I have this intake. Been on my car, since i built it. I swapped from the 3.6 motor to the 5.7. Screams. I outrun 5.7's got it for my future upgrades like the 274 cam. I have a 95mm tb. No injector spacers. No issues from gaskets either. I used AN fittings for everything with the vacuum lines. Mines been on the car for a year. Got the intake when it first came out.
Nice! What did you do about the gaskets?
@soldierofliberty lmao... sounds like a lie and pointless I thought that reading it lol 😂
@soldierofliberty so u think he is lying about putting a 5.7 in a 3.6 car? Im here to tell u, its not hard or too expensive, i have both in my building now, both stock are the same except the engine. The brakes, trans, rearend, all the same.
🤣 Ahahaha...that was super cool and funny when you said "sounds like viet-nam out there" when the chopper flew by...completely unexpected. Great video by the way 👍👍
God DAMN that shit looks good. I can't wait tot find out what that did for the overall performance
Same here bro!
Hello, Hemi heads. Just had mine installed with MMX custom mounting plates and then hit the dyno. The tuner is a well-established Hemi tuner and knows his stuff. Numerous pulls later we went to the track to find the car lost 1/2 a second and 3mph in the standing 1/4 mile. After MUCH discussion as to why we think the design of the Sniper is not compatible with what the Hemi wants. The way the air flows into it then to the valves is static. The air is not increased in velocity heading into the cylinders as it does with the original Hemi intake. I now have a Sniper (HOL-837252) for sale (Intake has been powder coated candy apple red) Paid 890CND plus the cost of powder coating. Will take 650 for it plus shipping if required. Located in Ottawa, Canada
Dang, the price for research! Well that's good to know, I've been debating on trying out their hi-ram intake but it might provide similar results unless my car sees boost!
@@neverenuff2381 Yes it will do the same. You will require custom mounting plates from MMX (www.modernmusclextreme.com/p-311-early-57l-to-57l-eagle-hemi-intake-conversion-plates-by-modern-muscle-performance.aspx) to change the direction of the air flow. These plates and the standard "Sniper" had my throttle body rubbing my hood. The high ram one will need to have the hood cut I think.
Is it still for sale?
@@timland7553 Hey Tim. Yes I still have it for sale. I’m in Ottawa Ontario Canada were are you?
I also have one for sale, with a set of hellcat injectors, mine is just all black.
I LOVE IT!!!! TOTALLY AWESOME UPGRADE!!!! GREAT VIDEO AND THANKS FOR SHARING.
Really want to see a dyno comparison between this and the stock 6.4 intake manifold on the 5.7. This one looks better, but the 6.4 gives a steady 15-20hp throughout most of the power band. From low to mid rpm you gain a steady 20hp and then a little less up top, 10-15 if I recall correctly.
Going to drop a LQ4 with this intake in my 65' impala SS this year
Did you ever end up finding out how much boost it will hold? I am ordering a procharger and am looking at 22 pounds of boost. I love the look of that intake!
I should have watched your next video. It dont even hold a vaccuume lol. Did you ever figure out any working gaskets for that intake? Or is it just a paperweight?
@@nickjhoutstra oem 6.1 gaskets
How has it been holding up for you so far 11/31/20? Have you gained? Do you think there is a better manifold? Thanks
Looks like those fuel rail 90° bracket were upside down as why he needed the spacers
It’s really nice but it’s 100 % for off road use only. Holly is very clear on that.
Lol “off road use” 😂
Yes off road use. It’s none Street legal. Will not pass emissions according to Holly. Did you not read up on it before you purchased it?
@@stgraves260 still doesn't work right out of the box, on or off-road. In fact, it'll leave you stranded on the side of the road.
Hi, I loved it, do you have the list of parts that I will need to adapt to my 5.7?
Hey man 8:39 what vacuum lines did you plug in for that? And I noticed there’s a vacuum by the throttle body on the old intake and was wondering what you did with that, thx
U should put the silver bullet throttle body spacer on it too I bet that combo would sound amazing
Does the car run better with the Holley sniper intake or the 392 intake you previously had???
Man all those intakes make the same noise .. mines does the same exact thing
Would these injector spacers work with any size injectors? I guess are all injectors same diameter. Only asking because currently running hellcat injectors but eventually going to have to upgrade to bigger ones for e85 and boost
Did you have any issues with your brake booster vacuum hose? Where did you connect it to? I’m currently having the Holley hi ram put on mine
where did you run the oil catch can lines
looks great , sounds not so great. That manifold transmits every tap , tick or valve noise through it . had one on a 426 stroker in a 67 gtx and i absolutely hated it . also had a nasty whistle at part throttle as the runners stick up inside the plenum about an inch and the air rishong over them whistles like hell . had to cover the bottom with dynamat and it helped some , but i just got rid of it was terrible
Was is not necessary to bleed off the fuel system prior to line disconnect?
You forgot to reconnect your oil catch can
its a dash8 an. nice job . looks bad ass
Is this a charger or challenger With the sniper did you have to modify hood?
Love the way that manifold looks! What manifold bolts did you end up having to use?
I used the Allen head bolts that come with the intake. ARP makes a kit but they weren't long enough.
I’m running 8lbs boost torque storm supercharger would it be best to buy this manifold or keep the ported 5.7 manifold??
Do you still have the Holley sniper and how is it doing after it being on for awhile after driving?
It is gone, sorry
Can I still have my shaker if I go with this intake manifold ? Will the shaker bracket and shaker itself be able to go on top of it?
Sound like you know your shit brother. I read that you have BMR rear control arms on your charger. Are those to help with the camber after your spring install? I thought BMR is for mustangs?
I have a 2013 Durango R/T, this is pretty much the same exact engine and would be installed the same way right?
It should work for a max effort build. Check out my 392 manifold install, if it's your daily driver. Jay Greene recommends it and I'd have to agree.
How did you connect the catch can or do you just leave it off ?
So what did u end up using to marry it to the block u said screwsnwere to small 🤔
Was your throttlebody upside down?
man did you try flipping the l brackets on the injector rails?
looks good! You need those brushed aluminum mr gasket valve covers now...
I have them. They don’t fit great. Torquing them to spec bends the valve covers over the spark plug tubes.
I installed mine and my oil pressure got higher than it did before now it gets to 65 when I full throttle need help
Does this manifold sit lower than the factory one?
Does this require a tune as in will it set any codes off?
What gains aside from cosmetic?
Can use the oem intake manifold screws for the holley
Nice work!!
Do u know if I need all does accessories u show in ur video, I have 2018 Dodge Ram 5.7 and I’m getting ready to order my Holley Manafort
Do u need a tune after you install it?
What year is your car ??
What air intake is this and is it comparable with a 92mm hellcat throttle body?
Thanks for the info brother
what injectors you using and throttle body?
Do you still have it?
Looks nice
Hey man which hoses connect to the bottom
Hey man, do you have any more info on the rail spacers and fuel fitting you had to buy to make this work?
Yes, I'll put a link in the description but you'll need:
1- 8AN male to 3/8 SAE fuel line adapter.
1 set (8) fuel injector spacers Michigan Motorsports has them: p/n 56300
The last piece is finding a solution for the manifold gaskets, the fixed 6.1 gaskets might work or you can reach out to Modern Muscle Extreme (MMX) as I'm told they can machine them.
Can you send me the list for the small hardware stuff to install my Holley sniper manifold I’m having trouble finding them
@neverenuff
What should i BUY if i want this intake manifold for a 6.4 hemi
?
so bro you have been running with it for a while now ., how your engine hold seals without pcv valve and or oil cap breather ?
I pulled it off the vehicle shortly after the video, but it has vacuum fittings on the underside of the manifold. No provisions for the pcv valve though.
How did you connect the main fuel to the intake manifold? Thanks.
its a part at summit by earls its a 90 degree fuel fitting -8 nan
Who are you guys using to unlock the ecu for the tune?
Diablosport aftermarket ECU and I3 Platinum to install custom Jay Greene tunes.
Did you have to upgrade throttle body? Or kept the stock one
I have an 87mm BBK throttle body installed. Gains are negligible though.
What fasteners did you use for the Holley manifold
Nice Job!
Will that fit a 2003 ram 2500?
I have lots of room for it.
That thing is fucking mint bro.
Where did you get the cold air intake!!!
Ebay, they don't make them anymore. Part number 77070029 with a shorter K&N filter.
What size throttle body did you put on it?
85mm, stock is 83mm I believe. Not really worth the $$$ in my opinion
@@neverenuff2381 im having trouble finding the spacers. I got everything else. I also had to get a throttle body harness extender because i have a 6.4
@@officialbiga6 the fuel injector spacers? I used Michigan Motorsports p/n 56300. I think Amazon has 'em.
What kind of cam you working with?
In this video I had a 392 MDS camshaft. In some later videos I installed a Texas Speed Stage 3 boost camshaft that was 💰
We're did you get the fuel line-8anto3/8 fitting
Amazon
Hello, what was the ease of the install ? Also, what hp gain? Throttle response etc……. Did you need a tune after install ? Thanks, looks bitchin….. I wanna put one on my 5.7…. Thanks…Michael…
Appreciate it! I'm not sure of the power/torque gains as I pulled this off due to a major vacuum leak. Turns out their gaskets provided are not up to par.
Wonder if it will fit on a gen 4 ram
Would this fit in my 05 300c 5.7 or no
You'd probably need the adapter plates for a non VVT 5.7. Check out MMX as they should have them.
What injector spacers are you using
Michigan Motorsports 56300
How much horse power did you get??
Not sure, I switched it out for a 6.4 manifold for the active Runners. Might try out a Holley Hi-Ram soon!
Will i need to tune my hemi or I could just swap it and still run it on stock tune
I never got it figured out 100% but it did run good without a tune. There isn't a provision for the pcv valve so you'd have to delete it.
@@neverenuff2381 nothing blown by pcv cancel ? am planning to run the race intake with oil cap breather and oil catch can on the oil nick
While you're in there probably should've done a camshaft swap and deleted the multiple displacement. Gonna have to do a tune anyway.
Already did, checkout the latest videos:
m.ua-cam.com/video/o0IPRD4SOv8/v-deo.html
Can you still run an oil can with that intake ?
The only barbed fitting is on the driver's side oil fill, it does not have the top pcv valve provision like the factory manifold.
you know you can flip those brackets for the rails around then you. don’t need those injector spacers, it drops the rail the same amount as the spacer you used
With the 5.7, it'll hit on the driver's side oil fill. Another guy on here tried with the race version and failed due to not using injector spacers.
why is it needed?
I mean it's not, just trying to squeeze more naturally aspirated power out of the 5.7. With some machining, the Holley would be a great performer along with cleaning up the stock engine bay.
I don't know of a soul who has this IM that has seen positive results. doesn't even work well in boosted apps. The 6.1 is still the best bang for the buck for the boosted apps, and the 6.4 manifold is the best way to go for the NA builds, even some of the bigger ones, and even then you can still go run the 6.1 if you wanted. Interested to see if you buck the trend and get some sort of gains out of it.
@Spooky V8 not worth it IMO. Have seen plenty of folks do that over the 6.1 and it’s just not worth it.
@Spooky V8 just to be clear, moving to a 6.1 manifold on an NA build wouldn't be my cup of tea either, you'd really need the 6.4 with the active runners. That's your best bet. The 6.1 would be your next best move, but that's not really going to give you any sort of matched gains without a more aggressive cam setup that makes the extra airflow worth it. The Victor for the hemis is based off the 6.1 manifold....and it has all the issues the OEM one usually doesn't, namely the PCV hookups and sealing issues. And frankly, since it's a larger manifold, you really really need to be running super high compression and a large cam to even see some gains with it.....and, for what you get, you could've just had the 6.1 manifold for less money, less issues, with similar if not better gains from that piece. Port it and that's it. If you're not running an aggressive cam profile, there's absolutely no reason to change the manifold at all honestly. That's pointless, just adding an "upgraded" manifold without the complimentary pieces on a naturally aspirated build will actually cost you torque and HP, even with a tune. You need the complimentary pieces to go with it to get something out of it.
@@eldiablort1461 I'm in process building a stroker from an '07 block for my ram 1500. Molnar crank and rods, CP pistons, Inertia cam (274deg .556" lift int, 285deg .558" exh, 110deg sep, duration @ .050" 224 int 232 exh). CID calculates at 397ci. Should be right around 10.8-11 cr. Eagle heads, hellcat lifters (MDS delete), and all the goodies to go along with it. The stock '07 intake has a fairly large port mismatch with the eagle heads, but Inertia told me to run with it - just make paper gaskets and don't worry about the mismatch. I have the charger timing cover to relocate the compressor and alternator because I planned on running an '09+ truck intake. This will never see boost - I just want the most torque possible. I have yet to see two people recommending the same intake. I have read that people are using the newer style intakes with active runners and either locking out the actuator or hooking an rpm switch to the actuator (Inertia says this doesn't work, as the feed to the actuator is PWM and cannot be replicated outside the ECM with currently available electronics). Do you have a suggestion for an intake given the options I have with the charger timing cover?
@@Kettenhund75 i know Stu, I live about twenty minutes away from his house.
Eagle heads? Why can’t you run the 392 intake manifold? You might have to yank some control modules and replace them, but...I think that’s your best bet.
However, if for whatever reason you can’t, you can actually take one of the eagle 5.7 IMs, port it, and that would do the trick without you having to do a lot of of electronic anything besides the run. The stock eagle 5.7 IMs have more flashing and would see a fair improvement just from the port.
@@eldiablort1461 do you have ig?
You in michigan?
No, I'm in Hawaii
@@neverenuff2381 just subbed. Cool videos 📹
How muxh HP you gain on this one?
2.5hp
Looks great, but I have to say that I was really disappointed to see made in China on that box.
really nice intake...what is the cost for something like this..?..
around 600 on ebay for a brand new one
Only for the 5.7 not the 6.4
"negative 8AN" lol
Looks good till you dyno it
Hi
It looks like the injector stands could be milled down so the fuel rail fits correctly.
That might work, the oil fill through the intake interferes with the mounting of the fuel rail. IMO you shouldn't have to mill anything that comes as a kit. It should be a simple bolt-on.
That's what I did. Cut them, re-thread them And did a little grinding on the fuel rail above the oil filler neck
That is exactly what I’m going to do don’t worry Holley has already heard my opinion about this.
Will this fit in gmc sierra 2015 5.3L
This Hemi manifold will not work, however, they make one for the LS platform.
How come you got rid of this thing for the 6.4? Intake
For one, the 392 manifold seals and works well. I too was on the bandwagon and wanted the Holley to work but I didn't have that luck. I'll book another dyno appt and see what the new combo puts down.
Heat soak 🌡️
So whats better sniper intake or 392
IMO the Sniper would be for boost or nitrous application and a max effort N/A drag car. The 392 with its active runners is comparable to a nitrous shot
@neverenuff can you send a link on here to the entire setup for the 392 intake manifold? I have a 2010 SRT8 challenger and new to the dodge family, always been LS, be much appreciated on info on what to do for the 392 manifold.
This dude u can tell he is full of himself if they are selling it I'm pretty sure they pressure tested it so no don't think it has leaks bruh
Will this work for 6.4 charger?
Will you be selling your 6.4 intake? if so im interested in buying
Looks nice on top of the engine but what I dont like is that its china made i seen on the side of the box didn't know Holley have china made parts i thought they was all american like the cheeseburger
I agree, I'm sure if they offered it for 10-20% more, and made domestically, the US consumer would be happy to pay it. Edelbrock has the right idea!
These intake manifolds are complete shit for non stroked hemis. That's why you see people throwing 6.4 intake manifolds on 5.7s. This dude clearly dosen't give to fucks about your cars performance and is just trying to move product. I guarantee, he pulled that sniper off as soon as the video was shot.
I didn't get a dime to move their product, nor do I endorse anyone. I purchased outright and believed in the brand and yes I went to the 6.4 manifold with active runners. Thanks for watching!
That's a intake not a manifold, manifold is part of your exhaust
Uummm ummmm ummmm if i had a dollar for each time it was said. Also if your gonna spend this long making an install video...actually show the fine details of the install....like which lines did you use, how did you run the oil catch can, what bolts did you use to bolt it to the heads.
Where did you get the stock fuel line adapter and what size is it
Its an 8AN male to 3/8 SAE adapter. Jegs, Summit, and Amazon have them. I'll put a link in the description.
And do you have a pic of where all the hoses go back on I’m having that problem as well
Do you know if it made any more power??
Not sure, I'm sure it would benefit at the top end but the car didn't really start to move until 3-3500 rpm or so.
How much more horsepower do you get with this?
I didn't make it that far as it had a vacuum leak. Turns out the manifold gaskets weren't recessed deep enough to secure the gaskets they provide in the kit. I am told MMX can machine the intake so the gaskets don't blow out. It has a lot of potential though, especially if you're under boost or N2O.
What catch can are you using?
Speedlogix "S" mount
