James you're not the only one who remembers them old school days. I remember the Sega Master system, Super Nintendo, N64, game boy, game boy advance, Sega Genesis. I remember those days just sit and play don't worry about the trophies or updates for that matter.
I really do miss those days Angel. Back in the day when there was no dlc, patches or unfinished games to worry about. It was simple and I absolutely loved it! 🤗

Yes, that's his spit. He's spitting on his enemies. Until he gets seeds, beer, bees, berries, etc in his mouth, then he's spitting those at the enemies. Flying Hamster is a great game with lots of interesting references. :P

The bosses can be hard as hell in later stages but the levels themselves are well balanced. It's a great game!

It really is, and since we never got an actual Mega Man game on there it is great that we have all of these clones to play.

I think Gal Gunvolt is what the Vita version is called, the other versions (at least the English 3DS version) are called Mighty Gunvolt. And I guess there's a sequel called Mighty Gunvolt Burst but that isn't on Vita from what I can tell, unfortunately.
Oh yes you might be right about that, since I played the game in Japanese I wasn't aware that there was a lot more of a storyline going on here. 🤔
My favourite pick up and play games are resogun, vasara, stardust delta, phantom breaker, entwined, konosuba attack of the destroyer, lumines, scourgebringer, xenon valkyrie, demon tier+, kawaii deathu desu, flower, persona4 dancing, wipeout. I would add talisman but you need to play it just once to learn the basics and then it's an endless pick up and play.
Vasara is still by far one of my all-time favorite shooters on the PS Vita!
Another place in japan has retro gaming.. dating back to game boy color/advance. They even have consoles before that.
Oh nice, I really wish we had more in my area. It seems like they are becoming less and less as time goes on. I don't mind buying online, but there's always a charm about going to a brick-and-mortar store and picking up a game old school style. 😊

The blonde dude is Gunvolt from Azure Striker Gunvolt series, a series available on *gasp* other consoles. These are all characters from Inti creates.
Okay, just a pet peeve about the explanation, but I'd like to point out that there's hardly any stages from Mighty no. 9 in Mighty Gunvolt. Aside from School, Highway, & Gym, the stages and bosses (aside from Pyrogen being in the Factory stage) are taken from the Azure Striker Gunvolt series (the blonde guy is Gunvolt, btw), while simultaneously downsizing them to work in an 8-bit style. ASG was originally a 3DS game, but it, along with its sequel and side series, Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX, have recently made it over to other platforms such as PS4, Switch, & Steam. Either way, I can see why you wouldn't know much about Azure Striker Gunvolt, since you're obviously more of a Vita fan, but a little research wouldn't hurt in the future.

Mighty Gunvolt isn't a consolation prize, it's actually better than Mighty No. 9 IMO! It's great, go play it anyway you can!

The blond person on Gunvolt is... Gunvolt. It's his name and his game, haha. I have several of the Gunvolt games on the 3DS, which is (to my shame) the mistress I sometimes cheat on the Vita with.

air race speed was one of the first games I played on PS Vita. I completed 100% so much I liked it !

6:11 i played gunvolt in the NDS and i dunno if it's true BUT there's a rumor that gunvolt IS number9 repackaged since the original design looks like a megaman plagiarism. Só there's why the number 9 is in the game as a dlc of shorts

Nice game selection, funny the last one was Gal*Gunvolt (yeah, THAT'S the title of Mighty Gunvolt on Ps Vita, and it's "sequel?" Mighty Gunvolt Burst got renamed on Ps4/Ps5 as Gal*Gunvolt Burst, being the ONLY difference that Ekoro is NOT a DLC/Demo data import bonus character).

I suggest "LUFTRAUSERS" if you haven't played it already, its a 2d bullet hell/shoot-em-up and super fast to pick up and play.

I wish more games were pick up and play nowadays. Sometimes I just wanna blow something up for no reason at all, no plot, just a nice stress reliever to space out with.

Point well taken. Unfortunately there's a lot of games out there these days that never left Japan or have since been delisted from the Western stores, but I still try to include them because I want to at least let people know of their existence.
Not bad might get those an ps plus premium that has cross play ps4 games that have vita it works :)

I'm not a big pick up and play person. So the only 'pick up and play' I can think of that I still play on my Vita is Retro City Rampage.
Does anyone have any good beat em up suggestions?
Yes I would try Dragon's Crown and 99Vidas, very solid beat-em-ups on the Vita. 🤗
