The the thought of AJ recording in that house in NOLA makes me think of how John Bonham recorded the drums for When the levee breaks inside of a stone castle (thats the drummer from Led Zeppelin for the ones who don't know) and incidentally the opening drum break of that song is one of 300 most used drum breaks of all time.

I make hip hop, and electronic music, and I eventually plan on buying a kit specifically to play my own breaks. I'm self taught on the drums. I was already a dj before so I understood the anatomy of a 4/4 drum groove and my roomate at the time at the house we lived at gave me permission to practice on his kit. It didn't even take me very long to figure out how alternate my feet. I'll admit that I'm by no means great, but when I do get a kit I'm going to practice hard af so I can record breaks along to a click. I plan on recording using the 4 mic method.
