Give me the Hyundai interior with the Kia exterior.

Plus, Toyota's engine and transmission would be my perfect 3 row.

I just bought a loaded Sorento Xline SX prestige. The inside is extremely nice. I'm 5 ft 11 and I fit in the third row no problem.

I like the Santa Fe quite a bit and respect how they went for it with something quite daring. However, the Sorento is more to my personal liking. It’s a great looking vehicle.

Actually Really liked the Santa Fe. Love the boxier open feel and kids love it. SEL also has lane assist hands free driving with radar cruise, I have a Tesla Model 3 with full FSD but I feel much safer how the Hyundai Drives and handles hands free driving.

The '24 Hyundai Santa Fe was my choice because the turbo comes in the base model SE. I got a roomy, quick SUV for around $34K. If you want the turbo in the Sorento, you have to pay over $39K for the EX model. These 3 row crossovers are way too heavy for the 190 HP non-turbo base engine in the Sorento.

Everything Santa Fe is better except the rear end. But that rear end is growing inme now that I see them in person - better in person than picture/video
The hybrid is the powertrain to buy for either

We love our new Santa Fe Limited. Great vehicle.

Test drove the hybrid versions of both, Sorento SX Prestige vs Santa Fe Calligraphy. The Sorento is definitely noisier at highway speeds, and feels a little less refined overall. If you want a plush quiet ride with creature comforts, then between these 2 the Santa Fe Calligraphy is the way to go.
Also no spare tire on the Santa Fe hybrid, but the Sorento hybrid has it. For that reason alone we are going with the Sorento.

Also keep in mind you're comparing a refresh to a redesign. This particular Sorento would be more comparable to the last gen Santa Fe with regards to traditionalism. A great video non the less.

Hyundai over do things, they always redesign their cars and its sometimes kinda difficult to identify unless you see the logo. This new Santa Fe looks nice in the front but rear looks like an alien 👽

They’ve designed the back that way to allow for larger gas struts, so the boot can open to a higher height.

The screen for climate control is cool af. I rented a EV6 and it has the same screen and it was intuitive and very easy to use.

The Santa Fe seems better because of the layout of buttons for the AC. However the layout of the shifter is better for the Sorento. I line the looks of the Sorento better on the outside but the Santa Fe inside. The Santa Fe has better visibility foe driving and it's features seem more safer then the Sorento. I was just wondering is the Santa Fe column shifter the same set up as the Senota?

You hit the nail on the head. The Santa Fe was built by a person who actually sat in it, and the Sorrento is just cookie cutter.

likely a camera that tracks eyes or something for driver assistance/attention warning. Don't worry. That only shows up on a camera lens not real life

  • @magnoliap5824

The Kia doesn’t offer a second row bench on higher trims, not everyone wants captains chairs. Hyundai is a no with that back end and DCT. PS that light interior in the Santa Fe will be dirty in 1 second! Most people don’t look out back windows anymore with so much technology helping. I pick neither.

SF looks cooler IMO, but DCT transmission issues on both. Kia greatly restricts the number of trims you can get a 2nd row bench on, so that’s another point for the SF.

The engine and transmission are the same. So you look for other things. I can't remember who owns a certain percentage of the other company. I do remember they are both Korean manufacturers. I think it's one company owns 20 percentage of the other. Fact check me on this to se who own what.

Both companies are Korean owned. One of the companies owns like a 20 percentage stake of the other. The main difference is Hyundai seems to have way better safty ratings. They are pretty much the same under the hood.

Neither of these are cheap, $45k can get you plenty of new SUVs without having to resort to used. Honda Passport for instance… solid hauler, great powertrain, great reliability. That’d be my choice for the money. New 4runner SR5 premium is also right around 45k if you want something even more trucky.

i think you mean that if we have money, we can buy junk that will last 2-3 years but if your broke, buy a used truck or ugly outdated interior like toyotas/honda. Its a luxury man
