Max lives here in N. Phoenix or at least he use to. I would see him at the Jack N the Box on 32 street and Cactus sometimes during the day. He basically lived across the street and he would walk up there. I went to Dana’s funeral when I was a sophomore in college in 1996. That was a sad loss because even though Dana was Max’s stepson Max treated Dana like his own child. RIP DANA. One of my favorite Sepultura songs. That Soulfly album that’s dedicated to Dana is bad ass also.
I was at the show at Club Rio, it was a Soulfly show, it was right after Dana passed away. It was soulfly, Hed PE, and Hemlock. All the lead singers came out with soulfly and Max’s son who’s was probably 10 years old at the time sang Roots. It was insane and I’m sure you could hear the noise all the way across Mill Ave. Insane show.

And it was kinda cute when on school's subject "Culture" I made a presentation about Sepultura, and this young teacher told me "Oh, yeah, my husband loves Sepultura so much" 😅😅😅 It was fun 'cause of the whole class we were the only two who actually appreciated this music.
Sepultura, pantera, slayer started me on my heavier metal journey. Still staples of my metal diet. Saw soulfly in concert opening for pantera, bad ass concert 🤘🤘
