Aaaahhh.. You made me miss the good old days! My Trex700N DFC is still intact in the bag, been sleeping for so many years now! Maybe it's time to wake her up!
It really amazes me the depth of your experience. I’m like you in that all RC vehicles are pretty cool. I’m mostly into flying. I’ve got a 4x4 and a boat but they don’t challenge your skills as much as aircraft. Plus I’ve always been an aviation fanatic LOL!! When you start getting into a helicopter that big I start thinking body armor is a good idea after that kid in New York with the 700. It just shows that you have to respect them. They definitely aren’t toys. Great stuff Jeff!!!
I appreciate that! I am into anything or see really I love it all. I used to be in the cars years ago but I haven’t messed with them in a long time now it’s just airplanes, helis and boats! But you are 100% correct they definitely take a ton more skill! Yeah! Big helicopters are no joke! You have to respect them and be cautious and no matter how cautious you are stuff still happens these things are remote controlled electronics fail mechanical fails. So you always have to just be super cautious and pay attention the entire time. If somethings not right or something starts to feel weird always better safe to land then kill yourself and or someone else or be injured. Drives me crazy when I see these guys on forms and videos flying in the garage or living room with a 550 or 600, 700, 800 size helicopter. It’s just mine boggling and extremely dangerous and stupid. Or I have seen multiple videos of guys flying in their neighborhood or in a park with people walking around and unfortunately that kid did lose his life in New York and that’s something you have to be cautious about!
Love the "old school" videoe so so much more than "new szabo crazy stuff!" Could watch all day, i started when lipos where new and i had crossed sticks for training gear! Im an x Supercar engine builder until i wrecked my life/ and all around me's life with drugs! The mad thing is, ive never owned or flew a nitro, obs i understand the rich run in period, but, hopefully one day i will save and save to buy one! Love your vids, knowledge and keep flying bruv! Respect RC ADDICT
Appreciate it man! Thank you, I remember those days too! Having the ping-pong balls on the end of the fiberglass rods as training gear. My very first helicopter didn’t even have a tail Gyro. Had to learn how to fly that tail and man was it a nightmare lol I remember the days of the first LIPO! My very first electric helicopter that I started playing with was flying on NiCad packs and only would hover! Lol I try to do a little bit of both flying styles. I love smack 3-D but I know a lot more people can relate to regular flying. I love Nitro! I’ve been flying Nitro planes and helicopters for over 20 years. They’re really not that expensive especially if you find a older machine like this you can pick them up ready to fly for around $350 all day long. That’s Fly bar but that’s nothing to convert it. When I bought this helicopter six or so years ago it was a fly bar too. Appreciate you watching man!
@@westhobbiesrc8051 Okay, so I set up the travels to 100% for the 4 channels in the Brain app (for which I had to decrease endpoints in the TX). And after going through the setup steps like setting pitch and cyclic where everything seemed fine, after a while I noticed that beyond aileron STICK throw of 25-30% the swash plate wouldn't move further. I noticed the same for the elevator stick throw. So in other words, I push the aileron or elevator stick to about quarter throw and the swash nicely tilts to its corresponding max position, and if I push the stick anywhere further, the swash doesn't move any further. I didn't notice at first because I was constantly testing with max stick movement - and then... wait a sec... something isn't right here. Weird thing is that I had the same problem with the tail servo throw, and after messing with it forever somehow it went okay. Now 100% stick is 100% throw. I have no idea where and what I have to set to fix this aileron/elevator throw problem. I can make a video to showcase, if you like. I am using PPM input for the Brain2, if this matters. Any ideas?
@@Abszurdista-fatalista OK do you have your throws set to 100% in Ikon right? Meaning going into your radio and adding servo travel until you reach 100% in all directions. Did you set the limit? Swashplate and tail servo limit? If you can make a video that would definitely help for me to see and understand.
I'll have my Raptor 30 out this year. That's the first helicopter I ever had 25 years ago but after I flew it into my leg and snapped a main blade off in my leg I quit flying LOL and then started again about a year and a half ago and now I have bigger than the Raptor 30 LOL
A T-Rex 700x 550x 500x 470 LM 450. Blade 600x and 550x both in scale fuselages and also a T-Rex 550e dfc in a scale fuselage. And then a bunch of small ones like three 230s, two 150s, 130s and a BL2 and a few other miscellaneous ones that are just shelf Queens. And also the Raptor 30
