With Crossway’s current 40% off, it’s $198 for horween vs $138 for goatskin. Not as dreadfully expensive as people make it out to be. I pre-ordered the horween for $198. I’ve always preferred bibles without gilt lines, less flashy the better. And the 28gsm paper has definitely become my favorite. Been waiting a long time for this Bible to be made!
Definitely going to have to pick one of these up (maybe in the goatskin). The size and layout are my all time favorites. The line spacing looks excellent too.
This Bible is perfect! I already have a light brown omega that I’ve had for 2 years as well as a dark brown thinline heirloom, so this Bible will be perfect to complete my everyday Bible collection. I love to study on Bible software and use the print Bible for reading. Wow, single column has never looked so good! I ordered mine and I cannot wait to use it!
@@BibleBuyingGuide I love it! I bought it in black goatskin. As far as the interior, it promotes a distraction-free reading interface because of the single column, and no cross-references (that's for Bible software). It's a good size and weight for a Bible (I like Bibles to feel like they have some weight to them), but this one won't weigh down the backpack. Good carrying size too. It's my new go-to, EDC Bible. Just a weird preference that I do, but I cut the ribbons out of the Bible. I usually bookmark stuff by putting a print out or bulletin there. If I had one critique, I thought the pages would be slightly thicker than they are, so when the Bible is open for a while, the pages curl at the edges. But I get that its a compromise not to make the Bible too heavy. Altogether, one of the best ESV's I've owned. Well done, Crossway!
@@jstaplz93 I'm glad you like it! Thanks for the feedback. The page-curl is normal in the cold months. It's caused by dry air and electric heat. Thin paper is worse for it, but I even have it on thicker paper sometimes.
I am going to go with this one over the legacy. I really wanted to get the Legacy because the website EV has their exclusive legacy in some really cool colors but I honestly care more about the reading experience than the cover itself. The spacing of this one seems like a winner.
It's great that you compared the heritage and legacy edition. The heritage does look really good. I'm a little confused about these different heirloom editions. Would be great if you did a comparison with the omega as well..
Thanks for doing this video! Any thoughts between this Bible the Crossway Heirloom Heritage ESV vs. the Schuyler Treveris ESV? Which would you personally prefer between these two?
Hi Patrick! I haven't seen the ESV Treveris, but using the info I'm familiar with, I think the Crossway would be a better all-arounder and the Treveris would be better for reading without distractions. I like the thinner block of the Treveris, but the Crossway isn't too large for me. If I had to choose one, I think I'd choose the Heritage.
I picked up the goatskin version of this... have you placed this one side by side with the first ESV Preaching Bible? They are very very similar in layout design
Good review as always, Randy. The Crossway is a beautiful Bible, and I like that Horween leather very much, but I guess I'm just old-fashioned; I want a concordance. So I think the Cambridge Clarion is a better, and much more cost-effective, alternative for me.
I could never afford such a thing. And thankfully, I have a great Bible right now. But I would love to see it and smell it! That leather looks like melted chocolate. Glad to see them moving away from China printing, too.
I know you’re sold on the heritage but have you considered the ESV PREACHERS PARAGRAPH not verse by verse? It’s the same text setting as the Heritage. They just put it up to a 10.5 font with wider margins and called it the Preachers Bible. For real, the pagination is the exact same it’s just in a larger font size.
Don't waste good money. Spend 10 to 15 bucks on a kjv and you will have peace of mind that you have a bunch more money in your pocket and you will have an uncorrupted bible.
Can you tell me what’s the difference between the Heritage & the Legacy please? How do you decide between them? I love them both. Perhaps do a side by side comparison video? Thanks 🙏🏽
Nice Bibke. Leather looks good. But to me this is just a smaller version of the original Preaching Bible. I might be wrong, but that is what it looks like to me. Only difference is the bolded verse numbers of the Preaching Bible.
Ordered the heritage and the omega last week... I think there's a mistake made with the print size on these bibles. In the hand, the heritage looks the same if not bigger in font size in my opinion compared to the omega. I expected to love the omega, but I love the heritage way more. I think the 9.25 font size on the heritage is not accurate.
A hundred bucks more than the goatskin? Don't get me wrong, it would be nice to have but not sure if I would dish out an extra hundred for the horween. This Heritage & the Treveris look nice. That imprint in the horween looks good. The heritage is paragraph style? Looks like it is.
Hi Mike. I haven't tried it myself, but I've seen lots of highlighting with dry highlighters on this paper in other Bibles and it works great. NOtes seems to show through, but I'm not sure what they were using.
So, let me consider this... I can pay $330 for a Bible with leather that stuffs, doesn't lay flat out of the box, with thin, see-through, coated, hard-to-turn paper, subpar ribbons, and no helps in the back. Sounds like a great deal. ;)
A premium Bible is not for everyone. You comment is really trying to down play the high quality/craftsmanship that goes to a premium bible. If you are satisfied with a hardcover, fake leathe $30 Bible that’s awesome. But some people feel it’s worth spending $400 on the best crafted option for God’s word. In a age where people spend hundreds to a thousand on shoes, phones, tv. There’s nothing wrong with investing in a premium bible.
@@edgardelgado8753 I own several premium Bibles in various covers (goatskin, calfskin, French Morocco, etc.). I am a big fan of a well-made, well-designed Bible. But for me, there is a limit. And stacking up the "cost" and "benefits" of this particular Bible, the cost simply doesn't seem worth it to me.
I just bought the black goatskin edition for an amazing deal of $150 and I love everything about it! Thank you for this review.

Drives ya crazy watching all the reviewers get theirs before you doesn't it? And getting it at no cost no less!! Haha
Way to expensive to be lied to. I would much rather go buy a $1 store KJV and know I have the word of God in my hands.
I just purchased mine after watching this video. Thanks for the great reviews!

That Horween leather will certainly keep your mind on the fact that the game is about to start! Get going, Pastor, the game starts at 1:00!

Perfect, except for all the changes, contradictions, and different doctrines and heresies it teaches, other than that it's perfect

The Heritage has more space within the text and is slightly shorter and thicker. I've compared them in this video.

Hi Moises. Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I'll grab it this week and do a comparison.
I love this bible!
