Patrick your videos are the best and your setup tips are spot on! There are many confusing tips online and I have found that your tips really perform on the track like you said in your videos. Keep up the great work! Can't wait to see the next one!
Also the fact that you do TWO videos in English and German shows your dedication and willing to help everyone in the hobby. 👍

Perfect timing! And you have a great 2019 video about traction rolling on Carpet. Thx!

Great video, thank you. For carpet racing is it preferable to have floating steering vs that which is chassis mounted?
If floating, is it for vulnerable to crashes?

A great video! I’ve heard some people say that there isn’t much difference between 13.5 & 17.5 when racing on carpet, what are your thoughts??

Hi, I think that a good setup will work in both classes. Maybe some small changes have to be made but should be very close together!

1 question about the driving technique on carpet:
how smooth do we have to get? Should we brake later or earlier? Should we let it roll instead and use the brakes less in general? How about the best settings between the strength of the brakes on the remote and in the ESC's drag brakes. For 17.5 Stock class (going to ETS R5 end of Nov)

I think the driving in general is not so different. Just don`t think too much about it. For sure, when the traction is super high, a smooth and round driving style will help you. Maximum attack is always risky on carpet 🙂 Concerning the brakes (on the ORCA ETS ESC) I can tell you that most drivers are using Brake Punch on Level 2 and Auto Brake 0% or sometimes 5%. The brake EPS on the radio between 70 and 85% just as you prefer. That should be a good starting point! If the brake is too hard it willnot be good for tires and corner speed.

Awesome! Yes orca ets esc. Thanks for the advice! Might see you there.

    Hello.
Our club races on a low-medium grip non-RC carpet. We also are not allowed to use tire additives. Would our car setups benefit from using asphalt setups and tires?
    Thanks!

Hi Patrick, when you mentioned a larger lipo providing the power advantage for asphalt what would be the acceptable difference in L/R balance before it has a negative effect? The largest batteries are 60g heavier than my current lipo which gives me 50:50 L/R balance. Many thanks

Hi, normally you are at 49/51 with a +300g battery. But most drivers are shimming their motor 2mm outwards to compensate and all is fine then!

The same here. I don`t know the team Orion Motors so I would suggest something between 4.5 and 5.0 for start if you are running in blinky mode withouut any boost!

How often does a carbon sassy have to be replaced?

    • @ToniSport-Newsfeed
      @ToniSport-Newsfeed  7 місяців тому

That depends on the amount of use and wear. You only need the change when front or rear end is damaged or when left and right side gets thinner and thinner from chassis scrubbing on the ground…..
