Spend enough money and rich ppl get what they want.. Just keep turning wrenches on the assembly line while you're useful, this isn't your victory working folks... still a hell of an achievement congratulations to FORD.
The thing is, it is very easy to burn money and end up with nothing. It was very wise of Ford to hire Chip Ganassi's team for drivers and chassis development. Ford had the EcoBoost (engine and powertrain) portfolio under it's arm. Other partnerships had to be carefully vetted as well (Brembo for brakes, Mobil for oil, etc.) otherwise it's the same as burning cash with gasoline. It's very much the Shelby-Lola-Ford partnership in the 60's. Ford had chosen the right partners for the job, but only after the fact - at the moment it was a calculated risk. And yes, capital was needed for that venture. The rich have to be very smart to get what they pay for. Otherwise, "a fool is easily parted from his money".
Funny how these days you can buy a Dart 351 and up alloy block, heads, fully built crank rods cam etc spiting out 600 hp all day every day for affordable money and is better in all aspects than the old 60s works FoMoCo parts they were racing around Le Mons
That was 60 years ago, 60 years before that there was not a real car built yet! When TFS cast the first high performance Head for a 302 ford it opened the door for Ford Performance. Once the high flow head was available it was worth building other things, like good blocks and stroker cranks.
Have to have a "Gaping hole in the front of the car" I'm looking at the 2023 GT from Multimatic, where Raj is now in charge, and there is a Gaping hole in the front of the car. Porsche is heading to F1, Ford needs to get there too, and then Formula-E, which will become F1, eventually. Our Ford Lightning is being delivered next month. Can't wait to feel what 0-60 in under 4 seconds feels like in an F-150...

Ford is fast on race day best eng was in 60s a 427 now ecobosst 6-c wow great
My dad and brothers and a lot of other family members are ford fans and own a Ford one of my brothers was lucky enough to by a F6 in prestine condition and has over 700hp out of his straight 6 turbo can get more out of it easily, I love it but would like the v8 gtp or a xc cobra coupe 5.8L, or xbgt351 coupe or sedan only dreams very expensive and hard to get.
The first drivers i would go after are F1 drivers. Therevare so many outstanding F1 drivers out there that dont haveca drive. Also if i could get Tony Stewart in the program i would do that as well
Crying 😢
@20:57 So, they actually did take something from the Nissan GTR. Can you spot it?!
Cool story for sure, but I gotta wonder, how many viewers want to see a bunch of executive talking heads? Why not feature the engineers doing the real work?
Interesting that, going by Ganassi's criteria for selecting drivers, Ken Miles probably wouldn't even have gotten an interview.
It’s a real shame that Ken Miles wasn’t even mentioned in this. He is the ONLY reason ford succeeded.
