This is a great reminder that these "air rifles" are nothing like the ones from our childhood at the summer cottage.
Man, discovering air guns and becoming obsessed had to come at the wrong time. Pending double hip replacements and arterial damage repair cause by a staph infection. Gonna be a while before I can get back work, by then I’ll be ready to dive in! Thanks for the reviews!

As a kid we had old cars out back on grandma's farm. We shot them with everything, bb guns, 22lr, 20 Guage, 12 gauge, 30-06, slugs, pellets, birdshot, and even bows and arrows. As a kid shooting those older model cars we knew cars were lousy bullet stoppers. That was when there was a lot more steel, and thicker gauges than modern vehicles. I'm not surprised at all those air rifles went thru.
Great fun and informative shooting video. I’ve shot through a car door Mitch my FX Impact 30 cal. 880 fps. with no problem at 50 yards. The only problem that arises is shot placement on the door. On the back side there may be additional metal bracing or support, this will definitely hamper penetration. Most people think an airgun pellet will only penetrate paper. LOL😮 I ❤ your videos.
Penetration power is very different calibers between - if bigger calibers was not so restricted here in Denmark, it would be loads of fun comparing them in a test like this 😃

Home is Denmark and we are limited to 177. Bigger calibers requires a hunting licence.
The good thing is that we are not limited in power in 177. We are only allowed to shoot at private property and in a safe way.
Czech Republic - limit to 16 joules until 2022. From 2022 up to caliber 6.35 there is unlimited power.

Something different, the.177 cal slug has a small frontal area that probably helps with penetration, the power you are using might not be enough to penetrate with.22.
Yeah, bump that bad boy up to around 1050-1075 fps, You'll see a big difference in penartration.

You are right! In Denmark we are only allowed to shoot the 177 without a hunting licence. But the good part is that it is not limited in any way.
Thought about getting the licence, but it takes a couple of months. And after this I have to register any gun over 177 and keep it locked up. And Im not allowed to shoot it in my garden. And then there are all the other stuff that I cant do...
So saddly too much of a hazzle - eventhough it would be fun to shoot bigger calibers sometimes 😃
what brand and model car is the door . the doors of modern cars are made of thiner materiaal then in the past . try a door of a saab 92 .
SAAB or Volvo from the past could be used on a battle field 😂 They were 1-2 mm thick while todays cars are 0,6-0,8mm. This door is from a Toyota Aygo, so my guess is 0,6 mm 🤔

Using lead free pellets will make a huge difference as lead is obviously much softer.

I remember when I was younger and used the Diana 48. I tried some steel pellets with a plastic cover - you might remember them 😃 They penetrated much better than standard pellets 🙂

I'm Shooting 23 gr NSA slugs from my impact at 980 fps for 49 fpe, I might have had slightly better results but Impressive just the same.
to bad you didnt film the backside of the door
I couldnt really see anything on the backside, but I imagine that they did go right through at 25 m. Just couldnt find any clear indication 🤔
No mention of the caliber? 177?

@@VikingAirgunner. I wanted to purchase the FX impact Mark 3 but I'm in Canada with tax it's going to be over $3,000. I know someone who is selling a Mark II for less than half the cost of a mark 3 with extra barrels.
If I install the power plenum what advantage would the Mark 3 have over the MK2 and is it much of a difference?
@@surreallife777 There is a difference. But with the right setup and tuning the mkll is a very nice gun.
Overall the M3 has some smaller tolerancens which makes the gun more accurate. The new M3 comes with the power block - not that you need it for 177 - and the 72 cc plenum. The 54 cc plenum in the mkll will most likely give you the power that you need, but with the compromise of a higher reg preasure =less shots pr fill.
Be aware of which barrels it comes with. Might be the old stx liner which is excellent for pellets. Could be the STX Superior liner that will shoot both pellets and slugs. If you want to shoot slugs only I recommend the heavy liner.
I have much better results with the M3 than I had with the mkll, but then again my knowledge has increaded alot, so in order to compare them fairly I would have to test them side by side.
But I imagine that the M3 would win.
Depending on your expectations a mkll is a great gun!

Peter at 125meters you showed a different impact spot (at 7:59) than the video showed when the shot was taken (7:08 in the video). They looked pretty much the same, but still :) Fun video - keep up the good work!

That was a fun video. I’ve shot my .308 Texan into a car door and it will not penetrate where the window mechanism is located. That’s with a 120 grain cast projectile at 965 fps. I didn’t video it but I did video my 457 Texan testing penetration in pine 2x4’s and comparing a 44 mag & 45 super to the air rifle. The result surprised me. The air gun out performed the powder burners.

MEN !!!!! jeg skyder på 80 M og skærmen er fra en 1984 Dodge Ram charger, men der er da huller i den, dog ikke så meget som de gamle blik tagplader jeg også har skudt på / brugt til at hænge skiver op på, for de er godt nok gennemhullet.
Hvad så er dynamic den nye gøb eller hvad ?
På 50 M har vi et køle / fryse skab stående, det er nu mere huller end noget andet.

Jeg har ingen anelse om hvad der er sket, men i dag der skød min Maverick ganske udmærket ( forholdene taget i betragtning ) med 16 of 20 grain hagl, i det almindelige løb, men naturligvis også i heavy løbet.
Da det begyndte at regne og vinden blev list mere forudsigelig på marken, jeg tror jeg skød mit bedste nogensinde BR50 kort med Maverick-en, på trods af at jeg ikke længere kan få det " pubad " til at skyde nogenlunde samme hastighed i hver skud, jeg kan skyde 3-4-5 skud der kun variere et par FPS, men så BAM og den stiger eller falder 15 - 20 FPS for 1 skud, og så er den tilbage til normal.
Køber en af de nye regulatorer, og så er jeg ellers færdig med FX for et stykke tid.
Stefan is somehow cheating by connecting his rifle constantly to the big air tank.....no drop in power throughout the session.
I will tell him that he has been disqualified 😜
