I agree with you, but to be fair the amount of meaningless violence and deaths caused to young people in Bōsōzoku is kinda insane, it’s not even gangs that include family associations or organizations or whatever; it’s a subculture designated for youths to rebel against societal norms onto each other until they ‘retire’ around 18 years old. i love that charlie only learned how to ask for someones phone number in japanese. it goes perfectly with him trying to be an anime antagonist in college. god this man is a national treasure we did not deserve.
When Garnt brought up how Charlie's takes are uncommon in the anime community, I felt that. I feel like people don't critically analyze anime and react angrily when you point out how this writing choice doesn't make sense or how certain actions of characters don't make sense. I think anime has evolved enough that we can start asking for things that make sense. It's still anime and will still be wacky, but they can still have good plots, consistent characters, good female characters, a nice ending, etc. It's so much fun to absorb media critically and form opinions outside of what the narrative wants you to believe.
They mock learning Japanese from subtitled anime which is true, but 3+ years of watching vtubers with and later without subtitles has done more for my Japanese vocabulary than the previous 20 years of being a weeb combined. I wonder why I still only recognize little fragments of sentences and couldn’t even totally translate it, but now I can use what I do understand and context clues to kind of sort of understand what is being said, which feels like an accomplishment
It's because japanese vtubers actually speak regular japanese. No one speaks the way anime characters do. Plus, you're more focused on the vtubers when there's no crazy anime plot going on in the same situation (i would assume)
I had no idea Big Moist would be on the podcast. Lovely surprise for me. He always seems like a genuine guy, one of the biggest and remaining "UA-camrs"

I think a fanbase gets toxic when it's popular enough that you see a lot of people simping over psychopaths. Neferpitou was a monster and all people focused on is if they're a boy or girl.
It's more that once a fanbase is large enough, there are enough people to make an opinion appear more popular. If 10% of a fanbase with 10,000 people think Pizza Crusts suck, that's only 1000 people: They're ignoreable. But if 10% of a fanbase with 1,000,000 people think that JJK is Mid, that's 100,000 people with trash taste.
@@tims3329 Yesss this exactly. Toxicity is always there, it just scales to a more prominent size as the fanbase gets bigger. A UA-camr with 100 views might have 2% of his viewers be toxic, that's just 2 people. But if he gets 5 million views, that small 2% represents 100,000 people now. That's a wholeass army that hates you, an entire city's worth of people who are toxic. It's damn near impossoble to have a gigantic fanbase without having a significant number of toxic people

How was it condescending to Italians he was just poking fun at one politician. Chill.
@@tpsam bruh italian politics kinda sucks ass. Growing up in naples was fucking awful.
"A bad movie sommelier" is probably one of the most apt descriptions of Charlie that I've heard
i love that charlie only learned how to ask for someones phone number in japanese. it goes perfectly with him trying to be an anime antagonist in college. god this man is a national treasure we did not deserve.
Real fans know that this man got a Trash Taste special before being an official guest.
I wonder why
I still only recognize little fragments of sentences and couldn’t even totally translate it, but now I can use what I do understand and context clues to kind of sort of understand what is being said, which feels like an accomplishment
Maybe the sentences are more realistic/relatable irl? Like it isn't scripted so it's more real? Idk
It's because japanese vtubers actually speak regular japanese. No one speaks the way anime characters do. Plus, you're more focused on the vtubers when there's no crazy anime plot going on in the same situation (i would assume)
You've absorbed it through osmosis.
Can we all agree this is the best month for Trash Taste .
Pewds episode , New Special , and Charlie episode in same month ! hell yeah !
Charlie fits so well with the boys. Absolutely legendary episode.
The reason the sugar water didn't work was because he didn't mix it with hands filled with ten thousand years of Chinese love.
I had no idea Big Moist would be on the podcast. Lovely surprise for me. He always seems like a genuine guy, one of the biggest and remaining "UA-camrs"
"is florida as crazy as the internet portrays it?"
charlie's dad: oh imma make an automatic ass wiping robot
I am so used to seeing Charlie as his expressionless sarcastic youtube persona that watching him express his emotions talking about anime is incredibly surprising and refreshing simultaneously
I can’t believe they got the hit hunger games actor, big moist on the podcast
This will be such a treat. Damn Charlie is so tiny and I'm shocked that he has legs
He was edited down in post, he is much bigger irl.
I love coming back to this episode, Charlie is just the most wholesome guy on this earth who just radiates good vibes
I think a fanbase gets toxic when it's popular enough that you see a lot of people simping over psychopaths. Neferpitou was a monster and all people focused on is if they're a boy or girl.
Agreed
Fr. Like, its a damn cat who killed the main character's friend. Who cares if it's a boy or a girl?
It's more that once a fanbase is large enough, there are enough people to make an opinion appear more popular.
If 10% of a fanbase with 10,000 people think Pizza Crusts suck, that's only 1000 people: They're ignoreable.
But if 10% of a fanbase with 1,000,000 people think that JJK is Mid, that's 100,000 people with trash taste.
@@theredeyes10489 killing is just a normal Tuesday for a cat
@@tims3329 Yesss this exactly. Toxicity is always there, it just scales to a more prominent size as the fanbase gets bigger. A UA-camr with 100 views might have 2% of his viewers be toxic, that's just 2 people. But if he gets 5 million views, that small 2% represents 100,000 people now. That's a wholeass army that hates you, an entire city's worth of people who are toxic. It's damn near impossoble to have a gigantic fanbase without having a significant number of toxic people
I REALLY LIKE 2HR PLUS EPISODES it gives me something to spread through my day and stay interested in, please consider staying with this length
I love how there are times Charlie and Joey casually fidgets their legs synchronously. Lol
really cool that the Trash Taste crew took notes from Peter Jackson's methods of using forced perspective to make Charlie look smaller than our boys, the production is going nuts
Yea even pewdiepie look pretty small compared to them
I love how oblivious Joey is to literally everything
i remember i telling my friends i watched jojo out of order, they literally were out for blood.
I already know this episode is gonna be *such a good vibe.*
This video is like watching one kid talking with three adults.
Hey give Connor some credit. He's old enough to drink CAFFEINATED coffee now 😂
@@CyphrRedgrave he's even worm his favorite pink shirt for the occasion
The E-Sport segment of the vid really shows the untapped potential that TF2 has to be the best E-sport game
I'm trying to think of good eSports games.
@@poohssmartbrother1146 Hear me out, I'm not crazy, but Fortnite. Seriously if you look into it's competitive side it's insane.

@@Watburnt noone likes building
It's surreal seeing Charlie speak with a bit more energy compared to his main videos
The fact that my two favorite channels are collaborating is so crazy
I wasn't looking and Garnt's sneeze scared the heck out of me....
This episode flowed really well, I had to stop watching to do something else but I couldn’t find a moment I could pause because there was always something mentioned that made me curious. 👏👏
