Most people reference magazine numbers or advertising numbers as bible facts, they make big numbers to sell parts or sell magazines, most of those numbers have nothing to do with reality, until the vehicle hits the drag strip those are really the only numbers that actually matter in the real world. I watch your videos because even if your flow numbers are down from unported you still report them, because for the most part you make flow improvement and you tell the whole story, not just the fluff

Flow benches are like dynos, no 2 are the same and they are tools to go faster not brag about results.

Flow #'s don't mean much by themselves. People buying a flow # are showing their ignorance to a large degree. It's the shape, the port flow characteristics, and the entire package that makes HP & torque and is unique for every engine. If everyone is building 383 SBC's with 11:1 CR we could get more specific with valve size, port volume etc.

Providing a service without pride in that service is a red flag! Eric, from everything I've seen on your channel...Being HONEST when it's NOT a positive look, is what separates you from the average. If anyone has a problem with you taking a comment personally, doesn't understand what integrity is! Stay true to who you are. Tell it how it is, and f--- those who lack the appreciation for your efforts. Have a great day.

I use an SF600 bench and I have never had any head flow what any of them advertise. Trick flow and AFR seem to be the closest and some are just waaayyy off the mark. But more than flow numbers is the flow quality. I have had some heads actually surge my bench from the port backing up. People who have never run a flow bench have no fkn clue what they are talking about.

Hey Eric! This is off topic for this video but do you think you could make a video of cam specs? but mostly cam timing? Also more sb mopar the better!

I'd love to hear Eric's philosophy on cam timing as well.

Eric Weingartner has talked a lot about cylinder head flow numbers from magazines and manufacturers. They all greatly exaggerate their numbers.
People may want to go back and look at the videos from last year.

Now I love the rants even when I disagree. But I agree on this one

Are you going to do a direct comparison with the Afr 385 heads before you put 1.8 rockers on the intake? Just to see what the direct comparison is? I think the Afr is still going to do better but that’s why you test lol

RE losing a flow bench race lol How many times in the last 40 yrs ( about the life span of CNC heads) have we seen this B.S.? Sadly this is not the last flow bench race you will lose.More sad? lol Most amateur racers will not believe your low/ REAL flow bench data. I think you have excellent F.B. equipment. I think your#s are very real.

I am not going to argue about tipping, the people that deserve the tips I don’t mind tipping, I agree about tipping at counter service, I try to avoid it also, the counter servers make more money than waiters or waitresses. I work for a defense contractor and a bunch of people I work with wait tables on the weekend into their 40’s and 50’s because they can walk at the end of the night with $350 to $500 on tips, no joke. That server is making more money than most of their customers for their shift.

Eric, on simple clear glass salt and pepper shakers, if you look at closely at the bottom, you'll see a rough, bumpy surface. Those are not to keep them from sliding on the table but to help you get salt or pepper out of them. You hold whichever you want with the holes facing your food and the bumps face up. Then use the other one facing up and rub them together back and forth. The vibration you get will give you usually more salt or pepper than just shaking them. This may not be on all of the but almost always on smaller ones you find in nicer restaurants. Just saying................
Hope you have a great week. Can't wait to hear about it.

Agreed in American and Europe both have their upside and downsides. Americans are usually short sighted and motivated for the quick buck over long term success. But then again salary employees in the US are expected to be available for far more hours than they are paid for and in right to work States are free to fire you for you for no reason which could be not working optional OT. As for short term gains look at credit card debt and how much Americans have put away for retirement. If you're old and working wait staff long hopefully it is in a vacaton town or high end restaurant. I don't know the middle ground but we could learn from others.

When someone says "everybody else does it like this or like that" IF it's worthy of a response I tell them to think outside the box like Bill Grumpy Jenkins Ed Iskenderian etc. Don't fall into the average zone lol. Great videos.

I will say this now you mentioned about people making high flow numbers thing saying his is accurate kinda thing. So I gotta say when I sent this heads to you and honestly I didn't know you until UA-cam or any porter really until I really got into it on UA-cam and Facebook so when I sent the heads to you my I know 1 guy saying you sent your heads to a UA-cam guy really oh man never heard of him and my local machine shop guy was mad he goes I can port heads and he doesn't have a flow bench and I have seen some of his heads have way to big of throats and I can get into it more. But yeah people were judging you just because your on UA-cam I could argue with them more but you know people like to stick with there old school ways and can't change their minds. And price to they go omg I could of done better for cheaper and my thought way oh yeah making a head flows worse than stock for one and another think parts and shipping were involved to and other porters can be more expensive. So just a rank I had to bring up when you mentioned people talking about your flow bench if you want me to talk more about I will be happy to talk about it more in the phone or whatever. And last thing my engine is faster now yeah everything was changed but yeah it's definitely faster

Yeah tipping sucks I swear everywhere I go now they ask for tipping and rarely I tip because long term that's a lot of money lost because of tipping so I keep seeing memes about people who didn't tip or didn't tip much the delivery guy they just get mad and throw your food I go really don't you get paid to deliver and get you want to get mad over to tipping god. And salt thing I know what your talking but for some reason I never dealt with that the restaurant I least went to they had there normal salt on the side on the table your sitting at so maybe I am lucky there I don't know. Crazy stuff

I have never seen an out of the box head match their advertised flow numbers, my understanding is they advertise the port they developed not the port as cast or cnc.
