    I'm glad they updated the hair regulations to accommodate natural hair earlier this year. I shaved my head before I joined bc I didn't want to deal with the criticism but I've been growing it for 2 years now. Thanks for the video

      Wow I'm also mad they changed the regulations soooo late after all these years! I'm happy that your hair is growing and flourishing ❤️

      Hope you can still see this ik it’s been a while but how was growing it out like in the military? Im keeping my hair short for basic and I plan on growing it out during AIT but im worried itll be seen as “out of regs” once it gets to 3-4 inches. I’d wanna get braided bob or cornrows once it’s grown out

      @maebunny5298 hello, I would recommend doing regular braids to grow out your hair. Females have more rights compared to the guys when it comes to length check out the female regulations for 2024

    I appreciate these tips. I love to see so many black girls having healthy natural hair. When I as growing up, it was only like two and the rest of us had damaged relaxed hair. I've been in the military for 11 years and wore my hair on a short afro but I would like to grow it out now. Thank you!

    What about when you’re allowed to leave base in AIT? Will we be able to go out and buy hair products that we can bring back?

    • @joypressley4821
      @joypressley4821  Рік тому

      You can buy hair products at the px anytime they let you go which is pretty often like every week they do store runs

      @@joypressley4821 oh okay, so we can only buy products from the px? Cause can’t we leave base after phase iv if we earn a pass? So if I went to a Walmart or something off base and bought hair products, I wouldn’t be able to bring those back with me?

    I am puerto rican, not a black woman, but I do have curly hair. Videos like this are super helpful for me, especially with how rare they are. I’ve been considering going into one of the academies but I don’t want to kill my hair. This helped me understand my natural hair better and how to care for it. Thank you for this, god bless. 🫶🫶🫶🫶
