    Hi Patrick, I am glad you said there is no difference between big and small pinion if the fdr is the same. Happy to hear a myth of rc busted. The only reason to always choose a big pinion is to have a better engagement with the teeth of the spur. Especially with 64dp module, a smaller difference in diameter between pinion and spur, makes the contact safer and less prone to wear or strip under stress.

      I agree, only other thing if you have a big difference is the position of the motor from the smallest spur/pinion combo to the largest. which can shift your balance a little as the motor can move forwards or backwards by 6+mm. but again is only a slight change.

    Thank you for sharing useful information,Patrick🙏 especially explains the same FDR with different pinion/spur gear.
    BTW, this is Gary from HK who u met in TITC 2023.

    That was an excellent video. Straight to the point especially on the ‘myth' that some do believe. One of the reason I think might be of use with different pinion/spur but with the same ratio is motor position(aft/fore).

      Exactly. That is what I forgot to say. You can definateley shift the motor forwards or backwards a little bit with smaller or bigger gears in use!

    Great video, really like the clarity about not worrying about to use pinion or spur for setting FDR. Question though, could you also do a video to expand this thought by including a motor analyzer? There are other video's out there about this, but I'd really like to hear your thoughts on if you use one, and if so, exactly what process do you perform to get the best results from motors, the amps used, gearing, heat, etc

      Hi Chris, I have a Hobbywing Tunalyzer here but have not tested it until now. I never owned a motor tester in my life, so I am not sure if I can do a good video about that topic. But hey: I will try to do that in the next weeks ok? Greets, Patrick

    Could you explain how to determine what fdr for a specified track in terms of length of the straight away, Or track layout. I havent been able to find very much information on it.

    Hey Patrick, what about the Temperature of the motor with the FDR with different gears?

    • @ToniSport-Newsfeed
      @ToniSport-Newsfeed  Рік тому +1

      I never had any differences as long as theFDR stayed the same! Because: Why should it get hotter or colder with smaller or bigger gears (when you change both). The Motor has to do the same work when the ratio stays the same! Temperature only can change when you change only the size of pinoin OR spur!

    Changing spur is cheaper ..😂 get the pinion which can take the most FDR/gear mesh from the spur..
