I'm genuinely considering switching to ANSI-layout. I'm from Sweden, where ISO-Nordic is the standard layout, but I rarely type anything else than English. I really want my own custom KB...
No one is talking about the backspace key being 1u further away because the tilde, was that hard to get used to? I'd rather have the tilde as an extra key on the right side of the backspace so the backspace is in the normal spot.
Yea I’m thinking of buying it but I keep on looking at the backspace key position and I just don’t think I could get used to it. Seems like a major turn off for me. It’s a shame almost seemed like the perfect board. Guess I’ll just wait till ducky refreshes their one 2 mini with hot-swap-ability or when the gmmk compact refreshes with a usb type c cable.
Just program one of the split spacebars into a backspace. There are many keyboards that already have this. This gives you the option and I suggest doing it. Backspace on the bottom is more efficient when typing. You just gotta get used to it, and it doesn't take long. Hitting it with your left thumb (or right if you prefer) is better than stretching your pinky all the way to the corner where you may mis-strike and have to look down.
Really thinking what should i buy and saving money first.. It would be my first mechanical keyboard because im using membrane until now.. I'll use it as a gamer.. Sorry for the questions..
@@veeci2468 well, for me, I'm sticking with my drop alt. The gk68xs has the backspace shifted over 1 unit and this keyboard has a mic on it which makes me feel a bit weird about getting it. However, the biggest thing is that this board won't be delivered till around August, so you are waiting a long time.
@@Donbros I'm a huge fan of backspace as the left split space key. Everyone keeps complaining about the backspace but what they may not know is you can program the split space on the left to be a backspace and it's more efficient when typing anyway. There were many keyboards in the past that used this feature and called it "Erase-Ease". It's better to hit backspace with your left thumb than it is to hit it with your pinky anyway.
Wow great keyboard and features. I hate the keycap colours though because finding a high quality set with a 1.75u Shift key is difficult. A full black version with shine through keycaps would make me order one!
Dude you got me with the coheed shirt. Then I saw the Amory Wars and dice. You are a rare breed friend. First video and I can already tell you a good man! Cheers, fellow child of the fence!
Thank you. I was looking for a wireless keyboard (currently have Ducky One 2 SF). You sold me so I preordered one. I appreciate your straight forward vids. Keep up the great work.
rip, i just bought the ducky MIYA Pro Koi which looks very nice but I kinda want this now. Btw since the two Ducky keyboards are so similar what do you think of your One 2 SF?
@@mrED123 It's my first mechanical keyboard but I really like the build quality and the feel of the cherry brown switches I chose. I like that the Epomaker is hot-swappable as I intend to try different switches and keycaps going forward. I can see myself quickly falling into the custom build hole though after I get comfortable. You can't go wrong with the MIYA Pro Koi. I love the artistry.
1) swap tilde with backspace (like it should be) 2) qmk is a must 3) PCB mount switches gotta be supported, not just the 3pin stuff we keep seeing on hot swap boards Address those issues, they'll sell like hotcakes
Did yours come with the little red spacebar keycap? I really like the look with that red keycap, but it looks like they only come with the Arrow keys and Esc in red.
great video man yea i watch some your old videos you came a long way man i remember when you at 12k wow look you now on way to 100k great job man keep grinding man.
Yes I would like to know too. I have been watching for the right keyboard to call me... This one REALLY has my attention. Apart from the backspace... which I think I will get used to in the long run
I am waiting the day you get a nice and beautiful custom keyboard from a group buy with some exotic switches ( what i mean is non main stream switches such as H1, Gateron ink black or Holy pandas or even the zeal switches )
Good day. Can i ask something? Do you have an opinion about the Kraken keyboard? Still confused what keyboard to buy for my friend.. Kraken, kemove snowfox or any suggestion? That below $50.. Thanks. I trust you words that's why im asking you this.. Hope you'll help me out..
I will help you folks. I am not sponsored so i can be honest for free XD This keyboard doesn't do anything right! * backspace is at random spot (will everyone ignore that?) ** if they don't like to go with gold standart with backspace at least they could do split and accomodate some other folks * software is annoying. All employees should be canceled from their software jobs eho made this because they haven't done even ok job * it is expensive considering it sucks At least the name describes everything right - xs - too excesive for decisions no one wanted It is so funny brainbean can't critique this because it is sponsored. But it is understandable. I hope I helped XD
So the keyboard doesn't do ANYTHING right, just because you don't like the backspace key and the software is annoying (which can be improved easily). Also, the keyboard will be expensive, considering the aluminium case, rgb, hotswappable switches, PBT keycaps and the interchangeable space key. Plus, it's on kickstarter, which means it's supposed to be more expensive than it is, because by buying you're helping the company to even launch this thing. I hope I helped XD
@@krzysztofmattern7988 so you just repeated what I just told and tell me that is not enough. OK. I can critique this board even further but I though this would be enough. And I am not sure if this is actually a legit kickstarter project and not just a copy of another board because I saw this on aliexpress last year and it wasn't impressive. Making it on kickstarted doesn't allow it to be unreasonably expensive Even more main reasons why it sucks: * tray mount for 200 * underglow or media controls is expected for such price * you get mediocore switches (considering what today market is offerin') how is that bang for the buck

Oh wow I just noticed that... Now I don't want the keyboard lol
It didn’t bother me too much. But I can see how minor variations can be distracting.
wut, am I the only person that slams backspace on the outside of the key? so I'd be smack in the middle with this.

As usual, Brainbean posting videos of the latest and greatest stuff. Keep it up chum. Great work.
Triple thumbs up.. I really appreciate your honest and detaileds videos.. That keyboard really speaks everything..
Thanks for the like Sir.. It's a pleasure for me.. 😊 Can i ask sumthing? What do you prefer from the Drop ALT, CTRL and this Epomaker GK?

@@veeci2468 in terms of value, this is the best board however it is a kickstarter and brand new so there is a slight risk.

Contemplating returning my durgod hades 68 for this
I'm selling my anne pro 2 to buy this
I’d be switching up the keycaps to doubleshot pbt full black cherry height switches
Where can I get these keycaps? The only set I know of is Tai Hao's shine through PBT set.

The GK73 looks even cooler.
Picked up one of the aluminum wireless ones with the Gateron switches based off this preview.
which one is that ? their product list is a bit confusing
Etre so if you back any boards and want to customise, they will email you where you can select your switches, colours etc.
@@andreiangeles8297 I understand. One more question, how is the battery life on this thing ?
what do you think about this vs. the Ducky, specifically for gaming?
Man I love your videos, keep it up! You defenitely deserve more subscribers! ❤️😍
for gaming I'm wondering if you can reach both space bars with the same thumb to get an extra keybind in games like fortnite.
PBT keycaps are included in the basic barebones kit tho. The keycaps are nice but I need backlit keycaps.
Love that giant mousepad
i wish you also had the plastic one for a sound test
I preordered one but I missed the aluminum case so I went with the plastic one instead
You can still get the aluminum case
Looks like a sick keyboard also great Coheed and Cambria shirt!
I got more interested with that amory wars comics. 🤩
Another great vid by BB! Keep 'em coming!
When I can purchase Glorious 87 keys for 75 euros why a hell I have to buy shorter, vim lovers version for "only" $155?
Cause glorious isn't good
i wonder why that backspace bother me so much.....

Where can i find that black topographic mouse mat, love it 👍
Brainbean, I have been watching other videos about this keyboard. Why does it say Skyloong on the bottom when this is by Epomaker?
Can I use box jades /nk sherbet / optical gateron blue in this?
What cases would fit this keyboard, i’m looking for a clear acrylic case for it.
so if we put shine through keycaps will there be RBG backlight? or it is designed to shine around any keycap set, and not through?
How do you know if it's full charged?
Brainbean would you rather have this or the mass drop alt?
Yes I would like to know too. I have been watching for the right keyboard to call me... This one REALLY has my attention. Apart from the backspace... which I think I will get used to in the long run
Can i pop in a set of Novel Keys Creams?
Yes

Is the RGB lighting bright enough to read the letters/numbers in a darkened room?
Its alright. My GK61 is much brighter but this GK68 is acceptable.
If only it came in an ISO UK layout
Very good content!
Nice book collection tho 👌
is this not just a KBD fans 5 case with a gk64 pcb?
0:18, music song plez?
What are those lamps to the sides of you?
What is the weight of this?
You should wear your Breaking Benjamin shirt in the next video!!
