I really enjoy these types of videos. As I've gotten older I've definitely found I feel much more strongly about sustainability and trying to decrease my impact on the environment. Thanks for sharing!
You are just too cute and made me laugh out loud several times 😂 I love your silliness and very useful, down to earth suggestions, advice, and links...i can tell you've put alot of time and effort into your channel and it doesn't go unnoticed. You've got a new subbie! Can't wait for more!!!
What a fabulous video! I've seen lots of zero waste vids and this is the first One I'm commenting on! It's definitely the best I'v seen 😍. You truly "walk the talk" all while being super funny and so entertaining! We compost, hv a rain barrel and try not to buy anything if the packaging is not recyclable. We already do some of the ideas you mention but we can still do better and I will definitely make the switch to many of the items you showed. Safety Razors, Moon Cups and Cotton Rounds - here we come! Thanks for the awesome video! Xoxo 🌏♻️👍🏻
+EK Family What a marvellous comment! Thank you! Hoping to start composting this year.. all the open tabs on my laptop right now are about worm bins and composting! Sounds like you already do a lot but glad to have inspired a few new ideas. Great work! :)
So happy I found your channel. I want to start living more environmentally conscious and you have such good ideas. There should more like you. Thanks for your advice.
Great viand channel. I laughed out loud with the moon cup dance! We have the diva cup in the U.S. Helpful tips for the rest of the swaps too. Great video!
+Gemma Suen Thanks for your lovely comment! Not quite at the Lauren Singer standard yet, although hoping to start composting in the next few months which should reduce our trash enormously! Step by step... Great to hear you've got most of these covered! :)
This was fantastic, for once UA-cam recs are actually something I wanted to watch. :D I'm especially happy to find some UK options for the stuff bc I'm just getting into the zero waste movement and so much of what I've found so far is American. Thank you for these great tips! :)
I treated myself to the Keep Cup...I adore it! I took it into work the other day and 2 coworkers wanted to know, "WHERE did I get that? It's SO cool!" Thanks for the tip!
Hey Amanda, thanks for your lovely message! Such a great water bottle isn't it?! I have found with the razor, a light (almost no pressure) glide works best. Hope you figure it out eventually! There are some youtube vids on how to use it out there, I def watched a few before giving it a go! Good luck!
I absolutely love this Zero Waste! Since moving to the farm were able to burn or compost most of our waste but we try to limit our glass plastics and metals and recycle what we do use..Inspired!! xxx
+Vicky fallon Hey! Thanks for such lovely messages and glad you enjoyed some of the vids! Would love to get composting.... one day, when we have more than a tiny balcony and somewhere to put it! I know who to call for any tips now! xxx
Karen Haynes Thanks Karen! I now have a small worm bin on our balcony. So far, so good although I think they're still settling in a little. Have spotted some baby worms in there now too!
How do you plan which jar or container to carry? I never really know if I'm going to have tea or coffee, so I feel compelled to bring two travel mugs (one for tea, one for coffee, I cannot use the same one due to some memory effect issue on the plastic components of the lid), but with these two, the water bottle, my lunch, my workout gear, my bag gets ridiculously heavy and bulky... I guess you just decide which one to use and stick with it for the rest of the day? By the way, you're adorable! Thanks for the tips!
Yay! One thing I'm wondering with all the things you hVe to remember and carry around with you, do you find you carry around a lot more weight and sometimes not have the right things with you?
+Helen McCarthy Hey Helen, sorry for a late reply! I usually just carry a small cloth bag with me in my pocket in case I want to get something on the go without planning and usually enjoy a coffee to "stay in" or "eat in" at a cafe. I've gotten better at planning ahead though and now take a water bottle with me when I'm out for longer than an hour. Hope that helps! Just improvise as you go!
+ECO BOOST thanks Kate. Yeah, zero-waste really is so much about just planning and always being prepared. (not things I'm naturally good at). Well, we'll see how I go. :)
👍 Great video, thanks. It would have been nice to have the items you mentioned in the video listed down in the description box. I had to replay the video pause and play many times to write the items down.
Hi Kate!! Thanks for your videos, really fun and informative! I was wondering where you bought your razor and replacements, would u be so kind to let us know? :)
+CloudChalk Hey, my razor is by Edwin Jagger and was about £23 I think and the razor blades can be bought from anywhere including Boots. I found some that came in card packaging from Sin Plastico - an online shop based in Spain but ship throughout Europe who stock reusable alternatives without plastic. Hope that helps!
Great video :) just wondering where you buy your loose leaf tea? I want to make the switch to lose leaf but am struggling to find anywhere that doesn't sell it in plastic! Do you buy it in bulk somewhere? Thank you :) xx
Two questions: How do you recycle your razors? I've been stocking up, I am afraid to put it in metal recycling just in case anyone gets hurt. Where do you buy your loose leaf tea in bulk? I am having difficulty finding it in london.... Thank you for the video, its much appreciated.
+Nada Kurdi Hi! I have a small collection of razors too. I have found that my local waste disposal centre (Smugglers Way) recycles scrap metal amongst other things so will take them there eventually (maybe once I have a lot more to drop off). Check your local site as they should have a list of what they accept and hopefully they can recycle it too! Re loose leaf tea in London, I usually go to the Dry Goods Store in Maida Vale for organic loose leaf tea but the Algerian Coffee Store in Soho on Old Compton Street sells some organic teas too. My Cup Of Tea near Ham Yard Hotel just off Piccadilly sells loose leaf tea but not sure much of it is organic. All of these places are cool with you bringing your own container or cloth bag (I opt for cloth bags as I find them easier). Whole foods Market on High St Ken also sells loose leaf tea but again it's not organic. Hope that helps!
+Nath Anter Hey Nath, I use a canon 600D and a rode clip mic which I record the sound to through my phone and then sync in the edit afterwards. I hope that helps!
I have a question, is it better to not ask for a straw and have the supply go to waste, or to go ahead and use a straw knowing that it's being used? I know I'm just one person, but if enough people were to say no what would happen to the straws and other unnecessary plastic items?
what do you keep your straw in when you're out and about? i carry mine in my bag alone but need a better way in case im drinking a sweet (sticky drink)
You could rinse them if you can find a bathroom soon after. You could get like one of those long pencil holder things.. Or even those on the go tooth brush holders.
I usually just wrap it in a cloth bag inside my handbag or rinse it out using some of the water from my water bottle or a nearby bathroom. Hope that helps! :)
Where do you get the replacement blades for your razor? do all safety razors take the same size/type? I'm about to get mine from Amazon and checked for replacement blades but they are not so cheap :/
+Julieta Lucca As far as I know all safety razor blades are compatible. I've been using a safety razor for my facial hair and I love it! I bought my razor blades from Amazon and I thought that they were very reasonably priced. I bought 100 Personna razor blades and it cost me $12.13. There are likely cheaper ones out there.. It's probably more important to buy a bigger pack than sacrifice in quality. The 100 pack that I bought doesn't take up much room and they seem to last a very long time. 100 blades should last me 3 years or more!
+nhessell they are! I usually soak mine in hot water and castile soap and then sometimes I'll pop them in the washing machine too although they still have a few make up stains on them when I do this. I think soaking them is the best option followed by a machine wash if you fancy. SW Basics sell them with a little laundry pouch so they don't get caught in your machine. Hope that helps!
Metallic straws?.... I don't think that is a good idea, they look extremely dangerous to me... If someone or something bumps into you when you are using the straws, they could be shoved inside your mouth resulting in a very nasty injury.
I just learned about the Zero Waste movement and this was extremely helpful. Thanks!
+Erika D Thanks! Glad you found it!
I love your sense of humor and personality :) Keep up the positive attitude!
Thank you Tatiana! Super lovely comment!

Thanks so much for kind comment and for subscribing! Learning as I go and enjoying the process. :)
Omg, you're adorable! The most fun #zerowaste video I've ever watched. 😄
Another fabulous video Kate, including reusable straws you can point with, that was fantastic!
+KOVERED UK Ha thanks guys! You never know when things might need pointing at! ;)

Great viand channel. I laughed out loud with the moon cup dance! We have the diva cup in the U.S. Helpful tips for the rest of the swaps too. Great video!
i really likes this video :) Btw, the sleeve on a coffee cup is called a zarf
I love the Eco jar, I am going to purchase some today :) What a great idea! Thanks for the tip
Yess! I've been hoping for a UK version of Lauren Singer :D I have half of these nailed! Didn't think about the spork or metal straw though!
+Gemma Suen Thanks for your lovely comment! Not quite at the Lauren Singer standard yet, although hoping to start composting in the next few months which should reduce our trash enormously! Step by step... Great to hear you've got most of these covered! :)

Welcome!! Glad UA-cam sent you this way. Hope you enjoy discovering the whole zero waste lifestyle. :)
ohmygosh you're the most fabulous person ever! Keep inspiring! Love your bubbly and fun personality!
The cork part is called a zarf it is used so you don't burn your hands :)
would love to see your bag when you go out!!
your passion is admirable
I treated myself to the Keep Cup...I adore it! I took it into work the other day and 2 coworkers wanted to know, "WHERE did I get that? It's SO cool!" Thanks for the tip!
+Meg Sorensen Pleasure and thanks for such a lovely comment. Aren't the Keep Cups just so awesome?! :)
Hey Amanda, thanks for your lovely message! Such a great water bottle isn't it?! I have found with the razor, a light (almost no pressure) glide works best. Hope you figure it out eventually! There are some youtube vids on how to use it out there, I def watched a few before giving it a go! Good luck!
These are all awesome I just can't help but laugh at your face about the spork
Love the straws!!
could use a coffee press for both coffee brewing and tea brewing. Has reusable filter so no need for paper filters.
I adore your accent :) Really cool products, I think I need a Klean Kanteen bottle in my life :D
I absolutely love this Zero Waste! Since moving to the farm were able to burn or compost most of our waste but we try to limit our glass plastics and metals and recycle what we do use..Inspired!! xxx

+ECO BOOST Look into worms for small spaces. I use a "Worm Cafe" in my garage, but some are small enough for under the sink.
Karen Haynes Thanks Karen! I now have a small worm bin on our balcony. So far, so good although I think they're still settling in a little. Have spotted some baby worms in there now too!

Loved this!
Hi! I love watching your videos! Do you have any zero waste swap idea for a lint roller? Thank you :)
👍 Great video, thanks. It would have been nice to have the items you mentioned in the video listed down in the description box. I had to replay the video pause and play many times to write the items down.
Thanks! I have just done that for you now. I hope that helps and great suggestion!
+ECO BOOST - 👍👍 Wow! I'm shocked. You're awesome! Thank you!!! Wishing you continued success. 🤗 (I've been binge watching your videos.)
The pleasure was all mine! Thanks again :)
Hi! Great video. What brand of safety razor do you use/recommend?
Hi, thank you so much for this video! It was really helpful and gave lots of great ideas :-)
Hi Kate!! Thanks for your videos, really fun and informative! I was wondering where you bought your razor and replacements, would u be so kind to let us know? :)
haha i just stumbled across you - super lovely and sympathic! rock on, lady! :)
Hi! Great video :) I was wondering what brand of safety razor do you use? And where did you purchase it and the blades? Thank you!
Are Sporks not a common thing over there? We have them in fast food joints all over, in America.
Great video :) just wondering where you buy your loose leaf tea? I want to make the switch to lose leaf but am struggling to find anywhere that doesn't sell it in plastic! Do you buy it in bulk somewhere? Thank you :) xx
I do! I have a little blog post over at eco-boost.co where I share my fave places to buy items from bulk in London. Hope that helps!
Two questions:

+ECO BOOST Thank for taking the time to reply! These are great suggestions, I'll have to check out the Dry Goods store!!
The menstrual cup lasts around 15 years. Until it starts to break down. So no worries and no need to use a pad underneath
Awesome video I love it lol 👍🙋💚🇺🇸
cool video.. i zero waste as much as i can.. does zero waste week happen every September? i'm in the states.. i wonder if we have one here..
WOW your hair is so cute hehe
what camera device are you using? all your videos are really cool.. keep posting!
+Nath Anter Hey Nath, I use a canon 600D and a rode clip mic which I record the sound to through my phone and then sync in the edit afterwards. I hope that helps!
You are the most adorable person !!!!

Hey I'm wondering, are the cloth pads a good alternative to the diva/moon cups?
your so funny you make me smile :]
what do you keep your straw in when you're out and about? i carry mine in my bag alone but need a better way in case im drinking a sweet (sticky drink)

I can't wear tampons or mooncups.. is there another zero waste/eco friendly option??

Where can I buy that razor? x
Are the cotton rounds reusable? If so, how is it washed?
+nhessell they are! I usually soak mine in hot water and castile soap and then sometimes I'll pop them in the washing machine too although they still have a few make up stains on them when I do this. +ECO BOOST Awesome! Thanks so much!
WOW, LOV U SO MUCH !
How do you eat pasta??

Thank you!
Isn't that the woman from that British channel?
Is she from Anglophenia channel?
+Jo C Yes
where did you get your spork
+amber gulyban I picked up a set at a Thrift Store for just a dollar. They've been around as a casual dining/picnic utensil for quite a while.
The keep cup is so tiny i can't even
Are tea bags compostable (of that's a word)
If they are not made with a plastik net they usually are!
+SurfergirlKH ahh okay I was worried because id been putting tea bags in to compost for ages xD
+Caitlin Arris Me too, coffee pads too :-) they are also a great fertilizer for tomatoes!
I have tried contacting you via Instagram regarding sponsored posts. Would love to hear back from you. Love your videos, great tips!!!
I once was asked by a bartender if I wanted a straw. I told him that straws are for sissys and he laughed 😆 i obviously did not take one 👌🏻😎
+SurfergirlKH Ha! Great work! I now try to make a comical big deal out of the fact I want no straw. Seems to be working so far!
You're lovely😊
Like a female charlieissocoollike and amazingphil wrapped in one :)
i tought sicsoring was the new spooning but nvm...
You look like Kiera Knightly!
spork hahaha ....
Metallic straws?.... I don't think that is a good idea, they look extremely dangerous to me...
If someone or something bumps into you when you are using the straws, they could be shoved inside your mouth resulting in a very nasty injury.
hcm9999 They sell silicone straws if you are concerned
I never use straws.
:)
is that... a pig!!??? i thought it was an elephant!
you look like Britney Spears ,but you are more beatifull than her 🌹
