down-to-earth Review. Well done. I'd go for the Sorento. Don't need a bigger vehicle. I also prefer the Sorento Engine for power. Previously I was looking at the Sante Fe, but when they went BOXY with the 2024, it's OUT. Thanks Again!
I need advice please 🙏🏼 I am seriously considering the Sorento X-pro sx prestige. I have driven both Sorento and Telluride in the same trim. I like the size and features of Sorento best. I have back problems and I need a comfortable seat for hour or more drive. What is your opinion on the seats in the Sorento as far as long drive and comfort? Any advice would help, thanks!
I had a 2020 ex loved it recently got hit by a red light drunk driver he totaled my car but I got a bruise on my shoulder that was it! My car held up and kept me safe and alive!!!! For a smaller suv they are super safe! I’m upgrading to the telluride which was my first pick but was out of my budget back then. Hope this helps
For me, when I buy what I believe to be my last car (retirement), I want something with good gas mileage. The Telluride has the size I want (like the Grand Highlander), but I wish it has the option for the Sorento engine. That is probably the one thing that will prevent me from getting the Telluride.
I have a 24 Telluride as my retirement vehicle and the best I can get around town is 12 mpg. with that being said the highlander was on my short list but it is extremely smaller on the inside. if you don't need the room go for the highlander. I love the Telluride , in hindsight I would had gotten a higher trim level....I have the S trim with added awd and a sunroof.
The sorento has a 4 cylinder turbo because it’s a lighter smaller vehicle. The turbo is to get more out of the 4 cylinder. The Telluride has the V6 without the turbo. So you don’t really want the sorento engine in the telluride but you’d like a turbo option for the v6. Which would probably add thousands to the price and they wouldn’t sell enough of them because it wouldn’t be worth the extra performance or they would have done it. They certainly have a lot of trim levels.
Kia pricing these two so close is giving me vibes of what Mazda is doing with the CX-70/CX-90 (except they're both essentially the same dimensions and design, inside and out)
Had a 2011 Sorento, traveled well but long distances had a numbing effect after 4 hours. Going big bc of transmission, comfort, and elbow room. Have to have a bench second seat!
it would be more helpful if you could display on screen which car you're showing per shot. it got a little confusing knowing which one you were showing until you mentioned it.
Yeah, and he found it hilarious that they have the same extremely boxy look. So what's up with that, and why didn't they change it? That doesn't make much sense to me.
Many comments - but just to help you improve. Please speak more slowly. You hardly finish one word before beginning the next. It was very hard for me to follow. Shine your shoes and wipe down any spots on the cars. It just looks shabby. Don't continuously swing your camera around. It's hard for the autofocus to keep up and I'm getting vertigo. Attention to these small details will vastly improve the "likability" of your videos. Your content is ok.
YES! I thought it was just me - having trouble understanding much of what he was saying. He talked too fast and just seemed to run all the words/sentences together. Sometimes the speech was rather mumbled & slurred, and I had to constantly replay. At times, I didn't know which vehicle he was describing. It's as if he rushed through the whole presentation part of the demo. Hopefully, he'll consider these comments as constructive criticism for improvement, and NOT a personal attack.
I don't want a large SUV, Telluride uses more gas with V6, optional 3rd row if I ever have more than 4 ppl in my car (2x a yr maybe), plus I want a PHEV. 🤷🏼♀️
I walked into the house and my wife was watching this. As a car guy, I cringed during the cold start revs. We live close to this dealership. I told her not to buy the a ones you did that to 😂
Attention- This is a public service announcement. If you buy a Kia you are out of your mind. It will break often. The paint may even fly off. Oh wait. Kia is better now…nevermind!

7:00 you can change it so that the speedometer changes with the modes in the settings. Just got a 24 xpro and did that
The kia telluride has more cargo room and more seating for passengers
And more expensive 😅
@@Elmosafirtvexactly, it's like compare Palisade vs Santa Fe

in canada telluride is 200/month more expansive O.o
They reallocated the Sorento. It used to be in the same category as the Hyundai Santa Fe, where Telluride is to Palisade.
I would (if I could) buy a Kia TELLURIDE & a Kia SORENTO (on the trailer) behind the KIA TELLURIDE
Telluride looks good for a suv I like Telluride
Same here I’m still contemplating either Kia Telluride or this. And all frost white Pearl white or a olive green
What trim level were each?
It seemed that the Sorento had a higher level.
Outstanding journalism

@Brian_Eugene_Lee good to know if true, but why wait that long instead of launching the redesign alongside the Santa Fe and Sorento?

If you DONT need a third row, get the sorrento. Similar size, seat folds down and slightly cheaper plus better gas mileage*

Hyundai Kia is the new Toyota Honda
No.
Facts!!!💯
Not even close
How are these basically the same price?
Did you specify what trim they are?

The Telluride has a seat massager that comes on every 30 minutes
Both of them looks good inside but under hood's reliability and long term ownership????????

Sorento INTERIOR feels more spacious to me than the telluride.... Telluride feels bulky with a surprisingly smaller interior feel.

Both look nice but sorry to is wayyy better on fuel economy. I did some research
Wish you included which trims cuz trims do matter

Do you ever use signals
Thank You! If you have the room the Telluride has the more room and should bring more $$$ at resale.
Sorento
Thanks!
All I can see is that cream colored station wagon in the background. Man they don’t make cars like they used to. It looks like a tank!!!!!
Why did Kia make 2 very similar SUV's around the same price point? You would thing that there would be substantial differences between the two.
Yeah, and he found it hilarious that they have the same extremely boxy look. So what's up with that, and why didn't they change it? That doesn't make much sense to me.
The griswald ghost buster station wagon.

The cops still on that traffic stop 🚔🚔
Nice job, perhaps next time you wash the vehicles. :-)
Telluride seemed Much quieter ride!😳😎🙄
My birthday is in 2 days
0 reason to pay the same or similar price for the smaller car with the rougher ride and less room.
I don't want a large SUV, Telluride uses more gas with V6, optional 3rd row if I ever have more than 4 ppl in my car (2x a yr maybe), plus I want a PHEV. 🤷🏼♀️
They are different trim levels, the top trim telluride is like 5k more than the top trim sorento
I got a sorrento because the hybrid option. 227 hp 1.6 turbo hybrid that averages 41 mpg
Gonzalez William Thompson Margaret Garcia Paul
Telluride V6 is weak sauce. No torque. Waiting for Kia to put the 3.3 twin turbo from the stinger in the new X-Pro. Wishful thinking. 😢
I walked into the house and my wife was watching this. As a car guy, I cringed during the cold start revs. We live close to this dealership. I told her not to buy the a ones you did that to 😂
Both msrp heheh area kidding
Please loook again and update your info
Toyota highlander
But I think these have more features and I would prefer a non v6 engine for gas mileage.
Neither ☠️
Too bad the Telluride is $20,000 overpriced

These cars are so ugly.
They hurt my eyes.
I am forced to look away.
Why would anyone buy this distopian wannabe.
Buy a Pilot, Passport, Atlas, Pathfinder, Grand Cherokee or anything else that’s NOT a Kia or Hyundai! 👎🏻🤦🏻♂️
Interesting, but why? I've been driving a Tucson for the past 4 years, and I didn't face any mech issues
Isn't grand Cherokee the worst rated car for reliability?
@longacre1041 - why not a Kia or Hyundai?
