    There's a lot of symptoms that go with a migraine. Severe pain, light sensitivity, nausea, vomiting and it can take up to 3 to 5 days for it to go away without medication.

    There are many things that can cause migraine symptoms.
    I used to get migraines a lot.
    I have insomnia, I had female issues, there were times that I was under a lot of stress. Then, I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes. Once I got my blood sugar levels under control and on the right meds, the migraines stopped.

    I have migraine headaches and was told after an MRI that I had sinusitis. I kid you not, I looked the doctor right in the eye with a dirty look and told him "If you had bothered to look at my medical history you would see I've had sinusitis for over 20 years but these migraines have only been happening for the last eight!" It was a general practitioner, not a neurologist. I finally convinced a different PCP to get me in with a neurologist. Sometimes my migraines are from lack of sleep, sleeping on my hair (it's down to my waist), not remembering to take my hair down before bed and the bun/ponytail puts pressure on the occipital nerves, putting my hair up in a bun when wet (wet hair shrinks as it dries), ect. They only occur in one spot at a time, and the spot is different every time. I'm thankful I'm on a medication that works within an hour so I can function and go about my day. I've only had migraines that were so bad that I threw up. Had one once that caused me to scream in pain and, crazy as it sounds, it both helped with the pain and made it worse at the same time. Haven't had one of those in years thankfully.

      I have an unknown variant of "terminal" CF since birth, and I get allot of sinus issues. DRs ignored it for years, and it was getting increasingly difficult to speak without a weird tongue and jaw twich. I finally had a seizure and supposedly suffocated/died while still standing. And once they resuscitated me, they finally put me on an MRI. They found a huge abcess on the speech part of my brain. It came up from a nose infection into my brain, and almost took up half of my brain. They drained the abcess, which left a huge hole in my brain/head, and i had to learn to communicate again, as if i was a 1 yr old.. im still on anti seizures.. It's still crazy that no hospital or doctor found it for years despite its obvious severity and appearance in my throat. I told them for about 5 years, and they always said i was fine. I would say "always get a 2nd opinion", but in my case, it has been an 8th opinion with each one of my sicknesses xD I had to travel for allot of them. be careful people. Be stern. Know your body. And stay strong everyone! I litterally had to die for them to take it seriously, and I ended up damaged for life. So be sure to speak up and change docs if you have to

    Cluster headache/migranes really suck. For about 2 years I would get pain on the right side if my face starting with my back molar and up around ny eye. Just barely touching my face on the right side made it worse.
    For the longest time I thought it was tooth pain, cause swishing that side of my mouth with alcohol temporarily alieviated the pain.
    Long story short, I was triggering a closter head ache/migraines with my daily dise of air borne/cold-eze. 5 years later I have diacovered sports drinks, too much citrus drinks like orange juice and lemonade, along with kombucha are all triggers as well.
    I miss lemon water the most.

    • @marshaaragon2336

      If you are triggered by citric acid, you may also be triggered by tomato's, dark chocolate, processed meats such as much meat, bacon, anything that contains nitrates, and wine. These are not cluster headaches as they cannot be "set off" they are migraine headaches as those can be set off atany time. I know because I have a horrible case. The list I gave you is a short list of foods to avoid found on the Mayo Clinic website (or was a few years ago) I like you miss orange juice alot but it is an instant trigger for me, as is cigarette smoke and certain tomato sauces. I make quite a bit of my own food so I know what is in it is ok for me and I have a good treatment plan, but migraines are not fun.

    Migraines are the freaking worst. I've had them since I was three, and I still have no idea why. The worst part of a migraine isnt the pain, which is crap at best. Nope, its the hangover afterward. That crap can last for days sometimes, especially if it was a really bad episode. Sometimes Ill end up with a week long tension headache just from having a migraine. I feel for people who deal with these little devil spells. They are a gd waking nightmare.

The pain is located on one side of my head, but a great deal of it is concentrated onto one eye. As a kid I'd have to hold in tears to keep it from getting worse, because migraines are vicious. I'd always have the urge to rip out my own eye.
    They got better/less aggressive when I became homeschooled and less around stimuli. And now I'm on a medication that helps prevent them, and it's great being able to go into a grocery store and not leave with a high risk of being debilitated for hours.

    As someone who occasionally gets cluster headaches and thank God its been happening less often as I have gotten older its far from just a headache behind one of your eyes.. It is literally such a crippling pain that moving your body can cause such a flair up of intense pain that is unimaginable.. Like I generally throw up from the pain it causes and the stress of my body tensing up to theow up causes the pain to flair up making it a vicious cycle.. And the worst thing is that a lot of people don't understand how debilitating it can be because its called a "headache". And while I also don't want to discredit the pain some people deal with but the overuse of the term migraine even doesn't help people that truly suffer from them. Because I really believe people confuse what an actual headache is with a migraine and don't understand how debilitating migraines can be as well. Its not a contest for who has it worst but its just a shame people sometimes view migraines as just a "bad headache" and not what it actually is. I really wouldn't wish a migraine let alone a cluster headache upon my worst enemies. The one silver lining I have at least found personally with cluster headaches is that I am much less sensitive to light or sound than some people with migraines can be its just the movement and crippling pain aspect that really make it so bad lol...

      Obviously I don’t expect someone in the comments to have the answer to this question, but after seeing your post, it just makes me think about how I can’t tell if what I suffer from are cluster headaches or migraines.
      I’ve tried to look at articles online but the headaches I deal with are a combination of the symptoms of both. Stabbing pain (almost always behind my right eye), can last anywhere from a half hour to all day, can be accompanied by nausea if it gets really bad, doesn’t necessarily cause more discomfort to have the lights on but does feel better to close my eyes and lay down, doesn’t affect my vision, and is usually brought on from either being dehydrated or extremely stressed out. I’m starting to think I’m leaning more towards migraine, but I’ve had these for over a decade and still can’t figure it out. My doctor’s I’ve had are also not really much help

It isn't fun, especially since mine come with severe disorientation and a gradual loss in my ability to clearly speak as the migraines worsens.
      There's also a type that can cause temporary blindness in one or both eyes, one that causes you to see severe distortions in your field of vision, one that causes partial paralysis, and one that can cause severe balance issues.

      i have some news for you. having headaches more than 15 times a month for at least three months lasting at least two hours each means you have chronic migraines. if you saw a neurologist about it, the first thing they would do is have you try to find patterns for when they occur (like if you don’t sleep well the night before, where you are in your menstrual cycle, if you were under a higher than usual amount of stress, your diet, etc) which can help determine the cause and therefore give you a treatment that’ll actually help. obviously not all of your migraines will be caused by just one trigger but finding the underlying cause & eliminating it could also eliminate other triggers (for example, if your migraines occur most often while you are ovulating or close to ovulation bc you experience insomnia when you are ovulating, putting you on birth control would prevent you from ovulating so you wouldn’t be dealing with insomnia due to ovulation)

    Turns out my eyes were making up for a slight far sightness and they were giving out by the end of the day

    • @transsnack
      @transsnack 3 місяці тому +1

      Yeah, far sightedness can screw you up. I had an eye doctor incorrectly tell me that my eyes were fine, which I did question because there was no way that my eyesight suddenly fixed itself entirely over the course of a year and a half, but he insisted and I was too broke for a second opinion, so I decided to trust the professional. Don't... do what I did. Constant headaches within a month, a noticeable worsening in my silent migraines (including visual migraines, which I'm not actually prone to, my eyes were just so stained that they started reacting with my migraines), and at the end of it, I lost muscular control of part of my left eye, it just stopped responding to input and I temporarily lost that vision. At that point, my mom finally pushed me to make an emergency appointment with a new eye doctor. I'm farsighted with an astigmatism, worse than it was before all of this. All of my symptoms were severe eye strain. I got new glasses, and most of my symptoms cleared up within a week. I'm still pretty mad at that first doctor.

    • @Quinid1
      @Quinid1 3 місяці тому

      @@transsnack That sounds very similar to my situation!
      My right eye was 3 clicks far sighted and my left eye was fine. So my brain stopped using the right eye unless forced to. Thus, I lost depth perception and I had a blind spot in sports.
      But since it started at such a young age, I did not know better. I was given glasses, but the glasses gave me double vision. So I never wore them.
      Fast forward to middle age, my left eye went 1 click far sighted and right eye went 4 clicks far sighted.
      My focal lenses were compensating to give my left eye 20/20 allowing me to live without glasses. But now that I'm at the early stages of a bifocal age, the focal lenses are finally calling it quits.

    I've had daily migraines with varying degrees of pain and disability for almost 20 years. I refuse to call myself disabled, I refuse to give in- I'll always fight it because I have a family to take care of and a life to live even though it is frustrating and constantly painful and can be debilitating. I've had several surgeries- including several abdominal (which are reportedly some of the most painful) had 3 children, been through labor AND 3 c-sections, and I have to say that migraines are definitely the worst pain Ive ever had. Some of the most painful migraine headaches last for days at a time with the pain being the worst pain I can imagine. They often start at the base of my head ( cervical spine) and radiate up to usually my right temple, over to my eyes and deep into my head. This usually accompanies blurred or distorted ( everything looks slightly off-center, which is always good while driving, then someone has to come and pick me up) vision, often temporarily losing vision in one eye or both. The pain is electrical & stabbing as if the pain itself begins with a feeling in your head as something similar to the static you hear on a guitar monitor with that static & high pitched tone that is continuously being turned up until it's deafening- the pain being so intense that you throw up & any level of light or too much heat or cold is painful. Cold packs sometimes help but sometimes make it worse, heat is intolerable. Clothes or people touching your skin hurts, your face eyes and teeth hurt, you tremble and the pain feels as if it's vibrating through your head- like its so" loud" others should be able to "hear" or feel it just by standing nearby. It hurts to lay down, but you can't do anything but lie completely still with the pain rolling off you in waves. Crying makes it worse, but sometimes you cant take it anymore & end up sobbing while crawling to the bathroom to barf up whatever medicine you were hoping to keep down and obviously food and even drink are impossible. Pain medicine can dull it, but sometimes it ðź'does little. Im allergic to traditional migraine rescue medicine ( triptans) & NSAID's, so Im pretty limited to what I can take. You learn to live with people thinking you're lying when you have to call and cancel last minute- even if they know you are diagnosed with chronic pain- INCLUDING Secretaries at Dr.'s offices ( can't tell you how many Offices Ive been fired from because of their absence policies- mostly Dental ones) and losing friends because people think youre irresponsible or just dont care about keeping arrangements. It's a burden sometimes, its hard on families, & the pain can be horrific, but I always try to thank God I dont have anything worse than this- many people suffer far worse than with chronic pain, but I have to say it does TOTALLY suck:)

      I've suffered from migraines my entire life. I have a family that needs me, and I, too, have to suck it up and deal, and I also don't respond well to 99% of medication for it. Personally, the best that they have come up with for me is an old-school psychiatric medication - Halperadol. It doesn't always work, but it works better than botox, any pain meds, or migraine medication. Sending you love, light and healing.

    • @taramckinley7585
      @taramckinley7585 3 місяці тому +2

      @akpopfamily907 Thank you so much😊 It's good to hear of others who understand- not that Id wish migraines on my worse enemy. l do see a neurologist & take low dosage anticonvulsants which do seem to help some with overall pain levels. If medical insurance pays for it, frequency for severe ones seems to also be helped by a monthly injectable called Ajovy which has no side effects & stops the activity of Calcitonin Gene Related Peptides ( CGRP) - proteins in the brain that cause inflammation & vasodilation. (My Grandmother had migraines from early childhood, as did I- that seems to also be a factor in migraine sufferers)
      I also hope you heal, and God Bless you & your beautiful family❤️

It’s a bit of work to get it approved but well worth it. I get them FAR less frequently now and if I do, I take a thc gummy and go to sleep. Helps immensely.

    I went to see a doctor about my terrible headaches around my eye which debilitated me and sometimes moved to the back of my head to feel like someone was aggressively stabbing me. I saw 4 doctors. One said take paracetamol, these headaches started in 2019 and still happen, paracetamol is not for long term use. He should've known that. One made me get glasses, they didn't work because my eyes are completely fine. Another literally told me he didn't know and that was it. And the last was rude, called me a liar and said he didn't have time to talk to me because he had a conference call. So I gave up.
    If someone could please tell me why my headaches made me feel like I was likely to die in my sleep, why it ached so much I wanted to pull my eye and why that pain in the back of my head scared me to death, I'd really appreciate it. I still get the headaches, and my eye is still sensitive (I can feel it very faintly right now), but they're nowhere near as painful. I still want to know, because no one ever helped or explained or cared. I very much distrust doctors from so many experiences of my own and with my family now.

    I used to get migraines all the time. Years of trying to find the cause. It was overstimulation & weather patterns.
    And I find general ache behind both eyes means lack of hydration. It’s not super painful, just uncomfortable. You also have sinuses inside your brain, not just by your nose, so you can get a sinus headache and it feel more like a generalized headache.
    Migraines can also occur in the gut.

    I can teach you how to get rid of all headaches right quick.
    1. Breathe till you get your breath stable
    2. Empty your lungs, Act like your trying to stop yourself from peeing, squeeze, and hold.
    3. Breath in air SLOWLY for 7 secs or slowly fill your lungs completely full of air, then hold your breath for 4-6 secs (squeeze your private muscles the whole time don't let go)
    4. While holding your privates muscles, release most of the air 1st then let go of everything and just relax and breath. (You will feel your csf rush to your brain taking away your head ache)
    5. Repeat this 4-5 times you will feel that this is what your brain needed to keep going and the head ache will leave.
    Extra tips. This is also used to calm anyone down, keep yourself from being to horny, regain control, and problem solving.

    I was suffering from headaches and migraines. I learned that taking over the counter pain medication could make it worse if you consistently take. Muscle relaxants help but aren’t recommended for long term use. What I didn’t know was that most headaches are caused by a lack of magnesium, so I started taking a pinch of Celtic salt, which is high in magnesium. I let it dissolve on the tip of my tongue and started drinking electrolyte and alkaline water. Core,Body Armor and Essentia are my favorite brands to get and I’ve noticed I huge difference in my headaches and how often I get them.

The topnof the head can be tension from the Splenius Capitus- runs along the spine inyour neck. Back of head is usually the small.muscles in your neck right under the skull, which gets a lot of tension when you are stressed or have bad pressure.
