Yup. And if you can make ur own custom lens for the camera, you can also get even more personal with the results.
With custom lenses you can take phone cameras to a whole new level... But it's kinda cancer having to test multiple different lenses to eventually find one that works on top of the existing phone lens cos these companies don't like to release the exact specs of their lenses like the exact focal length of each lens inside etc, so it's a lot of messing around and every phone is different but it's worth it if you wanna get more personalised results

Huawei has enough of us blokes here in Asia.. buying mediocre and above offerings.
      also the other meeetoo brands.
they might not know of this person or not be that priority to reach out to prospective users via such advertising.

As someone who comes from Norwegian heritage this reminds me of how far I need to move Norway up on my shortlist. As a climber I'm having a hard time justifying the extra expense of weight and space that a full frame rig would cost on a multi-day adventure. The images this ultra minimal setup is able to capture is still quite phenomenal with little extra pain.

What a wonderful little trip you have made Morten.
Whatever the telephone is (I recognize him, I have it myself), it doesn't matter at all. You can make beautiful images with these types of cameras, provided you know the limitations of your camera and understand how to set everything.
The only thing I never hear anyone talking about, but what I think is enormously important, is that the glass plate for the cameras must be cleaned thoroughly every time, otherwise, there is grease and dirt on it, and you don't want that. Perhaps that is the biggest limitation of a telephone camera, that you deal with it differently than with a normal camera.

This honestly came out better than I was expecting for a smartphone😯 It's crazy how much technology has progresses! @lore88824 5 років тому +8

Super interesting! Thanx for sharing. I'd have lots of question to ask but I'll just go with two:
    1) how did you control the exposure ramping for the day to night sequences on the phone?
    2) how did you synchronize the slider to the phone shutter (if you did)? Or did you just set it for a very slow motion and let the phone shoot pictures at a regular interval (with no synchronization between the two)?
    All the best!

You skills and methods are stupendous and nearly perfect as an art form. Your camera timelapses are at times surreal and at others simply gorgeous with bright colors, clarity and resolution. 16:00 this would be an amazing series of timelapses, showing multiple times of blue smoke filling fjords, then showing the source being cruise ships, including shot of an area as cruise ship comes in to park and slowly fills the sky with blue. Would be very powerful with your skill. You can look up the timetables for cruise liners and get to spots before them to catch their arrival.

Morten, thank you so much for sharing the behind the scenes of your beautiful time-lapses! Watching you work has been very educational for me and I'm hoping to buy your time-lapse course as soon as I save up some money. I have so many questions about time-lapsing! I've been into time-lapse for about 3 years now (part time). I'm working on a short (3-5 minute) time-lapse film project about the mountains here in Canada and so far I've just been shooting the various sequences and learning as I go. I have an electronics background so I even built my own motorized slider and a panning head. It's been fun because I get to be both creative (with the photography) and technical with the slider build. :)

I almost skipped this video and even after starting, I had no idea what I am getting myself into. One of the best mountain-side visual experiences I have had with this video. And I kept repeating "Damn you are crazy, but in a great way"

Just stumbled across your channel and watched this video. Amazing video. Loved that you took us on your adventure rather than just show the results. Would love to have heard your opinion on what you thought of using the smartphone for this. I could not make out what camera you said you were using for videoing, Sony NX or something? All in all very inspirational and I look forward to having a look over some of your other videos now. Subbed.
