(I am so sorry, this is a really long ass comment-) I'm partially convinced that Rye made all these theory names up himself, but that's just cause I'm an og-but-kinda-casual fan, so I'm not entirely used to theorists breaking events up into potential timelines and then naming those timelines to differentiate them, just yet. I've honestly just been keeping track of the lore like a tv series. Like, Fnaf seasons 1 through 4, with the Fnaf: Sister Location series next, and then Pizza Sim was a two part episode/mini movie. The books were another spin-off series, and Fnaf world was a 'kids' tv show with only one season. Then the fnaf security breach reboot show had several seasons cause help wanted kinda fits all snuggly next to SB. And then The mimic is another spin-off reboot with an entirely new cast of characters. Honestly it flows alot like the MLP generations did now that i think about it-

It's interesting that the main reason they can't leave, as shown in the book, is because of limited battery charge. Maybe fusing together into one animatronic isn't just to fit inside Mike, it's also to consolidate battery power from everyone while also limiting how much power is used. Another reason might be because the souls are all mixed up, because of Afton's crappy remnant transfer, and so merging into one is the only way to bring all the pieces of the souls back together so they can actually be sorted. Maybe that's why they ejected Baby. Either she only has remnant from Elizabeth so they don't care, or they had finished sorting all the pieces of the other's remnant that was attached to her, and they only needed her until they got them. Just some thoughts I had. I'm sure this reads as rambling nonsense.😅
More likley they just didnt relize till that that Elizabeth wasnt part of there original group. IF they are somwat aware they probably asumed shes just Cassidy. But William never got Cassidy so she isnt in the sister location at all and they relize once they escape "Hey wait who are you?!"

Something to think about: the phantom animatronics are supposedly burned, but the burning could be agony. They could be agony based hallucinations from all the agony definitely left inside all the relics inside fnaf 3's fazbear frights. Which would be pretty good reason for you to hallucinate animatronics from multiple locations. There's relics from multiple locations. Toy animatronic parts in the office, fnaf 1 suit parts all over, it's a lot of agony from throughout the history of the franchise up to that point in the timeline. That's why we see a mix of withereds, toys, and fnaf 1 all "burned". It's agony hallucinations. You're in a building full of agony infused objects, so looking at the books, that agony could be why we're attacked by hallucinations that can't hurt us. They aren't physically there, but have enough influence that the agony within affects the system panel next to us, making it malfunction. It affects the tech and makes us hallucinate. That could be one explanation for the phantoms
I really want the toy animatronics to be Molten Freddy. Not only did Fnaf 3 end the original five's story beautifully, but the toys aren't just forgotten and get a nice ending too in fnaf 6. Also, there are five dead kids/spirits in fnaf 2's save them minigame. I think that would have an affect on the toys acting weird as well.
It's a good question. My gut instinct is that they're like shades (in the Greek sense) of the dead children. The positive emotions are trapped in the metal, and the agony is doing its thing. But there's more to a human soul than just feeling. These shades are listless and tired, just going through the motions unless commanded by someone with control over them. In the movie and books, this is Afton, but in Follow Me, this appears to be The One You Should Not Have Killed.
We're told by Ralph in FNaF1 that even without the Endos that you'd die from the suits due to the abundance of mechanical components built directly into them separate from the endos that'd make it impossible to fit a person safely. There's likely traces of mechanisms and metal from the suits themselves that William missed while removing the endos.
I keep meaning to comment my own theory (ish). Do we know for a fact that Remnant needs to be from dead people? Could just being around children in highly emotional state induce a form of remnant? I always felt like that explains the "extensions" like minireenas , biddy bob and even the shadow animatronics (or agony). In sister location, they say the animatronics get scooped and the remnant replaced anytime they misbehave so somehow they keep getting more.
I love the theory, but would it get disproven by happiest day? All the dead kids' souls were freed then. We know that the puppet falls slower because it stays around for Fnaf 6, not the others.
Good theory and love the classroom gags, but I'm still of the opinion that unless the seemless retcon was related to Molten MCI, which i find unlikely as i don't find it a seemless change to the story, Molton MCI can't be possible. Plus Remnant is soul energy and implied to be an extension of the soul so the memories/behaviors could still carry over to different objects without part of a soul.
Rye, it's good writing that whenever you ask "do we know an example of ____?" It's always something you mentioned earlier in the video. I'm not so deep in theory world that I could confidently explain every theory and the evidence that supports it, but I never feel lost with your explanations. Although in this one when you asked "do we know of animatronics that really wanted out?" I would know that one immediately.

Puppet On Strings: A story about being in the perspective of Charlotte Emily/Puppet trying during her time in the story. 5. Ultimate Nightmare: A story about Williams perspective during his Ultimate Custom Night nightmare. 6. Crumbling Dreams: A story about Mrs Afton and what happened to her in the story. 7. Paragraph 4: A story about Henry Emily and here’s he’s been between fnaf 2 - fnaf 6.

I finally finished The Week Before,I can finally watch these theories again! Yippee! I also feel like “It’s Me” being associated with souls in general and appearing in fnaf VR,in the same place you get the Vanny mask,bolsters the theory that Glitchtrap is a human soul (in my opinion,CC,I mean he literally has tears on both his Princess Quest and regular designs. Then there’s the Fallfest of ‘83 in the Dreadbear DLC and Dreadbear being a version of Fredbear,who’s also associated with brains in that one mini game. It’s also likely Steelwool -who weren’t told the story- thought “It’s me” was associated with CC. VIP -likely a version of Glitchtrap- is also described as sounding like a young boy with a stuffy nose so there’s that. Furthermore,The Week Before shows that CC is willing to kill despite him almost certainly not being a confused/lost spirit because he died in hospital and would have seen his body). Mix that with Tape Girl saying “He’s looking,not like Chica or Bonnie would but REALLY looking” when the Mimic’s whole gimmick is that it’s just a robot and the fact Glitchtrap can’t be deleted,when Mimic would 100% be able to be deleted because it’s just code and I feel like Glitchtrap just is not mimic
I believe the animatronics intents can be even further understood in one of the Fazbear Frights books “Coming Home” as Susie leaves Chica (in the daytime) to reunite with her family who can’t see her, to find something that would allow her spirit to finally rest. (Gretchen)
5:00 This may or may not be somewhat unrelated to the topic at hand, but despite what Talbert says in the epilogues, I don’t think Remnant *has to* be combined with metal specifically in order to be called that (though metal seems to be the best conductor/medium for souls to attach to) In that same quote, Talbert continues by describing it as ”a mix of the tangible and the intangible”. This makes me think that Remnant is simply a ”spiritual” energy that is kept in the physical realm by being attached to any kind of matter. Furthermore, the name ”Remnant” in itself makes me think that it is any part of a person’s essence that *remains* in the physical world even after their death. And, knowing the mechanics of the FNaF universe, this would include souls, memories and emotions - even agony. This then would mean that agony is just a specific type of Remnant if that makes sense. There’s a great YT video on the matter by a user who goes by the name ”puppy”, which covers not only the mechanics of this, but also the thematic implications it has. Also, the quote ”The spirit follows the flesh it seems, and also the*pain*” (said by Afton in TFC) seems to be implying that souls are somehow teathered to their agony, which would therefore suggest that, were the children’s agony to be in the Tangle/Blob, their souls would still have to be there as well

I can personally assure you, that, whatever is going on out there, however tragic it may be, has nothing to do with our establishment. I wasn't sold on MoltenMCI for a while there, but between your evidence of the fnaf 2 parts from the toys, the HW furnace easter egg, and now the really clear narrative through line in the week before and sister location I'm fairly well convinced.

@Ryetoast! I know it probably doesn't make sense but I had a theory on the mimic being Elizabeth Afton because of how Circus Baby's eyes glow the same color as the mimic! I also got a better look at the mimic's design and saw a circus baby face plate! I think that Elizabeth might be trying to carry on her father's legacy!
Honestly the Toys becoming/being used to make the Funtimes would make sense given the similarities they share. The colored cheeks, Bonbon being a more distinct shade of blue similar to Toy Bonnie unlike Classic Bonnie, Funtime Foxy having similar colors to Mangles head and presumably their body before they became a take a part experience, even there casings seems to be of the same/ similar material though on the Funtimes they are plates. Like you can see where William may have taken inspiration design wise when making his new creations as he was melting down the Toys into Remnant if he didn't just retrofit om of the Toys parts into the Funtimes. Also I wonder if the remenant in the Toys is from parts of the MCI remnant and with the Withered becoming the Classic before William came back to get the rest of them for more remnant did the Classics like sense peices of them were out there (the remant now in the Funtimes) and that was also why they wanted to leave the Pizzaria, to make themselves whole again.

I think the remnant that got injected into Mike that makes him, idk, live is also what is causing him to go to all these locations, or at least the FNaF 6 location. As we see the various animatronics are lured to the restaurant and so is Mike.

Random girl here, but I just wanted to say that I recently started coming back to all my favorite middle school interests like drawing and gaming and ofc FNAF, and it’s been really refreshing getting back to all the fun things I had to drop just to fit in and survive. The biggest mystery with molten MCI is that we still have no idea what or who Ballora is meant to be. Funtime Freddy and Foxy make sense to have the missing children's remnant and baby having elizabeth's remnant but what the hell is Ballora? Yes agree! I think with the movie being used as well, I believe William had Freddy’s connected to Entertainment and Rentals to study the FNAF 1 animatronics since he was using them to give Funtimes more remnant as their battery. I believe that the animatronics developed intelligence because the Puppet was locked away in a music box by William Afton, so the animatronics want to gain more electricity power to run Scott free and find a way to free the Puppet from William’s control. And with the Funtimes, they’re finally free. But without a leader like Charlie, Cassidy, or Elizabeth, they’re just lost and confused and they’re slowly melting into Molten Freddy. All I can say is that The Week Before is THE holy bible of FNAF.
I have a feeling William thinks he has Remnant but doesn’t realize he actually has Agony. Not until AFTER he becomes SpringTrap does he understand the difference and decides he prefers the Agony. He wants fear and suffering and everything he does is to get more of it. Even in his moments of weakness it leaves space for revenge from his victims and others, revenge that is born from a fear of losing something precious.

Huh, that does make sense. I always took Phone Dude's lines about the secret rooms having been boarded up and needing a tip from an old building designer to know they were there to mean that they were still boarded up and he would never have found it without that tip to look for a sealed room. Is there evidence that it was resealed after Follow Me or was he just looking in a different location than the one where Springtrap was?
Ok so, I believe that Scott writes his story lines like Schrödinger throwing spaghetti onto a wall Everything and nothing is cannon and au and a continuity; everything is always simultaneously both/and/or an easter egg or lore; and we'll eventually maybe see what sticks to the wall I also believe he gets inspiration from theorists. There have been several times where I'm pretty sure he made something actually game timeline continuity cannon, because he saw a theory and really liked it Honestly, there was a while there I feel like he was just writing, and letting the theorists make it make sense. I have some things that bug me... I a believer in MoltenMCI and in SoulShattering. But what bugs me is...what about the DCI ? We only talk about the MCI. But the others kids dont have any importance ? What if the DCI IS THE SOULS in the Toy Animatronics. Dont need to be a soul piece of the same kids of the MSI Them we would get a actually MontenDCI. Wich i think has a better storytelling. You see in FNAF 3, Michael would have freed the kids of the MCI, but failed to do the same with his father. Them Henry would gather every animatronic that LASTED. The ones Michael could not free William Baby His Daughter And the OTHER 5 DEAD KIDS. Thar for some reason...everyone in the comunity kind forget about. Some times i caught myself thinkibg if the MSI and DCI werent the same kids, just because no one talks about it. But them the timeline dont make sense. It was in that moment i started to think of this theory. Im not the first obsviously, but i rly like MoltenDCI more. Just to make this stupidy and slop murders to have some more relevance.
My guess before watching the video Afton put the kids bodies in the Animatronics. Charlotte put the kids souls in the animatronics. Now that they have "life", they want to return to their childhood homes and continue their lives which where ended prematurely. A sad yet somber thought reminding us they might be just suits and endoskeletons but they are also victims
i wonder if their agonized desire to escape their setting stems from wanting out of the situation as a whole. they want out of the robots, they want out of undeath, they want to go back to what they had before it was stolen from them. i like to think that the souls themselves were freed for the most part, with only traces of conscious ghostliness remaining in the remnant, and the unresolved agony of the situation remaining, obviously, in the agony. this way, moltenmci is true, and the souls still find peace, leaving behind echoes that congealed into their own discordant thoughts.
hold on. unrelated to what the video is about: in the minigame where william afton is springlocked and gets trapped in the suit, what are these three things in the upper left corner? are these cryogenic life support or whatever out of which springtrap climbs out of in the ending of security breach?
My only problem with Molten MCI is that the fact you're fired for how you smell seems to indicate that Michael is already dead by the events of FNAF 1, among other indicators that seems to put Sister Location before the original. One possible thought is that maybe it does extend towards the toy animatronics, as you said, but William returned to dismantle the originals BECAUSE he lost the funtimes. This then could lead into why the spirits could both be put to rest in FNAF3 and still wrathful in FNAF 6 and UNC. You put their agony that lingers around the original location to rest in FNAF 3, but their remnant still lives on through Molten Freddy, which then leads us to the blob since we know remnant is particularly resilient.

More likley they just didnt relize till that that Elizabeth wasnt part of there original group. IF they are somwat aware they probably asumed shes just Cassidy. But William never got Cassidy so she isnt in the sister location at all and they relize once they escape "Hey wait who are you?!"

Something to think about: the phantom animatronics are supposedly burned, but the burning could be agony. They could be agony based hallucinations from all the agony definitely left inside all the relics inside fnaf 3's fazbear frights. Which would be pretty good reason for you to hallucinate animatronics from multiple locations. There's relics from multiple locations. Toy animatronic parts in the office, fnaf 1 suit parts all over, it's a lot of agony from throughout the history of the franchise up to that point in the timeline. That's why we see a mix of withereds, toys, and fnaf 1 all "burned". It's agony hallucinations. You're in a building full of agony infused objects, so looking at the books, that agony could be why we're attacked by hallucinations that can't hurt us. They aren't physically there, but have enough influence that the agony within affects the system panel next to us, making it malfunction. It affects the tech and makes us hallucinate. That could be one explanation for the phantoms

I really want the toy animatronics to be Molten Freddy. Not only did Fnaf 3 end the original five's story beautifully, but the toys aren't just forgotten and get a nice ending too in fnaf 6.
Also, there are five dead kids/spirits in fnaf 2's save them minigame. I think that would have an affect on the toys acting weird as well.

One thing I don’t get about molten MCI is how you explain the spirits that chase William in night 5
It's a good question. My gut instinct is that they're like shades (in the Greek sense) of the dead children. The positive emotions are trapped in the metal, and the agony is doing its thing. But there's more to a human soul than just feeling. These shades are listless and tired, just going through the motions unless commanded by someone with control over them. In the movie and books, this is Afton, but in Follow Me, this appears to be The One You Should Not Have Killed.
We're told by Ralph in FNaF1 that even without the Endos that you'd die from the suits due to the abundance of mechanical components built directly into them separate from the endos that'd make it impossible to fit a person safely. There's likely traces of mechanisms and metal from the suits themselves that William missed while removing the endos.
I keep meaning to comment my own theory (ish). Do we know for a fact that Remnant needs to be from dead people? Could just being around children in highly emotional state induce a form of remnant? I always felt like that explains the "extensions" like minireenas , biddy bob and even the shadow animatronics (or agony). In sister location, they say the animatronics get scooped and the remnant replaced anytime they misbehave so somehow they keep getting more.
Genuine question, how are the ghosts of the missing kids haunting William in the Fnaf 1 pizzeria when they are supposedly in the SL Bunker?
I love the theory, but would it get disproven by happiest day? All the dead kids' souls were freed then. We know that the puppet falls slower because it stays around for Fnaf 6, not the others.
Good theory and love the classroom gags, but I'm still of the opinion that unless the seemless retcon was related to Molten MCI, which i find unlikely as i don't find it a seemless change to the story, Molton MCI can't be possible. Plus Remnant is soul energy and implied to be an extension of the soul so the memories/behaviors could still carry over to different objects without part of a soul.

6. Crumbling Dreams: A story about Mrs Afton and what happened to her in the story.

I finally finished The Week Before,I can finally watch these theories again! Yippee! I also feel like “It’s Me” being associated with souls in general and appearing in fnaf VR,in the same place you get the Vanny mask,bolsters the theory that Glitchtrap is a human soul (in my opinion,CC,I mean he literally has tears on both his Princess Quest and regular designs. Then there’s the Fallfest of ‘83 in the Dreadbear DLC and Dreadbear being a version of Fredbear,who’s also associated with brains in that one mini game. It’s also likely Steelwool -who weren’t told the story- thought “It’s me” was associated with CC. VIP -likely a version of Glitchtrap- is also described as sounding like a young boy with a stuffy nose so there’s that. Furthermore,The Week Before shows that CC is willing to kill despite him almost certainly not being a confused/lost spirit because he died in hospital and would have seen his body). Mix that with Tape Girl saying “He’s looking,not like Chica or Bonnie would but REALLY looking” when the Mimic’s whole gimmick is that it’s just a robot and the fact Glitchtrap can’t be deleted,when Mimic would 100% be able to be deleted because it’s just code and I feel like Glitchtrap just is not mimic

5:00 This may or may not be somewhat unrelated to the topic at hand, but despite what Talbert says in the epilogues, I don’t think Remnant *has to* be combined with metal specifically in order to be called that (though metal seems to be the best conductor/medium for souls to attach to)
In that same quote, Talbert continues by describing it as ”a mix of the tangible and the intangible”. This makes me think that Remnant is simply a ”spiritual” energy that is kept in the physical realm by being attached to any kind of matter.
Furthermore, the name ”Remnant” in itself makes me think that it is any part of a person’s essence that *remains* in the physical world even after their death. And, knowing the mechanics of the FNaF universe, this would include souls, memories and emotions - even agony. This then would mean that agony is just a specific type of Remnant if that makes sense.

@Ryetoast! I know it probably doesn't make sense but I had a theory on the mimic being Elizabeth Afton because of how Circus Baby's eyes glow the same color as the mimic! I also got a better look at the mimic's design and saw a circus baby face plate! I think that Elizabeth might be trying to carry on her father's legacy!
Honestly the Toys becoming/being used to make the Funtimes would make sense given the similarities they share. The colored cheeks, Bonbon being a more distinct shade of blue similar to Toy Bonnie unlike Classic Bonnie, Funtime Foxy having similar colors to Mangles head and presumably their body before they became a take a part experience, even there casings seems to be of the same/ similar material though on the Funtimes they are plates. Like you can see where William may have taken inspiration design wise when making his new creations as he was melting down the Toys into Remnant if he didn't just retrofit om of the Toys parts into the Funtimes.
Also I wonder if the remenant in the Toys is from parts of the MCI remnant and with the Withered becoming the Classic before William came back to get the rest of them for more remnant did the Classics like sense peices of them were out there (the remant now in the Funtimes) and that was also why they wanted to leave the Pizzaria, to make themselves whole again.

I think the remnant that got injected into Mike that makes him, idk, live is also what is causing him to go to all these locations, or at least the FNaF 6 location. As we see the various animatronics are lured to the restaurant and so is Mike.

I think with the movie being used as well, I believe William had Freddy’s connected to Entertainment and Rentals to study the FNAF 1 animatronics since he was using them to give Funtimes more remnant as their battery. I believe that the animatronics developed intelligence because the Puppet was locked away in a music box by William Afton, so the animatronics want to gain more electricity power to run Scott free and find a way to free the Puppet from William’s control.
And with the Funtimes, they’re finally free. But without a leader like Charlie, Cassidy, or Elizabeth, they’re just lost and confused and they’re slowly melting into Molten Freddy.
All I can say is that The Week Before is THE holy bible of FNAF.

I have a feeling William thinks he has Remnant but doesn’t realize he actually has Agony. Not until AFTER he becomes SpringTrap does he understand the difference and decides he prefers the Agony. He wants fear and suffering and everything he does is to get more of it. Even in his moments of weakness it leaves space for revenge from his victims and others, revenge that is born from a fear of losing something precious.

I always took Phone Dude's lines about the secret rooms having been boarded up and needing a tip from an old building designer to know they were there to mean that they were still boarded up and he would never have found it without that tip to look for a sealed room. Is there evidence that it was resealed after Follow Me or was he just looking in a different location than the one where Springtrap was?

I also believe he gets inspiration from theorists. There have been several times where I'm pretty sure he made something actually game timeline continuity cannon, because he saw a theory and really liked it

i wonder if their agonized desire to escape their setting stems from wanting out of the situation as a whole. they want out of the robots, they want out of undeath, they want to go back to what they had before it was stolen from them. i like to think that the souls themselves were freed for the most part, with only traces of conscious ghostliness remaining in the remnant, and the unresolved agony of the situation remaining, obviously, in the agony. this way, moltenmci is true, and the souls still find peace, leaving behind echoes that congealed into their own discordant thoughts.

My only problem with Molten MCI is that the fact you're fired for how you smell seems to indicate that Michael is already dead by the events of FNAF 1, among other indicators that seems to put Sister Location before the original. One possible thought is that maybe it does extend towards the toy animatronics, as you said, but William returned to dismantle the originals BECAUSE he lost the funtimes. This then could lead into why the spirits could both be put to rest in FNAF3 and still wrathful in FNAF 6 and UNC. You put their agony that lingers around the original location to rest in FNAF 3, but their remnant still lives on through Molten Freddy, which then leads us to the blob since we know remnant is particularly resilient.
