- We are picking up our new airplane in Microsoft Flight Simulator for our flight around the world. In this episode we will be going over the aircraft we have chosen for this adventure and take it for a quick circuit to see how it flies.

I doing about the same trip but from west to east around the globe. From Death Valley California . Weather will be an issue going thru Alaska. Most all weather hitting the west coast of USA begins in the Gulf of Alaska. I'm sure we'll pass each going in opposite directions.....

I completed my first round the world trip this morning. 27 legs in total. I used the P-38 Lightening. Full realism settings, including live weather. No problems at all with the Allison engines. The extra fuel in the drop tanks really paid off crossing the Atlantic. I did not use GPS, entirely old school navigation. I'm now considering a North to South flight over the poles in the DC-6.

I've been looking for any sort of MSFS World Tour on UA-cam forever now. i want to do my own World Tour in the Goose ever since I first saw the plane. Unfortunatly i don't have a computer to play MSFS myself (yet), so all I can do for now is watch videos

When I did this I was using the TBM. I really wanted something “study level” and quick but still general aviation
Cool. I recently got the Cessna 414, that would be a great aircraft for this trip. It is a very study level GA aircraft, pressurized and 200+ TAS.
I started out do around the world in a Cessna 150. I flew from Radville SK which is my local airport in real life. I calculated the weight of a life raft and a survival suit which would be required when crossing large bodies of water. Added in the weight of survival rations and that was my baggage weight. My life raft flew as a passenger and the rest went in the back. I put in my own weight of 238 which I was at the time. The poor 150 was pretty much all up. I used real world weather. I flew north and across the north to Greenland. Around rather than across Greenland and over to Iceland. Down to the Shetlands and the length of the British Isles. Across France and into Germany to Zwiebrukken where I stopped because in the real world spring came and work intervened on my flying time. In my travels I also went on you tube and searched out the places I landed at and took the time to actually computer visit the places. I always made comments on those videos and told them what I was doing. I got a lot of positive feedback from people in those places and it made it like I was actually doing the trip. Never any auto pilot or dilated time. It took me just as much time as I would have used if I had actually made the trip in real life. I do intend t o pick up where I left off but I am building a Flight sim Cockpit for the rest of the flight.

My step son and I are doing this same trip in 2 DA 62's. He lives two hours away from me IRL. We left off currently a few miles west of Mt. Everest. We chose a very similar route. I'm sure I'll enjoy the other episodes.

Just found your channel as I am getting up to speed on the Garmin 1000nxi. Like your idea of flying around the world. Got me thinking to do the same thing in a different aircraft and slightly different route. Your preparation is excellent and you have a nice voice. I'm looking forward to the trip. One consideration in favor of the Diamond you haven't pointed out ... diesel engines, which are perfectly happy running on standard- Jet-A. Avgas is rapidly becoming hard to find in remote locations.
Yes, thanks for mentioning that, Jet-A is cheaper and usually more readily available. Also, as they are turbo charged, they have more power at higher altitudes. Cheers!

Just found this series and have subscribed. Back at the end of last year I flew an old Imperial Airways route from London to Delhi and used the TBM. Really enjoyed it. Just summoning up the enthusiasm to attempt something akin to this. Thanks for taking the time to record this for everyone.
Awesome, thank you! I'm finding the routing to be challenging now in the area of northern Pakistan with the high terrain, the DA62 can only do 20000 feet. Enjoy the series!
