I challenged myself to fully transform my guest bedroom in one day with only $400. There's not demo or remodel so this is a perfect makeover for renters. This was very challenging due to the small budget but I'm very happy with how it turned out :)

Looks cozy, unsolicited comment… the bed centered on the wall would have looked cuter, with the tree on the left side. If you are set on having 2 nightstands, maybe make a simple floating shelf one with your leftover wood, you can even add plugs to it so it’ll be a charging station for your guests. I love the light bedding!
Agreed! Perhaps it would make for another great project for Tiff for next time :)
Benefits of centering the bed.
- Making the bed becomes a lot easier.
- When there a 2 sharing the bed, the one on the window side won't be disturbing their partner.
- Having the plant on the window side will balance the back wall.
- How to make it look as if there is more moss around the plant.
- Crumble up the brown paper packing material.
- Place it in the planter around the plant.
- Add the moss.
I’m an interior designer. Center the bed.
I came here to say the same thing.
I agree with the comment about centering the bed on the wall. You definitely have enough room on the right side of the bed to move that bureau over. Plus when you're making the bed you can walk around the bed. You don't need to have a ton of room but you need to be able to walk around it. Also the comment about putting a floating corner shelf that would work as well.
And pull the chair away from the corner a bit.
Time to make a game console wall ❤
The room looks a lot more put together and really cozy.
I do agree with all the comments to center the bed in the middle of the wall. Slide the little dresser over a bit and put the tree on the other side of the bed. I don’t know how other people feel about it, but I like being able to walk around my bed. Especially when making it. It makes it so much easier putting on the bedding. You could also make a floating shelf for a night stand wide enough for another small lamp and place a nice basket under the shelf. Something similar that matches the one you have next to the mirror. Over all, I think you did a great job Tiff 😃👏🏼👍🏼
Paint the nightstand to match the bed. That will really make a difference in the room.
Looks so much better. If you really want to pull the room together, paint the side table black, paint the feet on the chair black and get a taller lamp (the current one is not the right scale for the space) with a black shade.
Floating shelves that display the various game consoles. Make them a focal point and a conversation starter.
I really like the colours and the lighter rug as well. I would put the bed under the two pictures and the dresser in the corner. Maybe later if the budget allows ; a curtain rod and longer curtains to cozy it up. Gives me ideas for my space.Thankx!
That's a cute little dresser! I'd love to see you refinish it. Also, a tip for the drawers to make them easier to open/close. Pull the drawer out and wherever it has wood on wood as it moves, rub a bar of soap or an old candle. The waxy material really makes it smooth out. 😁
I’ve done this trick with beeswax from my sewing box and it really does make a difference 😃
i seen him 6 times tiff . we love your show here in the uk
6 is correct :)
Thank you for sharing a REAL HONEST makeover for the average person.
ALSO. . GUYS.. I wanted to remind you that you can take that little chest.. clean it real well and use some gel stain to redo it!! A nice walnut would cover imperfections and aligned with your headboard. Easy peasy. Gel stain it on top so you don't have to do all that sanding❤❤❤❤
From just looking, that little dresser would make a nice nightstand, center the bed! The night stand would be great on the window corner, leave the chair where it is, just dress it up. Long sofa table on the opposite wall could hold a TV, etc. good luck.
I agree with moving the bed to the center of the wall. Getting a set of nightstands would look great, but even just putting that faux plant in the opposite corner would be better. I also think folding the sheet back with the comforter would help break up the cream bedspread. The throw right in front of the pillows takes away from them, so I would put that one on the chair or in the basket with the other throw. Love that little lamp!-but I think it’s too small for that nightstand and makes things look disproportionate. I would keep it and put it somewhere else-like on a shelf or counter. A lamp at least twice that size…or a sconce would look better. I also agree with you that the rug is too small, although I really like the styles you picked. Amazon is having a prime day in a couple days. This is a great start, and I’m looking forward to seeing your next episode!!
I have just recently started to watch your channel, yesterday I watch the deck refurbish you did with your Dad, I love the dynamic you two have when working together. Also your partner seems to fit nicely into that dynamic. It makes me think back to working with my Dad.
Yes. Center the bed. Sand dresser paint sides and front matte black then stain top with antique it.❤❤
I love watching the process of how to make a room feel new with a small budget. It’s realistic, not always will you get to buy all new things. Love your content!
Those games are valuable.
I love the idea of you giving different budget and time options for projects. This is definitely a beginner friendly project. Excited to see what you're going to do with the room in the next video!
Center the bed or at least away from the wall. You don’t need to have 2 bedside tables and use the plant instead. Move the chair way from the corner a bit. Don’t tuck it in. Keep things off walls when posible.
Moving into my first house soon, so your videos have given me so much inspiration and shown me that I don't need to spend a ridiculous amount of money to get things how I want them.
Good luck! Big tip I can give you; being inspired by pretty images on the web and in magazines is great, but more important is what YOU need from a space. How do you move through it, what storage needs do you have, how much time do you want to spend cleaning etc. This will help you determine layouts, materials and furniture styles.
Another tip; color does a lot for the vibe in a space. It is a lot cheaper to change pillowcases and wall decor than painting an entire wall if you aren't sure yet what you like. As it is your first time you'll figure it out once you live in the space. You can always add paint to walls and furniture later, it doesn't have to be perfect right away.
@@flooferdoofer Thanks for the advice!
Nintendo Zelda has a special place in my heart too. I loved the original in the 90s when my kids were little, and my youngest daughter and her partner bonded over a more modern version . . . and named my granddaughter (partially) in honor of the game's role in their romance.
Love your projects!
PS agree with floating the bed on center, simply to make the bed easier. It'll look better too - the bed is the star of the room, and that's the point for a guest room.
Great suggestion in the comments to paint that nightstand dresser, too.
The grey blanket on chair ties into the grey pillows on the bed. Also, crumbled newspaper can fill up planter space and support moss on top. Looks like you have enough moss to have inch moss layer on top.
I think the bed centered would work better with the plant on the left in the corner. If you could refinish the night stand with a gray or beige would blend your colors. Add a small plant to the nightstand. I love all your colors and pictures. Great job.
Zelda….😂… how many hours of joy ❤❤❤
I know right!
Agree with the comment about centering the bed and putting the tree on the left in place of the missing nightstand!
I would move the rug at an angle under the bottom corner of the bed…. Great job!!!
YES! Candy in the shopping cart scene! Woooo!
Blush colored Linens would play very well with the gray walls it will also tie in your little rug
You crushed it girl! It's lovely.
Thank you! ☺️
❤ Looking good for the budget you started with I didn't think it was going to work🎉🎉🎉 and I like to renew addressed all the issues that you would have liked to have done but because of the budget you didn't so good job 💫💫💫 stay encouraged and encouraging be good to yourself peace and blessings 🙏💜🕯️
5 times for the little square! I enjoy all your videos and I especially liked that huge deck you helped your dad rebuild. You all did a great job. Just rebuilt mine too, but the Sunshine State rains so much I haven't been able to stain it yet and hope it doesn't get ruined!
The two pictures not being centered on any furniture (bed, nightstand) is making my OCD flare up 😂
Omg you should make a gaming room with all those consoles!!!! 😍😍😍😍😍
I LOVE how it came out! Everything really came together nicely., 😍
Niiiiccee!!! You can recover/reupholster the chair and refinish the small dresser in the future, but just dressing both pieces up made a ton of difference. And love the mirror, that is a great touch!!
The room looks good, improvement from what it was. I like all the bedding choices you made, colors, texture, etc. I think all the grays and creams work together as neutrals for a comfortable guest room.
The only think I would do different - I would hang the 2 prints above the bed / headboard instead of centered on the wall.
I love what you did with the dresser ❤ And the finishing touches-- very nice 😊
Great job, Tiff! Hope you all had no impact from the hurricane. ❤
I saw your little guy 6 times. The room is definitely better than it was. Will be fun to see the next step. Oh and I'm a stickler for TIGHT sheets. I wanted to come through and help you make the bed, lol.
I love the room the way it is, simple and cozy, the only thing I would change is the furniture by the side of the bed, I think you can bring that to live changing the color maybe to black with the gold nobs, that is going to make a big difference and is going to match the bed frame
I love shopping estate sales. I find unique and beautiful items at reasonable prices. Often, you can get great deals on area rugs as well. I agree you need to center the bed. It is better for the night stand to be offset by the plant.
Aww JoyJoy ❤. Room design turned out nice! I definitely need to redo my guest room.
What a fun video! Great job redecorating so quickly and inexpensively. ❤
Nice and cozy! Would step it up a notch by putting the bed in the centre of the wall! ❤😊
Five times!!
And I love your videos and how you make us laugh along the way!
First of all I love watching your videos.. let me just suggest get the bed in the middle of the room the dark blanket is nice pay attention to your little pillow they match love the pictures and the plants... Other than that I think they came out real nice. Oh yeah the carpet just a little bit bigger. You guys have a good weekend
I always really like what you do but I have to tell you I think you should center the bed on the wall regardless of if you have two nightstands. Put the table on the side where the window is especially since you do want to repaint it. Put the tree o the side it resides now. Keep the rug there too unless it looks better in front of the foot of the bed. Sometimes that works and you do have that chair in the corner so it might look nice. That’s my two cents…I really dislike making a bed that is in a corner. lol. I love the colors, fabrics, and decor you chose! 🦋
Great updates to a cozy guest room. Great job to start. Looking forward to what you add to reach $1000 budget.ove the music and sound effects !!
Love the music and sound effects. :)
You could paint the nightstand using colours from the rest of the room, maybe some "light red", maybe some design or texture to carry it?
I really like it. You did an awesome job. It looks so cute.
Looks lovely. Comfy and cozy. ❤
I think you did very well with what you had and what you chose to compliment that :-D Painting the night stand would definitely be an improvement.
Just to say, I think the Bedsure products from Amazon are really great buys.
Think of your guest room as a hotel room. Nice bedding that match, clock. Towels in the drawers instead.
I love cream and gray together! I have a lot of gray in my house, but it's a sort of warm tone, so when I order gray items, it's a gamble as to whether it's warm or cool. 🤷
Ooh paint the lamp base sage green!
Chefs kiss. Perfect 🤌
For a cream color with texture, check out medium weight canvas drop cloth. Cheep even.
I think you should put the pictures above the headboard, the candle of top of the books to give it height but it sure looks way better
Tiff I think you could make an awesome Murphys bed it would be a major makeover
Me too. Center the bed for a more finished look.
Try looking at theft stores for side tables and bedroom stuff and you should center the bed put the table on one side and the tree on the other side, but the room turned out great
Wow you are giving me a lot of inspiration. Thanks
You two are so cute. Nice job editing.
Nice ,I would've put the pictures over the bed.
Your bedroom is charm like you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good evening
Love the room ❤
I have that little dresser! Mine needs to be sanded and painted badly 😂I got it on the side of the road and someone had put contact paper (red and white checkered) on the top. I took that off and have a pillow sham on top of both my bedroom furniture pieces😂 I like the dresser cuz I can move it by myself.
Ha! You just found out why I can't have the bed against the wall. I'm pretty short and can never get the wall side tucked in properly when making the bed. 🤪

It looks much better, but I would put the bed in the centre of the wall. 😊
i spy Nintendo 64 games.. even donkey kong 64 hehehe... been watching the channel recently and i enjoy them! keep up the great work!
i also commented on this before you showed off the games... Wii, yes... gamecube.. yes yes.... nintendo 6444444444444444 great selection of games!
I agree with the comments about moving the bed over and a floating shelf and the plant on one side and the night stand on the other side. It will make the room more balanced and look larger and so much easier to make the bed. The gray and cream bedding look good in the room with the current wall color. I’m much more concerned with the flooring than the walls. Linoleum wood planks would be fantastic. Do you have any left over from the living, dining, kitchen, laundry room makeover? The brown carpet is just really awful and having a small carpet instead of a large area rug just brings your eye right to it. If you don’t want to lay new floors then you need a large area rug with grays, creams and an accent color to cover the floor and brown carpet.
Suggestion- refinish the night stand to match the headboard, paint it black, grey or refinish it and stain with a grayish stain. Also I know you just got new knobs for the nightstand, but black hardware to match the headboard would really make things cohesive.
Suggestion- make a mood board using the new pillow colors, lamp, sheets, etc and price everything before you buy anything.
I know you’d do a great job refinishing the nightstand! You’re getting to good with all your power tool projects!!!!
I’m so proud of all the new challenges your tackling!!!!
I want to collapse on the bed like you, but I’m afraid I wouldn’t be able to get back up. 😂
It does look lovely though. 🦋
I wanna see a Toni Christmas decorating special. I wonder what she would present... and break.
I totally love your videos ❤️
My wife and i was at Walmart last night, and they already have Christmas stuff out
A small round table is what is needed for the other side of the bed. The arrangement now makes the room look like it is tilted.
I agree with other comments. I’d pull the bed away from the far wall and center the headboard.
The number one suggestion I predict you’ll get is to center the bed. It’s just off against the wall. Otherwise, you’re always charming to watch.
Oh my, mirror in the corner, oh so many options. Your house, I'll stop 😅
Center the bed, put pictures over bed, pull chair out from wall, greenery on night table.
My wife loves the pumpkin pie M'Ms as well, I'm not a pumpkin person, i like the smell of pumpkin, i just don't eat pumpkin food
They gamers fr‼️
6 love watching you guys
Nana from az
Thanks! 6 is correct 😁
The rug needs to be bigger and the bed needs to be centered in the room. Love your channel ,I like how you commentate when you’re working on projects. Your room is beautiful, you do you.
I loved it great job 😘👍🏻💕💕
Paint the side table black and the legs of the chair black so that the look comes together
part 2 joy joy, reminds me of Jossette, I cannot make my bed if Jossette is in her box. Jossette for some reason wont adopt to kitty beds she loves boxes, so there is one I leave as a bed for her on my bed, and if she's in it , the bed cannot be made. it's only when she gets up I have 5 minute exactly 5 minutes to make up the bed before she returns to that cardboard bed of hers. To answer your question about a room getting messy while working on it.....yes mine does each time I give it a makeover, and everytime I work on a project. I live in a studio so if I'm working on a costume of something patterns, fabric, sewing thread you name it, it's everywhere. and bed making.....Ive learned one thing about that and that's not to worry about the art of bed making because one person does their own way and another will do it differently. and trust me. I've seen arguments on the subject and it isn't pretty so Ive learned that everyone has their own method. Mine I try to make it as presentable as possible. However I will confess the mystery of the bed skirts is a nightmare, Im still trying to figure them out lol! ( CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER RANT TIME!) no!!!!! NO!!!!! just..... NOOOOOO!!!!!! However the trip to Lowes helped my insanity, because seriously where was Mary Shelly when you need her! she needs to tell santa it's Frankenstien month not snow and jingle bells However....I'm with Toni on the unicorn purchase idea. Unicorns work... they are all year round, a unicorn would be a great purchase. In conclusion I'm now going on the hunt for pumpkin pie flavors M&M candy.. Also love the guest room, I look forward to the next video and how much more you can change and transform it.
Hello from Belgium, I saw it 6 time 😊❤
Hello 👋 and yes! 6 is correct 😁
looks good
First yay❤🎉love your videos
great job!
Everything is nice, but doesnt seem to fly together. Maybe try shifting the bed so it isn't pushed up against a side wall. Move the little dresser along the side wall to sit beside the full-length mirror, providing space for guest 'stuff' to land. Source 2 cheap used side tables for the bedside tables. I like both rugs but find them too washed out for this room decor. A darker rug to go with your dark pillows and throw blanket, or a bold design similar to your wall art.. Possibly too many colours? pinks, blueish grays, biege, browns, orange, creams, green..my favorite is the orange candle with the gray accents. Sorry, I'm bored and you did ask but I have never disliked any of your final design choices, so as a work in progress, it's getting there.
If I can make a suggestion; your wall art should go over the bed or one over the bed and the other over the night table. It should not be centred on the wall. Test it out, see if it makes a difference.
6 ❤
Yes! 😁
I count 6 times! 😄
Yes!! That is correct! 😁
I’m surprised you didn’t spend your money on a new floor. The redwood dresser would look better painted black. Why don’t you make a planter box for the tree? Love your videos.
Loved the video 😘👍🏻💕💕
Looks great but take the bed off the wall. The rug is too small though. Put the tree on the other side of the bed since you only have one night stand
