Looks so much better. If you really want to pull the room together, paint the side table black, paint the feet on the chair black and get a taller lamp (the current one is not the right scale for the space) with a black shade.
@@ShirleyDrake-xx2cs that’s my pet peeve. I cannot stand to go to someone’s house and have to make a bed that they have pushed up against the wall. I have the tiniest rooms one has literally a foot on each side, maybe a foot and a half and the little nightstands are a foot wide.
The room looks a lot more put together and really cozy. I do agree with all the comments to center the bed in the middle of the wall. Slide the little dresser over a bit and put the tree on the other side of the bed. I don’t know how other people feel about it, but I like being able to walk around my bed. Especially when making it. It makes it so much easier putting on the bedding. You could also make a floating shelf for a night stand wide enough for another small lamp and place a nice basket under the shelf. Something similar that matches the one you have next to the mirror. Over all, I think you did a great job Tiff 😃👏🏼👍🏼
That's a cute little dresser! I'd love to see you refinish it. Also, a tip for the drawers to make them easier to open/close. Pull the drawer out and wherever it has wood on wood as it moves, rub a bar of soap or an old candle. The waxy material really makes it smooth out. 😁
I agree, bed would look great in the middle with your nightstand next to it and the tree on the other side. You can spray paint the knobs black and if you want you can spray paint the night stand. You did a fabulous job. The room is nice and cozy and lucky the people who will stay in this beautiful room.
I really like the colours and the lighter rug as well. I would put the bed under the two pictures and the dresser in the corner. Maybe later if the budget allows ; a curtain rod and longer curtains to cozy it up. Gives me ideas for my space.Thankx!
I agree with moving the bed to the center of the wall. Getting a set of nightstands would look great, but even just putting that faux plant in the opposite corner would be better. I also think folding the sheet back with the comforter would help break up the cream bedspread. The throw right in front of the pillows takes away from them, so I would put that one on the chair or in the basket with the other throw. Love that little lamp!-but I think it’s too small for that nightstand and makes things look disproportionate. I would keep it and put it somewhere else-like on a shelf or counter. A lamp at least twice that size…or a sconce would look better. I also agree with you that the rug is too small, although I really like the styles you picked. Amazon is having a prime day in a couple days. This is a great start, and I’m looking forward to seeing your next episode!!
I think the bed centered would work better with the plant on the left in the corner. If you could refinish the night stand with a gray or beige would blend your colors. Add a small plant to the nightstand. I love all your colors and pictures. Great job.
Thank you for sharing a REAL HONEST makeover for the average person. ALSO. . GUYS.. I wanted to remind you that you can take that little chest.. clean it real well and use some gel stain to redo it!! A nice walnut would cover imperfections and aligned with your headboard. Easy peasy. Gel stain it on top so you don't have to do all that sanding❤❤❤❤
She spent almost $500 on this room. That is plenty to really upscale a bedroom if you shop sales. No one is being rude, just trying to be honest and helpful.
Wow ~ What a welcoming guest room! Great re-vamp on a budget. Love the cream and gray color scheme. To allow you to make the bed without crawling all over it, move the bed to the right so you can walk around it; the bed doesn't necessarily have to be centered but you need access to the other side to make the bed easily. Then, move the tree to the other side of the bed. Also, since the rug is too small a scale, consider moving it to the foot of the bed. If you do decide to up the budget, maybe you can find a small dresser at a Goodwill Store that you can paint to match the bedside table and add the same drawer pulls that you used here.
Thank you, Tiff. You accomplished a lot in a day. The room is more attractive, cozier, and restful. I just subscribed because your channel is a lot of fun and you make your projects doable, affordable, and realistic. I look forward to your next project.
The room looks good, improvement from what it was. I like all the bedding choices you made, colors, texture, etc. I think all the grays and creams work together as neutrals for a comfortable guest room. The only think I would do different - I would hang the 2 prints above the bed / headboard instead of centered on the wall.
I really like the pretty basket as a planter and the throw pillow with tassels is very cute! I like the little lamp too. When I saw the sheets were directly on the matters my inner OCD voice said, Mattress Cover!!!!! Get one!😅 But the room definitely looks more inviting and cozier!
Nintendo Zelda has a special place in my heart too. I loved the original in the 90s when my kids were little, and my youngest daughter and her partner bonded over a more modern version . . . and named my granddaughter (partially) in honor of the game's role in their romance. Love your projects!
PS agree with floating the bed on center, simply to make the bed easier. It'll look better too - the bed is the star of the room, and that's the point for a guest room. Great suggestion in the comments to paint that nightstand dresser, too.
From just looking, that little dresser would make a nice nightstand, center the bed! The night stand would be great on the window corner, leave the chair where it is, just dress it up. Long sofa table on the opposite wall could hold a TV, etc. good luck.
You popped up on my feed and I LOVED it!!!! I love how you do your videos - funny and I'm learning! .......and the fact that you have a cat shirt on?? 'SUBSCRIBED'!! (PS when you panned the rest of your house it's GORGEOUS!!!! You did a great job!)
I think you should center the bed and put the table on one side and the tree on the other, plus it makes it easier to make the bed. I think a little larger rug would look better, like a 5x7 and you could also paint the little dresser black.
I love the idea of you giving different budget and time options for projects. This is definitely a beginner friendly project. Excited to see what you're going to do with the room in the next video!
The grey blanket on chair ties into the grey pillows on the bed. Also, crumbled newspaper can fill up planter space and support moss on top. Looks like you have enough moss to have inch moss layer on top.
I very much enjoyed this video. I LOVE your color choices and design choices, the room looks beautiful! Actually grey and beige combine beautifully and you can find many high end designers using that calming combination (such as candice olson ). The only thing I would add is a mattress water resistant protective cover before you put on the bedsheets. I did not do that in my guest bedroom. A friend asked me if her son could stay over for one night. I did not know he would completely wet the bed and I had to throw the whole mattress away. Since then I always use a protective cover and the mattresses last for years without any stains. Great job on this room!
Beautiful job!! To redecorate a bedroom on a $400 budget is awesome! You can have a beautiful, comfy, and cozy home without having to break the bank if you shop around at stores like TJMax, Marshals, Walmart, etc., and often look more inviting than the designs in magazines. Great job!!!
Moving into my first house soon, so your videos have given me so much inspiration and shown me that I don't need to spend a ridiculous amount of money to get things how I want them.
Good luck! Big tip I can give you; being inspired by pretty images on the web and in magazines is great, but more important is what YOU need from a space. How do you move through it, what storage needs do you have, how much time do you want to spend cleaning etc. This will help you determine layouts, materials and furniture styles. Another tip; color does a lot for the vibe in a space. It is a lot cheaper to change pillowcases and wall decor than painting an entire wall if you aren't sure yet what you like. As it is your first time you'll figure it out once you live in the space. You can always add paint to walls and furniture later, it doesn't have to be perfect right away.
Me encantó!
I have just recently started to watch your channel, yesterday I watch the deck refurbish you did with your Dad, I love the dynamic you two have when working together. Also your partner seems to fit nicely into that dynamic. It makes me think back to working with my Dad.
I would center the bed, move the tree to the corner by the window up towards the headboard. Then slide the little chest over. Love the look of the bedding.
Nice. Placing beds across from the door is called the coffin position. Better sleep and relaxation are obtained by repositioning the bed. Adding a pop of color...any primary color. One pillow on bed and chair.
Whenever I try to do a quick limited upgrade, I always try to improve with the end goal in mind. I was thrown by the grey walls, the first thing I would have wanted to change. The moment I saw the green cushion cover, my thoughts went that way. But it's spring here. I would have chosen the darker rug because that would have thrown emphasis to the bed. Along with others, I would have moved the bed out from the wall, because that's how you make a bed easily. Despite all that, I think it turned out great, cosy for winter. It has helped me with my own plans to redo 2 spare rooms. Although I probably will paint walls first. (If you saw them, you'd know why.)
I love watching the process of how to make a room feel new with a small budget. It’s realistic, not always will you get to buy all new things. Love your content!
You have to move the bed and tuck the sheets. You can also paint the furniture with chalk paint. Blue or gray would be beautiful and its sooooo easy and inexpensive to do!
if you want to update the dresser, try keeping the drawers the same since they look to be in good enough condition and paint the rest black. it will look nice with the contrast of wood and black with those brass knobs.
My bedroom would of been where I would put my energy because that is where you sleep, etc. I like your enthusiasm but less is always more. I keep my room looking crisp and clean. Clutter free.
I’d love painting the dresser black to go with the bed frame also using a stool on the other side of the bed with a coaster would be sweet touch Thanks for inspiring me ❤
The bedding is really nice. May I suggest that you move the dresser and bed over. The bed would be centered more under the pictures and the lamp would be closer to the outlet. The bed would look really nice off the wall. You can a small round table from five below to put on the other side with a nice fake plant on it. Trust me it will take the room to another level. Oh I love both rugs.
I loved seeing your cat, especially when he told you that you ruined it😁 I agree, centering the bed but if you have the space, try putting the dresser on the left side of the bed and put the chair back in the corner just in case you get a TV someday people can sit and watch in the chair. If you don’t want to refinish the dresser, there’s a great product from Howard’s called restored finish and it makes furniture look 100 times better. I also really don’t like the gray and white blanket up near the pillows, it just sticks out with too much contrast. Even if you don’t take the suggestions, I don’t even think you would be that much happier investing, more money because it looks really good. It is the guestroom after all, and I think the money would be better spent doing your bedroom exactly the way you want. Thx for the great video.
Thank you for sharing. My suggestion would be, keep what you have in there. I would paint behind the bed only. Maybe a light gray. Center the bed. Hang curtains and spray paint that stand. Call it a day. To really make it, hang a tv on the wall.
The colours are awesome and I love how you dressed the room to look like a comfortable bedroom, but I would also have centred the bed and put nightstands on either side. 💐
I think the room turned out nice, but here is what I personally would have done different as far as furniture placement. I would center the bed under the cute pictures you put up. Then I would put the dresser/nightstand on the left of the bed. Oh, and I did like the other rug better. I love the tree and the basket you got for it looks amazing! Everyone has different styles, so I was just saying what I would do. Overall, the room makeover was great. You did a great job with picking the throw pillow covers. Very nice 😊 New subscriber here!!!
I saw your little guy 6 times. The room is definitely better than it was. Will be fun to see the next step. Oh and I'm a stickler for TIGHT sheets. I wanted to come through and help you make the bed, lol.
I agree with moving the bed on the center of the wall ... move the dresser to the right and move the tree on the left side of the bed...having the bed in the center will make it a lot easier to make the bed...open the gray checkered throw blanket and place it at an angle over the right corner and layer the other one on top...It does look a lot better than before....you just need to tweak it a bit more ... Good job.
I agree with the comments about moving the bed over and a floating shelf and the plant on one side and the night stand on the other side. It will make the room more balanced and look larger and so much easier to make the bed. The gray and cream bedding look good in the room with the current wall color. I’m much more concerned with the flooring than the walls. Linoleum wood planks would be fantastic. Do you have any left over from the living, dining, kitchen, laundry room makeover? The brown carpet is just really awful and having a small carpet instead of a large area rug just brings your eye right to it. If you don’t want to lay new floors then you need a large area rug with grays, creams and an accent color to cover the floor and brown carpet. Suggestion- refinish the night stand to match the headboard, paint it black, grey or refinish it and stain with a grayish stain. Also I know you just got new knobs for the nightstand, but black hardware to match the headboard would really make things cohesive. Suggestion- make a mood board using the new pillow colors, lamp, sheets, etc and price everything before you buy anything. I know you’d do a great job refinishing the nightstand! You’re getting to good with all your power tool projects!!!! I’m so proud of all the new challenges your tackling!!!!
Yes, the 2 pictures should be centered above the bed. Love your color palette. You could just spray paint the cabinet black to have the knobs pop. But you did a great job!🌟👏💪🤗
Making a bed: opposite corners first. Start with the wall/headboard corner, come back to the open/footboard corner, then go to the wall/footboard corner, and finally to the open/headboard corner. That'll get you the cleanest stretch on the bottom sheet. Upper layers go sideways. Start at wall and back up until you finish on the open side.
You already have gray and dark brown and you could add some splashes of colour, like red. I think you spent money on irrelevant things, you could go to charity shop and get some cheap additional chest of drawers/ wardrobe (also textiles), the space is big enough for more storage. Changing handles was a great idea and the room does look much better and inviting than before. The most important thing is that you're happy with it.
❤ Looking good for the budget you started with I didn't think it was going to work🎉🎉🎉 and I like to renew addressed all the issues that you would have liked to have done but because of the budget you didn't so good job 💫💫💫 stay encouraged and encouraging be good to yourself peace and blessings 🙏💜🕯️
I’m so happy I stumbled across your vlog!! The room looks great!! As an additional DIY, perhaps paint the little chest of drawers to match with the rest of the room. You could also center the bed and put the little chest of drawers in the other corner so it doesn’t stick out so much with the off color. Otherwise everything looks great and you just got a new subscriber. ❤
I think if you placed the bed about four to six inches towards the closet along with that cute little side dresser would reduce the stress of the bed so close to the wall. Also make making the bed much easier. Also, chair in the corner, just pull it an inch or two from the wall. Love the soft, restful color palette. At some point that cut little side dresser might look nice painted the same color that framing the headboard.
I would center the bed and put the plant on the opposite side of the bed. Also the bed clashes with the dresser. Have you thought about padding the back of the bed with fabric. Also framing the paintings would make it look more finished. You did a nice job, don't get me wrong but so much more could really be great. A larger rug halfway under the bed. I could go on and on! I like you and I like the fact that you are trying with so little budget! Don't be afraid of thrift store purchases to save!
Move the bed closer to the middle of the wall. I think it will look better and be easier to change the sheets. For a guest bedroom, which I call a luxury, I would just paint the small dresser black to match the bed frame and it would look nice. Just my opinion. You don't have to spend a lot of money to have a nice home, unless you have it to spend. I have many thrifted items and the color can be changed to fit what is already there. I don't care for grey myself and maybe a couple of different accents colors would make it come alive. This room tuned out comfortable and nice pretty.
5 times for the little square! I enjoy all your videos and I especially liked that huge deck you helped your dad rebuild. You all did a great job. Just rebuilt mine too, but the Sunshine State rains so much I haven't been able to stain it yet and hope it doesn't get ruined!
I love shopping estate sales. I find unique and beautiful items at reasonable prices. Often, you can get great deals on area rugs as well. I agree you need to center the bed. It is better for the night stand to be offset by the plant.
Great job. You did make the cream work well with the gray walls. The bed would be better moved away from the window wall. You could move the tree to the corner of the window wall and put the small nightstand down further towards the other wall so the bed could be moved. The bed may even be under the awesome prints you hung. Paint the nightstand black to go with the bed headboard. The original knobs on the nightstand would look better after you painted it black. TFS
Paint/stain the main body of the nightstand to match a tone in the wood protion of your headboard with black knobs to match the framing. Centre the bed under your wall art. Put matching runners (rugs) on both side of the bed and move the tree to the side without a night stand. (If you want to add gold) Do a lg gold plant pot for the olive tree and match the art frames and full length mirror frame in a gold spray paint. Or tie the black headboard framing in my doing black for the art frmaes and/or mirror
I love the room the way it is, simple and cozy, the only thing I would change is the furniture by the side of the bed, I think you can bring that to live changing the color maybe to black with the gold nobs, that is going to make a big difference and is going to match the bed frame
I always really like what you do but I have to tell you I think you should center the bed on the wall regardless of if you have two nightstands. Put the table on the side where the window is especially since you do want to repaint it. Put the tree o the side it resides now. Keep the rug there too unless it looks better in front of the foot of the bed. Sometimes that works and you do have that chair in the corner so it might look nice. That’s my two cents…I really dislike making a bed that is in a corner. lol. I love the colors, fabrics, and decor you chose! 🦋
Niiiiccee!!! You can recover/reupholster the chair and refinish the small dresser in the future, but just dressing both pieces up made a ton of difference. And love the mirror, that is a great touch!!

I came here to say the same thing.

Paint the nightstand to match the bed. That will really make a difference in the room.

Yes. Center the bed. Sand dresser paint sides and front matte black then stain top with antique it.❤❤
The two pictures not being centered on any furniture (bed, nightstand) is making my OCD flare up 😂
@@sirc625 I am so glad somebody else mentioned that! 😆
Pictures should be centered &eye level
😄
Yup high aniexty
Came here to see if anyone mentioned centering the art over the bed!! Oh, please…oh, PLEASE, centre the art over the bed!!
That's a cute little dresser! I'd love to see you refinish it. Also, a tip for the drawers to make them easier to open/close. Pull the drawer out and wherever it has wood on wood as it moves, rub a bar of soap or an old candle. The waxy material really makes it smooth out. 😁
I’ve done this trick with beeswax from my sewing box and it really does make a difference 😃
My mom taught me that years ago and I am 65 years old
I like the gray throw on the bed better than the Ivory one. The gray one makes the bed pop more. Just my opinion. You did a great job on a budget.
I agree, bed would look great in the middle with your nightstand next to it and the tree on the other side. You can spray paint the knobs black and if you want you can spray paint the night stand.
You did a fabulous job. The room is nice and cozy and lucky the people who will stay in this beautiful room.
Floating shelves that display the various game consoles. Make them a focal point and a conversation starter.
I agree with the comments about centering the bed, this would also make cleaning the window easier.
I really like the colours and the lighter rug as well. I would put the bed under the two pictures and the dresser in the corner. Maybe later if the budget allows ; a curtain rod and longer curtains to cozy it up. Gives me ideas for my space.Thankx!
I enjoyed your thought process. Not a fan of the gray walls. But when completed, looked cozy, comforting and welcoming. Great job.
I think you should center the bed, put the bed side table on the other side, leave the tree.
I don't really comment but the editing and pacing of your video is fantastic. It feels like an HGTV episode, well done!
Thank you, Tiff. You accomplished a lot in a day. The room is more attractive, cozier, and restful. I just subscribed because your channel is a lot of fun and you make your projects doable, affordable, and realistic. I look forward to your next project.
Thank you!
Blush colored Linens would play very well with the gray walls it will also tie in your little rug
i seen him 6 times tiff . we love your show here in the uk
6 is correct :)
I think you are a very talented individual and did an awesome job tackling something outside of your comfort zone. Good for you.
From just looking, that little dresser would make a nice nightstand, center the bed! The night stand would be great on the window corner, leave the chair where it is, just dress it up. Long sofa table on the opposite wall could hold a TV, etc. good luck.
Done in one day?! It's a Tiff Miracle! Your Dad's gonna love his new digs. Great job!
the gray blanket on bed seemed more inviting and cozy
You popped up on my feed and I LOVED it!!!! I love how you do your videos - funny and I'm learning! .......and the fact that you have a cat shirt on?? 'SUBSCRIBED'!!
(PS when you panned the rest of your house it's GORGEOUS!!!! You did a great job!)
Thank you ☺️🥰
I think you should center the bed and put the table on one side and the tree on the other, plus it makes it easier to make the bed.
Love to see how you use what you have and keep a smaller budget to create a totally new vibe in the room!
Great job!!!
it looks so gawjuss Tiff - love the calmer feel to the room :) xxx
Thank you Claire 🥰
Hello from Alberta, Canada 🇨🇦. I Love ❤️ how it turned it!! You are very talented with Interior Designing!! Keep it up!! 🤗
@@flooferdoofer Thanks for the advice!
Me encantó!
I have just recently started to watch your channel, yesterday I watch the deck refurbish you did with your Dad, I love the dynamic you two have when working together. Also your partner seems to fit nicely into that dynamic. It makes me think back to working with my Dad.
Especially liked how you fell into the warm laundry - so me!! I think the 2 rugs & blankets can be switched every now & then bc both looked nice.
Those games are valuable.
I’d love painting the dresser black to go with the bed frame also using a stool on the other side of the bed with a coaster would be sweet touch
Thanks for inspiring me ❤
I love what you’ve done! And very interactive comments give us a space to be involved. So I’m subscribing! Great job!
I loved seeing your cat, especially when he told you that you ruined it😁
I agree, centering the bed but if you have the space, try putting the dresser on the left side of the bed and put the chair back in the corner just in case you get a TV someday people can sit and watch in the chair.
The room looks beautiful! Loved shopping with you and Toni; you guys are hilarious!
Thanks so much!!
I bet your dad will love it when he comes to visit! 👍😉
it’s looks pretty good! I would suggest added some floor to ceiling curtains to soften up the space!!
I saw your little guy 6 times. The room is definitely better than it was. Will be fun to see the next step. Oh and I'm a stickler for TIGHT sheets. I wanted to come through and help you make the bed, lol.
6 times is correct!
Great updates to a cozy guest room. Great job to start. Looking forward to what you add to reach $1000 budget.ove the music and sound effects !!
Love the music and sound effects. :)
Yes, the 2 pictures should be centered above the bed. Love your color palette. You could just spray paint the cabinet black to have the knobs pop.
But you did a great job!🌟👏💪🤗
The grey throw would look great on the chair. Hang mirror in case you get a table or chest of drawers in the near future.
YES! Candy in the shopping cart scene! Woooo!
You crushed it girl! It's lovely.
Thank you! ☺️
I think it looks very cozy and warm!
Omg you should make a gaming room with all those consoles!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
One day hopefully... It would be a dream :)
You did a great job with this room. Thanks for sharing with us!
Excellent! A few simple changes made a big difference 😊
Pull the chair out a bit from the corner and drape the 2nd throw blanket over it. That dresser definitely needs a paint job!😍🇨🇦
The bed needs to be centred.
Toni is awesome. I love when ahe just pops in and out of you videos 😂
Love it! I would eventually give the dresser another finish, maybe the fake Poterry Barn look. Looking forward to more videos. 😊
I would move the rug at an angle under the bottom corner of the bed…. Great job!!!
5 times for the little square! I enjoy all your videos and I especially liked that huge deck you helped your dad rebuild. You all did a great job. Just rebuilt mine too, but the Sunshine State rains so much I haven't been able to stain it yet and hope it doesn't get ruined!
What a fun video! Great job redecorating so quickly and inexpensively. ❤
I LOVE how it came out! Everything really came together nicely., 😍
I love shopping estate sales. I find unique and beautiful items at reasonable prices. Often, you can get great deals on area rugs as well. I agree you need to center the bed. It is better for the night stand to be offset by the plant.
It looks great, the one thing I would add is a side table or something to put a suitcase on.
TFS
I’ve been playing junes journey for a while now 😊
The first one looks great color wise.
You could paint the nightstand using colours from the rest of the room, maybe some "light red", maybe some design or texture to carry it?
Soooo cute!! Loved the whole video!!
