It is still possible to get windows update working again on a clean install of window seven. However, it is not easy! You have to first get Internet explorer 11 down loaded and installed on the system first. There are a batch of K B’s that need to go in to get this working. Then there are a handful of specific windows updates that need to go in second before you can go into control panel, click Windows update, and click check for updates. I did it a couple of months ago with a legacy window seven build I put together. I don’t think I will do it again simply because it was way too time intensive.
Huh, this probably belongs in a vintage computer lab at a museum for people to play with on old computers where they can experience what the digital life was in the late 90s/early 2000s.
I'm pretty sure modern security risks just would not work against Windows versions that old because of how differently they run under the hood. Malware, viruses and such are still computer programs at the end of the day, and won't work with an incompatible version of Windows any more than your favorite game will.
I keep getting a error while downloading the August 2000 update. not sure what to do besides trying a fresh install of windows again. Got it working on my other installation.
There is still people and companies that use Windows XP to this day. Older software just lost compatibility. And those softwares that they use won't update. And it costs more to switch systems than it does just to run a insecure operating system.

You could get the August 2018 ISOs.
Yooo we're living in the golden age of retro computing
Huh, this probably belongs in a vintage computer lab at a museum for people to play with on old computers where they can experience what the digital life was in the late 90s/early 2000s.
We need a video about the floppy wall.
The best channel
I like those speakers are used to have a set just like it for my gateway computer
I like the new wall look! I also like this video because the web browser doesn’t work on my xp computer so I’m surprised!
If i get a 9X VM in the future, you bet i'm checking this out
Gotta love that floppy disk wall!
Can you make a video about that system modifications for original site on XP?
it doesn't seem to work, when it checks for updates it just fails and gives a message to try again
i can just imagine getting newly made security updates for the 95/98/2000 windows OS that secure you against 2023 dangers
I'm pretty sure modern security risks just would not work against Windows versions that old because of how differently they run under the hood. Malware, viruses and such are still computer programs at the end of the day, and won't work with an incompatible version of Windows any more than your favorite game will.
Windows Update Restored revives Windows Update v3.
I wonder what v1 and v2 were...
How did you get the website to work on me? I using vmware player; and I cannot load the site properly
it tells me denied
The background, its nice!
I keep getting a error while downloading the August 2000 update. not sure what to do besides trying a fresh install of windows again. Got it working on my other installation.
Could you teach us to get windows store working in Windows 1511
This is so cool and retro :D
Wow!!! Very amazing!
We need to build a wall. But from what?
From Floppy Disks!
But seriously though, I really like the Floppy Disk Wall that Michael MJD has ^_^
where did you get that wallpaper? i quite literally NEED it!
Still waiting for your to try the nightmare that is 98SE2ME. It's a trip to install. 98 SE SP 3 on steroids
There is still people and companies that use Windows XP to this day. Older software just lost compatibility. And those softwares that they use won't update. And it costs more to switch systems than it does just to run a insecure operating system.
Is it normal that the site gives an error which says "impossible to view the page" (i have unofficial service pack 3.64 installed)
Nice floppy disk wallpaper MJD.
