  • Today we're finishing the install on the 6.4 intake manifold swap. Car is a 2015 Charger R/T with the 5.7 Hemi.
    Mods: 392 MDS Cam, 392 Intake Manifold, Diablosport I3 Platinum, Jay Greene tuned, BBK Shorty Headers, Magnaflow quad tipped cat-back, Scat Pack Wheels, Eibach Pro Kit, Bilsteins all around, SPC front upper control arms, fully adjustable BMR rear control arms.

    If you don't ever want to deal with dropped cam lifters then get rid of those 4 solenoids and plug em after a MDS delete 👌

    I know it is a to barre3 bars are on the supercharged Hellcat you can purchase a three bar if you're running a blower setup

    Just a heads up. Ive got a 6.4 PCV on my 5.7. Was in the process of swappin the intakes and parts shortage crippled me. Didnt realize it until i went to put the other intake together and my supposed to be new PCV was covered in oil 🤣

    Good job man now your about to be like holy shit because down low is going to feel strong but up top should be amazing given that the cam complements it. Also on the dyno play with the mds box to see where u get the most power at but believe me don’t set it no where below 4500 RPMs never nice video and just going to wait on the dyno video.

      You need them short runners and you will be like damn this is nice take my advice on it I’m fbo LT headers no cats and 392 intake cai and exhaust and tuned and on the dyno I only got 352 but that’s because I messed up my wiring on the short runners and I was disappointed but then I fixed the wiring and boom I was up to 375hp

      Whoa Weezy tbh I don’t know which cam you should do for supercharging it but I kinda want to keep my mds that’s why I’m trying to see how his turns out on the dyno now that he has the same mods as me except LT headers. Because I’m in between the 6.4 cam or 274 cam but I’m waiting to see dyno results from him and this other guy Donny rt with the 274 cam. If the results are close or similar then ima go with what’s best for my pockets lol

    Awesome build man! Question, what were the hp/tq gains after the 6.4 cam install? Trying to decide if I wanna go with a comp cam or just get a 6.4 cam since it's cheaper and everyone says you keep more driveability with the 6.4 cam. Thanks!

      Correct, the Mopar 392 cam is tame compared to an aftermarket grind. If you do swap in the 392 cam, delete the MDS and get the camshaft for a 6-speed Challeger IF you want the best performance. Not really worth it if it's your DD and you put a lot of miles on it.

      I threw a comp cam in mine. So glad i decided not to do the 6.4 cam. Only cost me an extra 300 in parts. Drives well in rush hour traffic too

      @@mrhyde0705 I'm also going with a Comp Cam custom grind through the shop that tunes my car. They really know their stuff so I trust them. They're also going to port/polish the heads while they have the engine apart. I can't wait to see the end result!

    Ik I’m late and all but how come you switch from Holley sniper to the 392 manifold

      This one works for a daily driver. For boost/nitrous or a max effort N/A build the Sniper should work well. The active runners in the 392 manifold are a huge ➕, you can really feel when they are open and it switches from a long to short runners. Almost like a small shot of nitrous.

      @@neverenuff2381 did your stock pcv hose fit the intake manifold? That part for 6.4 is discontinued cant though it says on mopar site to buy not really in stock ive

      @@bradfordmcdermott2063 I'm not sure if the OE 5.7 one fits, I have a Speedlogix oil catch can. For the pcv valve, I trimmed the ears off the 5.7 so it fit in the recess of the 6.4 manifold

    I want to do the 6.4 cam swap on my 06 charger rt, do I need a tune or anything other than the cam?

      I'm not sure about the non-vvt- variable valve train and the 6.4 camshaft. I'd get with Comp Cams as they have some great options for the first gen hemis. Definitely recommend a tune and if you go higher than a stage 2 cam, it's recommend to get a higher stall torque converter.

      6102192AA don't overtorque it as it's basically a wood screw

      You should, I saw about 30 ft lbs of a torque increase, the MSD box comes in when it's time to open up the runners. Also, I can easily add nitrous with it in the future

    When plugging to the injectors what wire is the ground wire

      I believe the white wire from the MSD Window Switch connects to the brown injector wire for the #8 cylinder. I didn't mention it but Challenger talk.com helped out a lot. Let me know how it goes!

      I was running an SRT oil filter and upon further research decided to go back to the smaller 5.7 one. Also, I've since replaced the entire valvetrain. Check it out: m.ua-cam.com/video/IL93UgDr2oI/v-deo.html

    How many mm is ur BBK throttle body?

      85mm BBK, negligible gains I'd say over the factory 5.7/6.4 throttle body. Can't really feel it while driving and you might see 5hp on a good day.

      Sorry already sold it and installed the 392 manifold. The Snipers are out there, I recommend that the o-rings for each intake get machined deeper. Definitely would benefit on a stroker or a boosted/nitrous build.

    Once you added the 392 to your car did you notice your car having a lil shake to it or did you get a p0303 code for a cylinder misfire??

      Yeah, on cold starts it'll shake a bit but zero codes after the install. Its been almost 2 years now and by far the best mod for your 5.7 Challenger, Charger. Ram, Durango, etc. CAI and exhaust is great for visual/audible mods but save your $$ for a cam swap!
