Agreed. The “I’ve read this cover to cover 3x” video of various Bibles would be awesome. Though, that would be unnecessary for a Schuyler goatskin. My PSQ looks perfect after about ten reads.
I prefer the Wellington leather over the Horween leather. To my fingers, the Wellington feels smoother, softer, and possibly more durable. Both leathers are excellent and I own many other items made with a variety of Horween leathers. Schuyler is releasing three new calfskin cover options for the Heritage: Sienna, Olive Green, and Prussian Blue. The Olive has a marbled/mottled look similar to their Desert Camel. All are available for pre-order.
I received mine yesterday. Your review of the Hertage Edition, and specifically the Wellington version were key factors in my decision making process. I am thrilled now that I have it in my hands. Thank you! I now have the perfect reading Bible -text size/format, the materials aesthetics and tactile experience are exactly what I was looking for.
I definitely prefer goatskin leather over Wellington or Horween. I just love the softness and floppies of a goatskin cover, just feels so premium. That is also a beautiful Bible though
Just a suggestion for your reviews; include the weight of the Bible. The information on Amazon is often incorrect in that it includes the weight of the box. I strongly prefer Bibles that weigh less than 2.5 pounds.
A creeds and confessions in Wellington leather might be "the one". I love that publishers are upping the game to the point you have bibles that you really have to ask yourself "how could this be better?" These wellington editions are essentially what I'd ask a rebinder to do.
The Bible is the most priceless possession of the human race. “Spare No expense” Crafted to perfection, indulge in elegant luxury Wellington leather Fine smooth beauty Fragile to your finger tips “Oh the joys of existence.”
I have been using this exact Bible everyday for just over 2 weeks and I really enjoy it! Smooth leather and already more floppy than when I got it. Interested to see what it will look like a few years from now.
Folks should understand that patina or "aged over time" takes years. I used the prior Heritage in Horween daily to read through cover to cover as well as sermon prep for a year and other than a few dings it looked no different at the end of the year. I never stored it nor transported it in it's box, it was always bare & unprotected. So if you buy this Wellington, chances are it will take years to be dramatically different.
Tim, I so enjoyed this video, but have a question regarding NKJV. You recently posted a questionnaire asking folks to choose if they felt the NKJV needed to be dated, or the NKJV notes ( I don't remember the details right now). I got concerned. Is there something wrong with the NKJV that needs to be updated? I have invested quite a bit into purchasing premium NKJV s recently. Has the quality of the translation been found with errors?
Love the videos tim thank you for this!! Just wondered what your personal preference is, wellington or goatskin? Again thank you for the videos! Hope you have an awesome week! God bless!😊
No doubt this is one of the most beautiful Bibles I've seen. I would love to have one of these but I just can't reasonably buy it, for in my opinion it is way overpriced even if you cut down the price to 30% off. It's just my opinion, that's a lot of money in the Philippines.
I have a question? Is Wellington leather Horween leather On the Wellington Box it says Wellington leather it doesn’t mention Horween leather. Let me know Tim. Thank You. The retail is $399.99 for the Wellington Leather.
Tim, I can’t decide between goatskin and Wellington on this one. I have the goatskin omega and Wellington alpha but not sure what call to make with the heritage. I love both! What do you think having spent time with the heritage Wellington?
Eh I would prefer to use Horween leather on boots as it was intended. It’s kind of weird to use it on a Bible. Look up the history of this leather if you are interested
Hi Tim! Thanks for all the informative videos about the different Bible translations and it’s different leathers. Also, how can I subscribe to the Premium Bible Giveaway? It would be a blessing to win any of the ESV, NIV, NLT, NKJV, KJV in a Premium Leather. Thank you and God bless you!
Do you think Crossway would ever branch out into other translations, such as the KJV? I remember one of the three Tim’s in the most recent Three Tim’s video broaching the idea of Crossway branching out and Frisch started to say something, then stopped. I’ve been wondering about that.
@@timwildsmith ok, I contacted Crossway and some other publishers. I now understand how people get “free” bibles. It is actually genius, definitely away to grow a bible collection. I enjoy your channel a lot, it is helping me narrow down a nice leather bible. Which I kept putting off for years. Thank you for all that you do!
Would love to see a crash test video after 6 months of use. Honestly, I would love to see these all around for premiums as to how they wear in!

Agreed. I'd love to see a well loved Wellington Bible.
Or, now that I think about it, I'd be willing to well love this for six months and send it back to you. 😊

Too bad its an ESV though :)
Would love to see an older version of it. Personally I love the patina look that they can get
The Wellington is a gorgeous leather. That brown is also just amazing.

Love the single column. Beautiful! ❤
Yes it is!

2.55 pounds
I have been excited about this review! Thanks Tim!
It would be amazing to see someone getting this excited about God's Word and not just about the workmanship of these Bible's that you review.

I'd get a Wellington Omega if I were looking for a Crossway Bible. I'd like to see more blind stamping on premium Bibles, it looks fantastic.
My wife loves Crossway bibles
I love Schuyler bibles ❤
Now I really like that!
Wow. That's gorgeous.😍🥰
I've ordered the olive green leather edition. Can't wait!
Nice!
love mine also have the alpha, fav bobles

Great to hear!
Been looking forward to this one. Got the Wellington omega and LOVE it! It is my new go to Bible.
Very Nice!
Also would love to see your review of the new NASB 1995 Thompson chain premium editions
I have some Cromwell leather bibles but I still like Goatskin. Especially if it's got the scars visible making it not steamed.
Great Bible
Looks awesome!!
It does!

New video coming this Thursday where I'll say more.
Definitely do the crash test! That would be cool to see.

I probably personally prefer goatskin… but this Wellington sure is nice.
All for a crash test video after a couple months!

you gotta do that hebrew bible set from Robert Alter just behind your head!
Good idea!
How would you compare the LSB compact Sola Edition to the regular goatskin ESV Alpha? Would they come close?
I have a question?
Is Wellington leather Horween leather
On the Wellington Box it says Wellington leather it doesn’t mention Horween leather.
Let me know Tim.
Thank You.
The retail is $399.99 for the Wellington Leather.
No, it’s different.
How's the patina on this now? Did you take it with you? Has it "matured"?
Tim, I can’t decide between goatskin and Wellington on this one. I have the goatskin omega and Wellington alpha but not sure what call to make with the heritage. I love both! What do you think having spent time with the heritage Wellington?
I would suggest you check out the new exclusive HERITAGES from evangelicalbible.com - I did a video on them 2 weeks ago
Tim, any improvement on the ribbons on this heritage???
Nope!
Eh I would prefer to use Horween leather on boots as it was intended. It’s kind of weird to use it on a Bible. Look up the history of this leather if you are interested
What is your opinion on this exact Bible vs a Schuyler Stridon marble mahogany goat skin?
If you want cross-references, the Stridon is hard to beat. But I like the heritage better overall.
Hi Tim! Thanks for all the informative videos about the different Bible translations and it’s different leathers. Also, how can I subscribe to the Premium Bible Giveaway?

I’d go with goatskin. Just can’t see spending $350 on this Bible.
$255, but I hear ya.

That was my suggestion. Not sure if they’ll ever do it.
Milk chocolate versus dark chocolate 😊
😋
matte finish will get shiny over time
Looks good but unfortunately the font size is too small for my comfort. I prefer a 9 point minimum.
It's actually a 9.25 font.
@@kenrock5732 oh I thought it was a different version, sorry! Yeah the heritage is great
Is there a verse by verse setting in this?
Nope!
Does anyone know if it’s a red letter?
It’s not.
In other words, the Wellington leather has a higher “cacao %” than the Horween leather…🍫
These bibles are very expensive, are you getting these for free from the publishers?
I get a lot of them for free, yes... but I pay for quite a few.

how you get a free bible though?
$399.99 at Crossway, Amazon. Barnes & Nobel, and BAM.
Christian Book doesn't have it now.
WTS Books has it for $290.
$255 at EVB!
red letter?
Where’s the yapp? I don’t understand the lack of yapp on expensive bibles like this.
I know a lot of folks who HATE larger yapp. I, on the other hand, LOVE it
$350
400 bucks...
$255
ESV Heirloom Heritage Wellington? Maybe I'm looking at the wrong one, I'm seeing $399.99 on the Crossway site.
