- Back again with the Intel arc a380 graphics card for a retest. This time with an intel cpu instead of a ryzen one to see if intel GPU's really need an intel cpu to get the most out of them.
System info:
Intel i3-12100f
Msi pro 610m motherboard
16GB DDR4 3200mhz ram
Intel Arc a380

thank you. good info.
Intel/ryzen FPS comparison:
Intel i3 12100f
Warzone 2.0- FPS avg 48
Cyberpunk 2077- FPS avg 33
F1 2022- FPS avg 82
Total war: Warhammer 3- FPS avg 48
Tomb Raider (2013)- FPS avg 87
Ryzen 7 3700x
Warzone 2.0- FPS avg 17
Cyberpunk 2077- FPS avg 0
F1 2022- FPS avg 70
Total war: Warhammer 3- FPS avg 55
Tomb Raider (2013)- FPS avg 88
Ryzen gets 0 fps on cyberpunk 😂
Yeah in my last test of the a380 with the 3700x I couldn't get cyberpunk to launch.
Do you think you can put both the fps numbers from Intel/Ryzen side by side?
Pinned comment 🙂
As a request could you try DOSBox and see if it works with your Intel Arc card. DOSBox doesn't work with Intel Arc on a AMD CPU since about 4 months ago with driver 4676. I'd be very curious if Intel Arc on a Intel CPU is broke too. Thanks!!!
Does your AM4 mobo support rebar? Could be a rebar issue on that 3700x. I have arc 750 and it works well on both 5600 and 12700k with rebar enabled. I went to my friend, we tested Ryzen 7900x, Radeon 6900xt as a main card and my Arc 750 as a secondary GPU for streaming, and it all worked well. I kinda wish I got Arc 770, but oh well.
Yep supported on my motherboard and everything said it was enabled but yeah maybe a problem with the processor.
Must've been some kind of bug. I get good performance (for this card) with a 3900x.
I have a A750 it’s running well in my ryzen 5600 b450 system
Need to get one but it isn't avaliable on my country
And you should test it with an 12 or 13th gen intel cpu
Oh that's a shame, you could look at the rx 6500 or 1650 for similar performance. I did use a 12th gen CPU, the i3 12100f. Sorry I made a mistake in the pinned comment 🙂
Where are you from? I might be able to help you out :)
@@graphicarc i'm from Argentina but I didn't find any intel gpu's online or imported
try amazon i know amazon is a stupid idea but maybe you got one there
Do you happen to know if this ASRock A380 will work without using the 8 pin power connector? I'm planning to use it in a server which contains Plex, VMs, and Docker containers. It would be nice to be able to run this purely through the pcie connector.
It probably won't post without detecting the 8 pin as there may be situations where it draws more than 75w. I would suggest a rx 6400.
@@tomstechtable ok thanks 👍
Yep. Just Intel Inside Things. The card really needed a slot-only version. I'm going to assume that the A310 is never going to come out at this point.
However, Arc's monitor tool shows that it never really goes over 66W (the highest power limit supported through Arc Control) unless you use the OC tool made by Shamino, at which point, at least for me, it just takes *all* of the power it can and you realize that the itty-bitty baby aluminum cooler really can't handle that at all. Really wish that the Gunnir card (or anything else) was available in the West at a reasonable price. Not going to pay $200 and wait two months to try and blow up the thing to make it a not-1060 when I could be sane and get a 2070.
@@EbonySaints I'm in the same boat wanting a pcie only powered A380 or the A310 but I have no idea if it's ever going to be released.
Check out the Intel A2000. Its a plug and play that’s closest rival is the rtx 3050. Last time I checked it can be had off Amazon for $250 from Computer upgrade King….
You probably won't see much of a difference. I've been testing A770 on Intel (main PC) and on AMD (testbench) and haven't seen much of a difference between the two at least in games. A380 is the perfect streaming card if you ask me?
Yeah I think the a380 could be a great budget streamer card because of the AV1 encoding.
will there be another improvement for (if there will be) another driver updates?
Things should continue to improve little by little but I wouldn't expect any crazy jumps in performance.
@@tomstechtable i would expect better. look how amd drivers perform better now. intel is new to discreet gpus and working on updates as things progress. they will get better as time goes by.
there's no difference outside the margin of error when switching from intel to amd assuming chips are commensurate.
did you enable rebar ?
Yes 👍
Did you run with the same ARC driver version on both processors?
Yes, was the December 21st driver on both.
retry with latest arc driver 4146
If there is a request this is one. ARC a770 16gb comparison between INTEL and AMD CPU's. Something high end like i7-13700 and AMD equivalent. Lot of the reviews that are done point out ghosting and glitches with AMD. What this test clearly points out are the difference of architecture of the CPU's. REBAR enabled or disabled already show how much CPU is part of the ARC.
This is the elephant in the room. For sure it does work on AMD but it seems to give ghosting and glitches and compatibility issues. I'm just waiting when this will come as a talking point. AMD is the direct competition for INTEL in CPU's so this shouldn't come as a surprise.
I will keep this in mind. I have tried it on my 5700x but didn't notice any ghosting or glitches.
@@tomstechtable F1 22 I think is one bad one where you see halos around the tires and some other weird stuff. And some games seem to have more stuttering with AMD. Yes this is a hard one as no one has done a test side by side other than a380 that worked lot better with INTEL CPU. If this is the case that INTEL works better on INTEL it is a bombshell for new builds that are looking for an affordable GPU.
i have a ryzen 5700x build, using a a770 16gb and im having zero issues. none!!!
Glad to hear, recently got a 5700x as well so looking forward to giving it a go
@@tomstechtable thanks, you will be happy with the 5700x great cpu.
still runs like poo poo
😂
